  1. How desperate are you to get it done? The weekend is better for daylight.
  2. I'll take a look for nothing then take it from there.
  3. If you get really stuck I could take a look at it for you. I had to do the same on my Moonroof and I'm only in Sandiacre. Dave
  4. I usually visit the West Bridgeford branch as it's closer but I can only just get 5% out of the tight buggers.
  5. You have to push it away towards the windscreen. It has metal clips holding it on and believe me it's an utter pig to remove. The windscreen adhesive usually sticks to it which results in a breakage, I broke my own and another I was trying to salvage. The headlining slips into a slot running down the length.
  6. Looks like you've not fitted the surround correctly unless you planned it that way. The surround should sit flush with the top of the plastic surround. The backing plate looks missing did you fit it?
  7. There is a plastic cap on the gearbox cable linkage and when removed reveals a tube/port. Is this for linkage lubrication? Thanks
  8. I've also modded quite a few in the past and have today just finished modding one for my car.
  9. Youll not be disappointed, i had mine fitted there and they are brilliant.. That's just what I wanted to hear. I couldn't make my mind up either but was drawn to the KW's.
  10. The log book will state Blue if it's Purple, I asked the same question about a previous car.
  11. I take it you mean put some washers on the bolt? You can use washers but the thickness needs to be right or the door will lift too high and you won't be any better off. I made some thin shims at work - pic attached.

    A couple of queries

Screws for the handle are M5, 5 to 12mm long will be ok and they ideally need to be countersunk but it's not important as you won't seee them buried under the seat.
  13. Loosen the top hinge bolt and shim it up. Your hinge will still have play but the door will close properly. I did this on mine and a few others on here. Takes about 5 mins. Dave
  14. Polished Stainless handle fitted.
  15. I was considering them but I think I'm going to go for KW variant 1's. I want the high adjustment. Are you happy with the Koni's?
  16. There's a clip holding the injector in place, remove it then as Jim says give it a good pull.
  17. Some of you may know I advertised my Rado for sale last year but with 1 thing or another I didn't push the sale hard enough and it has sat silently in my garage for 6 months. I always intended on selling it so on Sunday I got it back out the garage and took some photo's with the intention of banging it back in the for sale section. I suddenly had a strange feeling and said to my missus 'I can't do it, I just can't sell it'. From that moment I knew I would regret it as I did with my previous Rado. I'd only had it just over a year and only driven it for 6 months after spending alot of money and time getting it looking and driving right. I just want to sound off about the draw our cars have. I really didn't expect to feel this way. Anyway I'm keeping it now :D :D :D By the way I have a 1.8T Passat as my daily driver and although it's more comfortable, quieter and more economical with climate control and all, it really doesn't hit the spot.
  18. Josh, Glad you got it sorted. I have considered a philips type screw but with them being so small and the amount of pressure required, the driver tends to slip out. I've started to include a selection of screws in the kits including Philips type. I always welcome feedback. Thanks Dave
  19. Josh, You are attempting the most difficult part and because it's such a small pivot pin there is not alot that can be done to overcome this. It can take some effort to get the screw to bite. I can send you some other screws to try if you like or you can send me your handle and I'll repair it for you. Just pay the postage both ways and I'll do it for free. I don't hear of many people struggle with removing the pin but it does happen. Dave
