  1. Managed to get some time today so I thought I'd finally fit my dave16v short shifter. Spot the difference! Feels nice and precise but need to have a proper drive this evening to see exactly how much different it is. PITA to fit but hopefully all worth it.
  2. There's nothing like riding a fast bike, even my old Daytona 675 would do the best part of 160mph and 0-60 in sub 3secs. You have to be careful though and I found I enjoyed riding slower on the roads and doing a load of trackdays instead for the speed. Be wary of the 'you'll end up as an organ donor' brigade. As long as you ride appropriately and assume everyone else on the road is going to do something stupid then you'll be able to avoid 99.9999% of the usual dangers so just ignore those people and enjoy yourself. I'd also recommend getting along to some local meets or ride outs. You find most clubs aren't as cliquey as the car world and are very accepting of new riders.
  3. Top work mate, well done. Been riding since I was 16, got my full licence as soon as I could. It's a fantastic biking world out there my only advice is take it easy to start with, get some experience and as much additional training (road and skills days) as you can. Make yourself safe now rather than later. And if you've not got a bike try to keep the skills up to date, borrow or hire a bike, if you can.
  4. Yeah the dust was a pain, but fun in my mates buggy. Just looked at your thread. Looks like a nice install, should've had the bonnet up.
  5. Cheers Bill, proof I wash it! Mark - that's the sequence I use but some use a sealant before the wax, apparently, and that's too much effort for me.
  6. Cheers mate, appreciated. Thought it looked pretty good given I had to wash it in a field and started at 6.30am! First time using Poorboys black hole glaze and Nattys blue wax. Really impressed with the results on the day, just need to see how well it beads in the bad weather. My favourite shots of the weekend:
  7. That top one looks awesome! Was a great weekend, was a bit jaded by the time I got in last night though.. Roll on next year!
  8. Top work Bill, it's been good knowing you mate! :salute:
  9. Jim, apologies mate I've been away on my hols and only just seen the PM regarding this. Will get the money over to you ASAP. Cheers for sorting these :salute:
  10. Was the gear knob from the dealer mate? The best thing you can do (IMO) is make sure all the rubber parts are up to scratch, makes a huge difference once everything is tight. You've done the rest and it's an easy job so top mounts seems silly not to do. Top work mate.
  11. Thread revival from last year. Anyone going to this years event? 1st to the 3rd August at Euston Park near Thetford http://vwwhitenoise.com/
  12. That's because you're selling it! Good luck with the sale mate, shame but needs must.
  13. Haha! Well at least if it's only tracking it'll be sorted and fine once done. Inconvenient but not the worst thing that could've been wrong.
  14. I'd have one. Shame it's not slightly earlier but fantastic looking cars. How much, if you don't mind?
  15. Any word on the issues yet mate?
  16. that'll do it. No idea on problem tenants, a big stick seems to be all these people understand sometimes
  17. Afternoon all Just wondering if there are any property law experts on here that might be able to give me some pointers on the steps to buy out a long term lease from a leaseholder to make it freehold. Cheers Mic

I've got to ask, do you need a licence for that thing? Talk about one dangerous looking piece of kit!
  19. Strange seeing a few of the old regulars selling up but I'll admit I've thought about it myself recently (modified cars don't seem popular at the moment though) so I appreciate people want a change. Best of luck with whatever you end up getting mate.
