Cheers guys. I'm still not 100% on them but I think they'll be staying for the moment. Can't remember what page it's on but this is one of my fave pics. Great wheels and show off the brakes perfectly (more than the CHs at least)

Spotted last night, twice (7.40 on coldhams lane bridge then again about 8.15 heading out past marshals, a H-reg ending HLT? I was in the wife's car so didn't wave but on those brief glances it looked in good shape. Anyone?

Yesterday - Fixed (hopefully) a vacuum leak which I think may have been contributing to the leaning off at the top end. Also tried to trace a few wires to see if I could identify why I'm getting no long term trim.... All good fun Today - going to try to level off the coilovers, give it a clean, then eat my body weight in BBQ!

They are pretty stretched but they're definitely 215/40s so it must be the construction of those particular tyres. I'm ok with them, ideally I'd like a little less but 225's we're going to catch on the front. The discs are 304mm, and I could change them to 330's just with different carriers and rotors but I'm not sure ap sell the carriers separately. Might send them a mail. In comparison the Rotas had acres of clearance.
-
Fair enough Andi, but at least did you get my payment?
-
Men of unequivocal taste clearly! There's about 1mm of clearance with the brakes which is a little close but they don't seem to catch... Just close. Bill, looks like they might just be rubbing slightly on lock as the tyres are a slightly different 215/40 rather than the 205/40 which were too stretched for me. These a&e just right. I'll put a pic up later.

Not a chance! Cheers for the feedback, I'm definitely warming to them. Think it's just such a change from the dark wheels that I'm just a bit unsure.

So I finally managed to get some tyres on the CH's and get them fitted to the car, apologies for the crap phone pics but I'll get some better ones when I get a chance But there are a couple of issues. 1) The steering feels heavier than with the Rota's on 2) They rub on the fronts so the suspension either needs to come up or made stiffer 3) But the main issue is clearance on the brakes is really really tight so I think I'll need to go up to 330mm setup which requires new carriers/bells/rotors... which are not cheap! Plus, now they're fitted I'm not entirely sure I don't prefer the Rota's...... so they may be coming straight off again :(

Haha! I'll text you... Any update on this Andi?
-
Indeed. The one thing the video doesn't convey (due to the road/wind noise) is the fact that cruising on the motorway is OEM quiet with this... I'll have to do another from inside!
-
Yes mate, it was trying to respond to you that made me notice my status had lapsed again.
-
Welcome back mate.... it appears no one ever leaves entirely! I'd love an Evo. Drove one in anger a few years ago and it was fantastic, just a shame they seem to attract a bit of a poor image these days.

Morning Andi. Had the donator status thing come up again... I was going to PM you but I'm still massively over the 500 limit  ... So..... I've cancelled my monthly subs and donated one payment to cover a few years so I don't need to worry about it but I wanted to check a couple of things. 1) Will I get a reminder when that's coming to an end? 2) Can I run a smaller monthly sub alongside it (my old sub would've generated more for the forum over the same time period) or will this create an issue with the timings being reset again?
-
Sorry Bill  But if it helps he's getting some more love and attention today, and I'll make sure he gets a wash/polish over the weekend
-
Finally managed to edit an exhaust one....although the wind and air pressure noise is quite bad so I may do another with the closed back on the camera case [video=youtube_share;ZzR_QOvD4p4]

Cheers guys I was actually bored the other day so I was having a mess around with using the GoPro on the car in different positions, one of which was mounted on the rear panel pointing at the exhaust to see how it sounded externally under normal driving. I also got one from behind the front wheel pointing forward which shows the brakes off quite well but the tyre noise is quiet draining. Happy to put some of these experiments up but I didn't think people would be interested as although a little spirited it's not exactly the thrill of a trackday or something!

I think Dox was/is running TH's but on a VR, and Clumpy was running them on his which I think is a 4-stud so hopefully one of those will be able to help.
-
She's got Tourette's... All part of channel 4 showing how diverse they are.
-
Great to meet Dox earlier, thoroughly nice chap. Always good to put a face to a name! Hope the drive home wasn't too bad mate.
-
Haha! You've officially got a problem mate, Pristineitis!
-
Cheers mate, I do love the exhaust and brakes. Hopefully I'll have more updates on here soon, just enjoying driving it at the moment. Bet you can't wait now with yours!

I once owned a Peugeot 405....... There, I said it. If you'd like me to leave the forum now I'd understand..... :(

Unfortunately I couldn't get the pilot's within my budget but my tyre guy is going to do me a set of Falken 914's fitted etc which seem to get very good reviews here http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Falken/ZE914.htm so will give them a try. Thanks for the help gentlemen and I'll stop messing up your thread now Nick!

Don't want to clog clumpy's thread but that bus looks awesome!
