  1. Found this in a friend of mine's C, only it happened when you hit a ton - I obviously did this on private land :D TBH I don't have any faith in the ABS on the C - mine has mechanical faults (according to VAG-COM) on both sides at the front but the light never comes on (except when it checks the system) and they seem to work OKish...
  2. There seems to be a trend in the US for swapping to the Euro spec lens - europe would be fine as still LHD, but yeah ours would be no use... maybe you could put em on upside down  Anyone know the difference between the US and Euro lens'?
  3. I've always prefered it the other way round - when people swap the rallye lights for C ones - they're wider units and so fill the front better IMO...
  4. Here's a pic if anyone's interested... Could prob leave lowering until after getting these rims on as it'd still look like a standard VR
  5. Yep, copies are the way forwards for sure (I wouldn't say no to the extra horses too  )
  6. My Sister (she's 18 - and NO you cant go anywhere near her LOL) and her mates often get dropped off by me in the C and I always get reports about how they all think it is way 8) Have lost count of the admiring nods I get from older people (that should be 30-60 IMO) And I have been chatted up by younger female drivers in petrol stations aswell... But like Kev and Andi have both said I don't always notice who looks and who doesn't - usually because I'm too busy hanging on  (when it's working LOL)
  7. Oh yeah Chris, how are you planning to fix your plate on? And will you be using a 'slightly illegal' smaller one?
  8. Sounds like you got a very good deal there Chris... am going to look into getting my bumper sorted properly now - this could become a Guildford thang 8)
  9. um, I don't see any pics... And now I do 8) (only one though mind!) Looking good Chris, I'm planning to do the same with my bumper when I get the new one... where did you get it done and what sort of price did the bumper set you back? So how long do you give it before your front splitter is as cracked and stone chipped as mine LOL?

    Few MOD questions?

Welcome to the forum MO :) like stevemac said styling is upto you but IMO I'd rather not do anything to my car that has the words BAD BOY attached to it
  11. I have picked the perished rubber off mine to tidy them up a bit until I can afford to replace them... but I wonder if there is any point in replacing them if they don't cause leaks?
  12. Cool, think I like them better anyways... Jims right, they do give it the look of the VR speedlines - which is exactly the look I'd like to have... Have you noticed much difference in handling / ride quality?
  13. The ones you have on your car have a different spoke design to that of the record shown in the photo... is this because of the size you've got or are they a different rim?
  14. That looks like a really nice example... Beetles were the thing that got me into this whole dub mess! What engine are you running? Love those BRM rims 8)
  15. Spark plugs are under 6 months old... dizzy cap is also new and ht lead from coil to dizzy is new but haven't done the main leads... for above reason.
  16. I've got 2 cars: Corrado for the weekends (although I tend to use it in the evenings too) and a Peugeot 406 Rapier for my everyday use... The Pugs really not that bad 126bhp and handles pretty well in the twisties, but still prefer the Corrado for all out thrashing 8) The C is currently running bad so will be out of action over the next 2 weeks while I get it all sorted
  17. There it is Dazzy   Thanks for your help chaps... I found this problem a while back with the HT leads when I too got a anti nock set, took 'em back but haven't got round to getting the right ones - but I think I might have to now  still, so long as they help it's worth it. Having had a chat with Aposegil and G60bv this evening I'm thinking this could be a bad signal from a faulty lamda as it's def over fueling - hence holding back... I'll let you know Kev So these 2 combined should make Phil a happy boy - fingers crossed :D
  18. Any advice is good advice or at least a starting point  I think you're right, it's just a matter of working out which sensors can cause this and start with the cheepest first... thanks Jim :) Right then next question.... how many sensors can I expect to cahnge before I've replaced all of them and still have a problem

    Car wont start.

Dunno if this is the same thing but, my mate has a Shitroen ZX and the solenoid in his starter motor sticks - remedy this by putting a length of a wooden pole on the starter and whack with a hammer - it should free the solenoid and it'll turn again... Might be different on a C but I have heard this needing to be done on campers too HTH
  20. Hi Jim I cleaned the black stuff off the lower edge of the pipe last time I cleaned it (far to anal over cleaning  ) and after four days use this is black again... would have thought thats faily normal though. Other than that I haven't noticed smoke and it doesn't seem to burning oil... :? P
  21. Basicly the C is giving me sh1t again... this problem started a while ago but was intermittent before and now is a full time pain in the ar$e! Have basicly lost a lot power and it's very sluggish under 3K, when the revs drop you can hear a tinny pop in the center bow as though it's backfiring slightly and my MPG is down to around the 21 mark  The engine is also sounding very tappety and it feels like it's hunting slightly when just on the power it also missfires (jerkily pulls back) between 5 & 6K in the rev range  Someone suggested that it might be something to do with the lamda probe i.e. over / under fueling (probably not under fueling with my MPG)? Or I was wondering, might it have anything to do with the HT leads? Any suggestions would be excelent as I really need to get a good idea what to be changing and what order to start in by the weekend.... Thanks a lot guys Phil
  22. Lifting point is at the rear of the front wheel arch... there's a small pressed arrow on mine showing the exact point (which is just past the line of the door). If you're using a trolley jack you coudl do what I've done and get a block of would with a cut in groove so as not to risk damaging the paint / lip. When using the jack point this lifts the whole side of the car so they dont have a rear one marked on the sill 8)
  23. You can def get the lower top mounts and I've got a feeling you can use mk2 golf ones but do check that out as it's more of a guess... When did you lower it? It can take a week for the setup to settle - which might level things out at the front
