You can buy a new seal from vag for about £9. Check my posts as there is some pictures of the same problem. Its a good idea to use a bit of sealent as well as the new seal.
-
can you still get OEM ones from the dealer, any idea of cost if so?

www.furnitureclinic.co.uk is another one you could try.

I don't see why the marshalls/race stewards need to be asking the teams what happened. They should just watch the race and make the decisions without needing to ask the teams what happened. At the end of the day both Trulli and Lewis raced till the end and they should both be either 3rd or 4th. If someone starts making false accusations then they should be fined or imprisioned :gag:
-
I didn't see the race and can't quite grasp what happened. From what I have read Lewis passed trulli under a saftey, but trulli was off the track(??) Surely if he left the track you can pass under caution. Also he let him repass straight away so whats the problem?

The dropping down by about 1cm is probably the pulse as some people describe. New ABS pumps are a fortune but there are plenty of used ones around for £30-40.

http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/ also do some repair kits and have some good before and after pics of repairs similar to yours. I would send them a sample of the leather from under the seat to colour match first. Then I would definitely sand down the side of your drivers seat as it looks like its a bit tired. You would probably get away with that as the rest of the seat looks ok. I didn't realise but you can change the colour of leather from any colour to any colour and I am seriously considering dyeing my black seats beige.

Ive done one side with a heat gun and it works but is still really time consuming. Gonna try some of that citrus on the other side. Jeez it would have been far easier to clean the wax off. Oh well you live and learn.

Ive got the same problem and MOT is looming. I get the pulse (so I assume the ABS pump is ok)but the light stays on which Im hoping is just a sensor. I was thinking of sticking some tape over the bulb to get through the MOT, do you think Id get away with that?

Nice day today, so I thought Id give the inside a vacuum and some leather conditioner to the interior. Keep meaning to post some pics after Ive cleaned the Car but keep forgeting. Heres some anyway, better late than never. The leather came up really nice considering its seen 162000 miles  Corrado92.pdfDsc02832.jpg[/attachment:2ab8w2tn] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfDsc02834.jpg[/attachment:2ab8w2tn] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfDsc02835.jpg[/attachment:2ab8w2tn] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDsc02837.jpg[/attachment:2ab8w2tn] Dsc02034.jpg[/attachment:2ab8w2tn]

The serpentine belt goes around the alternator, water pump, air con (if fitted).

You will nearly always get a bit of milky residue on the oil cap if you haven't driven it for a while in the winter due to condensation. Same with the white smoke in the winter on start up. If the white smoke clears after about 5 mins and you are not losing any coolant then chances are its not the HG.
-
No I didn't. Thats a good idea. Ive already peeled it and as you can imagine some has come off and some has split and is stuck on. Ill try the hair dryer on the remnants tommorrow.

Ive been in the process of polishing my car and masked up all the trim. Unfortunately I did it over a few weekends and didn't take the masking off. Yep youv'e guessed it its stuck on there like a mutha. Tried getting it off today using a combination of white spirit, wd40, engine degreaser hot water and a lot of swearing. It is coming off but not 100% and slowly. Anybody got any tips to speed up the process. Is it still possible to buy the rubber trims around the windows, the bump strips and the roof strips new from VW?

There are quite a few vids of this on youtube. Would like to have a go myself, Had a search for where you can get it and seems to be mainly for scientific uses and in large quants. In the good ol USA they sell it in supermarkets.

This has happened on rare occassions in my VR (usually in the winter) and in other cars. The first you know about is the the steering goes real heavy as you normally don't realise the car has stalled. If the cars still moving and your quick you can git it to restart by releasing the clutch while in gear. As others have said its worth cleaning the ISV as a matter of course, but as long as it dosen't happen all the time you could put it down as one of the quirks of corrado ownership :D

VR6 - Failed water pump (now fixed with old pump pics)
PROVR6 replied to Neil VR6's topic in Engine Bay
The water leak & noise aside, I don't think those oil temps are anything to worry about. Mine will often get to that, I think it says in the owners manual that 140 is when you should worry. -
Ive got 2, one for my scorpio as well. I bought one from www.TheUltimateFinish.co.uk , the other off ebay, Maplins do them as well, they are about £12-15.
-
Is the battery new? if not it might be on its way out. Mine wouldn't hold a charge longer than a couple of days even with a trickle charger plugged in. Bought a new battery and kept the solar trickle charger in the cig socket and all is well.
-
I find the opposite. My car is more lively once the engine is upto temp.
-
At the upper end of your price range I would consider an older S2000, Elise S1, I also would like to own a TT mk4 Supra at some point.
-
Thats Me :D , Sorry I should have put my username down, Doh.

Like as has been said, they are just thick oil. It will slow down oil useage and can quiet up some knocks but the oil is too thick to get to all the oilways and can cause damage to the engine, especially on cold starts. They are perfect for shifting a shit motor though.
-
Like you say, you just never know buying any used car. I would just look for smoke out the exhaust, check the fluids and for any nasty noises. If you can, try to have a lengthy drive say 1 hour +.

Hi Zak. Can't source the OEM conectors but judging by others, dosen't seem they are needed. Ill take a 3 relay when you are ready PM me payment details.
