I think that if it is a pannel filter it will still be the wrong size tbh... you caqn always have a look and try it! If it's a cone filter then you won't be able to use it as your metering head is part of the airbox...

Nice interior mate - do you find the steering a little heavy with that small rim? I would like a set of those dials too 8)
-
ashvdub, be brave mate... it'd be better to find out now rather than when I gives up completely and you find your car a bit further down the hill than you parked it :?
-
bugger thats not good - hope thats not the result of too many hand brake turns!!! Good luck getting it fixed...
-
ashvdub, Passat and C rooflinings are very different in terms of shape... Dave - you could always park it on the roof and then the sagging won't notice ;) But seriously I'd have a chat with the valet lads as they may have some tricks or may offer to meet you half way on the cost of a new one seeing as this has happened since they cleaned it :?

Spraying lights has been covered a fair few times on here... I'm sure a quick search will turn up some good info 8)
-
The early ones sit in a bit further than the late ones and the later ones have a larger plastic surround - you can put late glass and surround on an early light too... hope that helps a bit - if you're still stuck put a pic of them up 8)

That looks really sweet... ride height is spot on 8)

New Wheels...Will 17's Fit without mods?????
Phil K replied to rado-steve's topic in General Car Chat
I've got 17's on mine with standard ride height at the moment and I get slight rubbing on the inner arch at full lock (but only when turning left and only in the off side arch) It's about to be dropped 60mm in the next few weeks so I'll probably be able to tell you what its like then... -
That looks good matey - very special ;)
-
if you want lexus look then um maybe buy a lexus... it's amazing how many cars they can make look sh1te with these lights 8)
-
C's look better without IMHO... but yeah if you have to have them then Calibra one are probably the best (shame they are off a Vauxhall :pukeleft: )
-
Should look sweet when fitted... how much did that little lot set you back?
-
Had a look at your thread on Vortex - looked cool... pics not working on here for me though :?

Hello and welcome to the forum... good luck finding the right C - my best advice is to look at a few, don't limit your choices by being colour specific (remember that red fades to pink) and have a look at a few before you choose oh, and have a good read of the buying guides 8)

Found the link to the how to... click onthis linkthen click on downloads and then Corrado Air box mod at bottom of page

If you're going to drill the air box then you want to do it on the left hand side (nearest the wing) and make sure you have a cold air feed going round to it... behind the grill on the left is a flat plastic panel. You can make a large circular hole in this and run the feed from there... I've seen this done and it seems to be very effective but unfortunately don't have any pics! As for drilling the holes - don't over do it start with a few and try it then add more until it's as you like it 8) I'll do a search and see if I can find any pics for you...

ooooh someone else from Guildford... haven't see your S about though - mind you you prob haven't seen my C as it's only been back on the road for a couple of weeks  Anyway, welcome to the forum - give me a flash if you see me - it's Perl Grey BTW 8) EDIT: are you freinds with Neil and Ben by any chance?
-
Having the colour coded grill deffo makes the h/light surronds work better IMO... and TBH I like the all silver 8) As already said - for it all to really work it'll have to be all black or all silver... At the end of the day it's your car and you should do what you like with it ;)

Firstly welcome to the forum and C ownership... Sounds like you're working through things systematicaly and can't be too far off having this running sweet... What do you mean when you say that you get surges at idle? If it's hunting then this could be the ISV (located on the right of the inlet manifold) this can normally be cleaned out with carb cleaner but if it's really bad then may want replacing... I currenly have the same problem with mine but this will get sorted under the warrenty on my new engine! As for the burning oil issues I'm afraid I don't have any bright ideas but I'm sure someone else will be able to suggest a few solutions... Hope that helps a bit Phil EDIT: you may want to start a thread in the wanted section for the breather pipe that you're after as it will get noticed quicker 8)

Welcome to the forum... as already said this is one of those subjects that comes up time and time again! The general feeling is that the best thing to do is remove either the snorkel or drill the wing side of the air box and put a pannel filter in alternatively Big Boys Toys do a filter that replaces the lower part of the air box IIRC... what ever you do make sure you put in a cold air feed as there is no point doing it if it's only going to suck in warm air from the engine bay! Here's the most recent thread on better breathing for the valvers if that helps 8) Phil

Suspension looking sweet mate and co-ordinates well with your pads

Must admit I get this similar problem - most noticable when stopping for fuel... 9 times in 10 it starts no problem but like you say the in between hot and cold starts can take a little longer. Mines running a brand new bottom end with a fully reconditioned head so there shouldn't be anything wrong with her - however I will be intersted to see if you find a solution as it could be the same with mine...
-
take some pics if you can of the swap as it may help other forum uses in the future (including myself when I sort out my battered one) 8)
