  1. Any pics of the rear wheel/tyre? and info on offsets/adapter thickness? looking good, one of the best corrado interiors I've ever seen.
  2. I did yours yesterday Lee, you should get it tomorrow. I photographed the procedure too, pics coming soon.
  3. Yep, can't fault it, it's the b0llocks. my only regret os not paying the extra £300 for a new 1st and 2nd too (for the whine in those gears like the rest). It pulls like a b4stard, feels like it's got 50BHP more. my black mk2 was a full second quicker down the 1.4 mile with this box (and a bit of weigh saving). The sound is incredible too, it feels like you're driving a touring car! I lost count of the amount of people who asked me if it was supercharged. back on the road next weekend I hope.
  4. The first one is a ridgeway racing flywheel. but i sent it back as it was machined wrong. the silver one is a Fidanza item, from the US, which is a 3rd of the weight of the stock one! Bonnet clearance is about 8mm. I'm glad I went for the competition spec vibratechnics front mount! if you've bought a VGI, buy a new front mount too, you'll need it. those 3 shiny things are the mounts The other pics show my DIY headwork, a Mk4 head gasket (with the part number) for more compression, and the proper cam alignment tool in use. Driveshafts going in tonight.
  5. Had a mammoth 12 hour session in the garage yesterday. Happy to report that I eventually got a decent flywheel that fitted, and it's all on (in?). box went on fine (apart from being enormously heavy! I can only JUST lift it on my own). slight problem with subframe (it's off a SEAT toledo, needs some extra holes drilling in it). got the engine sat on it's mounts around lunchtime yesterday. I seam welded the front x-member form end to end then ground the welds smooth and painted it all (and the rad support). p***ing about cleaning and painted stuff is what's taking up all the time. got the cams in and new sprockets and all timed up. engine is ready to finally close up now. still waiting on the samco's and a fuel hose from the dealers and some rad fans (they can wait). so by the end of today is should be almost ready to fire up! but seeing as I'm awaiting bits I'll have to do the wishbones and brakes instead. it might be sat on it's wheels by tonight. Ready to roll out next weekend. Haven't finished polishing the VGI yet, but I thought I'd throw it on anyway. and it's abit bl00dy close to the bonnet!!
  6. It's M8 yes, Lee sent me 2 pulleys. but one's for his car, and the other is for mine. If you can send me a pulley I'll sfit a new bearing in it for you. I just thought it'd be handy to have one to use as an exchange item. Pics comin up soon as part of this how 2.
  7. My 8v one too. Right in front of my eyes! It was making a wierd noise, so I took the belt cover off ans then fired it up to see what it was. the f*cker siezed solid there and then! just caught it in time.
  8. yes, the front bank running a 3-1, and the rear bank running a 3-1 too, like a proper V exhaust should be. The syncro sytsem is a twin exhasut all the way to the back box anyway, so I was going to dithc hte back bock and run 2 side exits, one on each side. I need a new downpipe, I cna't get anythign off the shelf to fit so I figured if I was getting one made I may as well get it done properly and go for a tubular header too. then this split banks idea came up so I figured I'd go for it. it should sound fantastic and hopefully if I can find somene who knows what they're doing, release some good power gains too. there's load of room back there to make seriously long primaries.
  9. Interesting. I run and AutometerA/F guage, and it bounces back and forth like a b4stard, annoying as f*ck. I was going to run a seperate probe for it too, but this new fangled thing sounds mint! then again, I'm getting a cutum twin exhasut made up soon (one for each bank of cylinders) so I'm not sure what to do about the lambda setup now.
  10. cool tip! never heard of one of those before.
  11. well, the insurance company still think it's an 8v at the moment!
  12. I've just bought a load of bearings. currently looking for a decent pulley to use as an exchange item as mine is cracked so it's only fit for the bin.
  13. I've curently got 195/50's on my speedlines. not driven the corrado on them yet, but I know for a fact that 195's on the golf VR were uselss, it was chirping in 3rd. Grip on 215/40/16's was awesome though.
  14. Can't get hold of the guy at the moment. I'll give him a ring now to check on stock and sizes and offsets.
  15. without the 4wd, and without the nitrous. bring it on.
  16. The Schrick VGI doesn't need a new timing belt and overhaul every 30K.......and you don't have to woory about it blowing up either.... I'll take on ANY G60 in my VR when it's done and I'm confident I'll lick every single one.
  17. no, just a few bearings and seals to press out and them press new ones in. it's a very simple thing the G-Lader, it only consists of about 10 parts. I can tell you how to time the belt up too.
  18. yeah, I got a copy now. I can host the pics up if anyone is interested?
  19. Love the colour!! but lose the colour coding on the inside.....
  20. ah, I always wondered why you'd painted the inside blue. is it all up and running now then?
  21. No, I'm with you too, my old mk2 was that colour. Imola Pearl Orange off the Honda NSX S-Zero.
  22. dark burgundy pearl M plate, in my garage, on axle stands, no engine...........
  23. I've seen afew kits on eBAy. Bahn Brenner motorsport will sell you a kit. Jabbasport won't. Look on google. I did last year when Iwanted to rebuild mine and found a few places in holland and germany. I worked out at around £200 for the seals, bearings, belt etc.. There's nothing to them, just makes ure you have some decent circlip pliers, and be prepared to find out that it's totally shagged inside and you make need a new one. I've got a box full of bits of you need any shafts or anything like that.
  24. awesome! any idea what times it runs?
