Morning all So, I was hoping to extend my house adding another bedroom with a double garage underneath but I'm struggling to decide on what is a suitable minimum size as I've been warned by the architect that I may struggle to go 6m wide as it'll add too much width to the house (apparently planners don't like greater than 50% of the current width) so he's suggesting reducing it to a 5.3m external width which would give 5m internally. What do people think? Would this be wide enough for a double?

Always remember you popping over to help with the fitting of my AP's and taking your VRT out for a spin. So blindingly quick and well sorted. It's a car that I've always wished mine could be. Also a big fan of the Edition 30. Great cars but hard to find a good unmolested one these days. Ever think you'll come back to the Corrado fold mate?

Is that Bernard Newbury's Ghia? Stunning.

Nice, looks like a great example

That is a really good result for a NA VR6! Bet it feels good on the road

Result then mate. Hope the 911 hunt goes well. Don't forget to keep us updated.

Corrado Club National Day 2017 date fixed

Was a great day, never been to Brands before and it's a fantastic place to view the racing being able to see most of the track from most locations. Really good to see all the old faces and meet all the new faces as well! Some lovely cars on the stand and, as per usual, everyone was incredibly pleasant to chat to during the day. Only regret was not staying for the parade lap, looks fantastic.... it would've also stopped me sitting on the M25 after a series of accidents. Roll on the next meet! -

I've got rain here in Cambridge.... going to ruin my chances of washing the car tonight.. Hope you all have a good evening at Brands -
That's a really good attempt, looks delicious!

Looks like a really good example mate, and I love those wheels! Good luck with the sale.

When I was 16 I bought a 1967 Beetle, my very first car, which I went on to restore in full until it was almost show worthy. Then some drunk ran into the back of it at a junction a few years later. Repaired it but it didn't feel the same, and I was young and fancied a change so sold it. Tried to find it a few years ago but no luck and the DVLA wouldn't tell me any info on who now owns it. I think that's probably the only car I regret selling. If anything I regret either buying the wrong car or missing out on buying something. In hindsight I wish I'd bought an early bay window camper when they were more realistically priced. I'm on the lookout for one as a project but everyone wants silly money for them so I'm struggling to justify the cost. I also, kind of, regret buying back my current Corrado (puts on flame jacket). I love the car but being realistic I should've just moved on to the track 'rado I acquired, which is now sat rotting and doing nothing in my mates barn because Mincy is in the garage. It doesn't get used as much as I'd like and I'll now probably never sell it as my son is so attached to it, my mates would never let me forget it, and I do enjoy being involved in both this forum and the CCGB.

Awesome!

Nobody wants the converted ones, Kev. Even with the more modern, powerful, economical motor it's only the completely standard original cars that are holding their value. In hindsight I should've rebuilt my vr and then turbo, than going for the 24v conversion.

Congrats mate. Having continued corrado life with a baby, then a toddler and now a 5yr old I can safely say you'll have no issues. The corrado is surprisingly practical, we've been camping in ours a few times. And if light with the right foot it's fairly economical.... You'll be fine mate.

Looks awesome. Love a mk2 and the 1.8t is a great motor.

Owning a performance car or classic just becoming difficult

^^Coullstar is 100% right IMO. Lease deals are so cheap these days, and most young people can't afford to get on the housing ladder so they blow the money on cars. You can get an S3 on PCH for about £275 a month which is an insane deal. Dealers never used to lease cars to anyone other than businesses, but now every dealer does it. If you pay attention to things like reg plates and window stickers you can spot a lease car a mile away. There is also definitely an air of assumed right with teenagers now. I see it all the time at work when the apprentices rock up in some brand new car like they're barry big balls.... but I know what they all get paid.... and the answer is either mummy and daddy are helping out or they've got no other commitments. When I was a teenager, and then as an apprentice, I had to use my mum's car until I could afford a £1000 banger and insurance/fuel/tax etc. I never got a penny towards it from the folks unless I upped the chores! Some days I think I'm mad slogging around in old or relatively old cars, and often I think "Damn it, I'm going to get something new" but then I also think... my house is almost paid for, I have no loans or credit cards and it's quite nice not having unnecessary financial obligations hanging over me. -
Morning guys. It's that time of year again when I fork out a load of cash to insure the 'rado. Usually I stick with HIC but the renewal has come back with a 21% increase. I'll speak to them, obviously, but any recommendations of others firms offering good prices for fairly modified cars appreciated. Cheers :salute:

Can't decide whether to head down to Brands on the Friday or Saturday. I've got a full weekend ticket so could do the whole thing. -
Whatever the issue is it must be severe to take, what on the face of it looks like a stunning example, and break it up. Shame to see
-
Mr Sunderland, as I live a breath! You'll find it different around here these days. Still a helpful bunch but the banter has reduced. I think the lack of build threads is a shame, but I guess that's because so few people are modifying the rado now. Most are restoring to stock. I remember the banter very fondly. The pages of thread updates every time I logged in. Toad posting massively inappropriate personal photos etc. Good times

Impressive mileage and hole in your gearbox!

I have no experience with this but I thought you could use Seat cupra discs. Anyone?
