  1. Cheers for the compliments guys, it's only gone into so much detail because i can't do much else when I'm at home, and now I've finished building the workshop in the back garden I'm finding other bit's and pieces to do :D Hi Kev, it was £145 all in, that's trade though. Not cheap, you could try marsdon directly, with hindsight that's probably the better route :(
  2. Cheers Dave!!! Yeah I thought you might have your charge rad there, it's about the only place it could go! Natters are definitely a good thing :D, always up for a natter and a drink :D Almost finished making the mock up caliper brackets, but didn't have an M12 clearance drill :( Have to wait till tomorrow to bolt it all up together. Also did some FEA on in just to make sure all was OK- it's my brakes after all!! I'm making them from a high grade aluminum to save unsprung weight so I have to be careful and factor in fatigue, but all was good.
  3. Hi mate, the one I'm using, TT 04 plate, fits fine. Use VAGCAT.com to find the part no.
  4. For my Brembos I drew up a caliper bracket, might be of some use to someone......BREMBO BRACKET.PDF[/attachment:1a4s1v3c]
  5. Cheers guys! Cut out the blanking plugs on my VR wheel arch liners at lunchtime so i can fit the cooling ducts, it's quiet at work today!!
  6. They look much nicer than the audioscape ones which are too curvy imo. Really good :thumbleft: Sorry that was me that bought the sub enclosure!!

    Current leakage

    1. Get a multimeter, 2. measure the current drain exactly. 3. Take out a fuse starting at one end of the fusebox. 4. Measure the drop in current drain, if there is one. 5. Take out the next fuse etc.... Hopefully it won't be the alarm, that's a pain!
  8. Those calipers are huge!!! They certainly look good behind the wheel 8) Are you going to paint them to match the red of the car? :D
  9. Yeah, tidying/cleaning it up was really an excuse just to take it apart :D , I wanted to see what goes on in there, I knew mine was ok on the car so wasn't too afraid of breaking it!! I'm waiting for all the fittings and bolts to get back from the platers, probably pick them up on Friday. Bit of a boring update really (as they all are at the moment :( ) but Jon's finished the wiring now, at long last- it turns out Motors in Motion (breakers)have given me the relay plate off a diesel  , and the engine bay loom off a A3 3.2, to go with my TT engine loom (the one attached to the engine) and ECU, the poor guy has been battling with wiring diagrams which don't tally up for ages, and has basically done the whole thing by tracing the wires- doesn't sound too bad but it's sooo laborious and doesn't always work out, cheers Jon you're a legend :notworthy: ... The good news is though that once he's finished doing his tax return the engine's going to be out again and real progress can be made with the final installation of components. The loom and brake lines can be fitted, and I need to do a small bit of painting in the engine bay where brackets have been taken off (washer bottle) and touching up on the battery tray etc, but to be honest it's downhill from here, and more visual progress like putting the coilies, brakes and hubs etc back on, which always feels good :) Anyway I've been getting on with making some mock up caliper brackets whilst I'm waiting for a milling machine to arrive for my new workshop I've just finished building. I'm making one out of wood just to make sure I haven't overlooked anything silly before I do them in metal. I'll have to finish them off at my old mans house though, he's got a bansaw... climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfP270109_21.47[01].JPG[/attachment:17g4hnxw]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfP270109_22.06.JPG[/attachment:17g4hnxw]P270109_22.08.JPG[/attachment:17g4hnxw] Will be finished tomorrow.........
  10. Integra Type R, much nicer than the civic imo
  11. I'm not sure if the calipers are different, i know the rest is! Sorry mate!
  12. It's probably the cables at fault, they get worn and then get stuck sometimes. New cables make a big difference. :D
  13. The Fiat and GTV brembos are both lug mounted, so you'd have to create your own mounting bracket, which isn't too difficult but a hassle. The Seat ones you can use with the Seat mounting brackets. :D

    mouldy lights

No just get round to the side of it, DON'T put it down the inside!!!! :D :D
  15. Jim, it started when you went through the puddle right? My little process of elimination (is that spelt right?) Sounds unlikely that the timing would have been upset by this. There is no water in the air side of things or in the bores. Electrical side is ok as far as we know- it doesn't generally get worse after 45secs Fuel pump is working fine when you first start it up, so it's unlikely it would just start to go wrong after 45 or so seconds. It is most probably therefore something related to the engine warming up- it's the only thing that changes I believe the ECU has a cold start program, and then switches over to the Lambda after a short while. I personally reckon this is where you should start looking, as it could well have been broken by the sudden temp change being sudenly drenched in water or the plug perhaps. Either way, hope you get it sorted buddy
  16. Good to see you putting the effort in with the welder  Totally agree on TIG welding too, it's just a shame there aren't more people doing it anymore, have you tried mig brazing? Works really well and it's very tidy, although you still need a lot of heat sometimes as per steel mig.
  17. R32 rocco i had heard of....... but an R36 rocco :luvlove: , i knew a 'next project' would come along sometime!! Damn you for saying that
  18. Fantastic thread and skills!!! Keep up the good pics!!!

    Spring Rates

If they are going to change them free, give it a go! If not, maybe try some cheaper ones to start with just to get them right, as H&R springs cost a bit.
  22. That looks nice and OE, how have you held the heater controls in place? Does the fit look good in the flesh?
