Just a short note to thank 'Lilfuzzer' aka Chris for digging out a spare for me. It arrived this morning very well packaged and all for a very reasonable sum. I hope that I will be able to help a forum member one day.

Bump does anyone know the part number for this part? Thanks

I still have the first tax disc for my car, I'm tempted to put that back in!

Hi I am, looking for a support bracket for my fuse box cover. It is part 21 on the attached. Can anyone who is breaking their car help. This is required because one of the last two garages who worked on my car have mislaid it. Previously my alarm fitter left the part in a bag of rubbish as he couldn't be bothered to refit it or at least refer it back to me. I am tempted to name and shame!!

It always amuses me when people say they are going to brake the car, but perhaps when it is fitted with Ricaros that's what it deserves! -
The problem with low mileage is, if you drive them they are no longer low mileage!

This has been on the market for a couple of months. I think the price has been reduced recently. Strikes me as being a bargain now!

The one on the left is like mine. I have a late 95 VR. I think the left one is from the earlier models VR included.

Some fairly major inaccuracies in this write up. It does make you wonder about the rest of the magazine! From my experience the biggest issue is probably the abs system, I would advise anyone to check this and ensure the warning lights are functioning correctly. Also if trim is missing or damaged, replacements will not be available from the factory and can be difficult to source. It would have been nice to see the 'Corrado Forum' mentioned as great resource for owners and fans.

Thanks Dragon Green. I must have the later type so the problem is with a booster behind the radio. Just need to refit the aerial and get all the trim back!

Hi All, This is the aerial base I have removed from my late 1995 Corrado. It has been suggested that poor radio reception may be due to the amplifier in the base failing. Does anyone no if this base contains an amplifier? There does not appear to be a separate power lead, but I read somewhere that the power may be fed via the coaxial cable. Any advise gratefully received as I don't want to spent £25 replacing a part that is ok. Thanks

I'm looking at sorting out a few more issues with my car. Can anyone confirm whether the passenger side electric window switch is illuminated? My current switch appears to be held in place with glue and I suspect the metal clips are lying in the door trim and are the source of an annoying rattle. Thanks

If I hadn't spent a small fortune on mine, I would definitely be interested. I'm sure it will sell easily and go to a good home, cars of this quality don't turn up often.
-
Looks like it is for sale again unless I have missed something. This guy has only owned it a couple of weeks.

I don't suppose they left a note!! I wouldn't waste my money with a smart repair. A good body shop shop be able to knock the dent out and respray the panel.

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C516962 Apparently he now realises he has made a mistake buying it, or the wife has. I hope it's no one on here!
-
Thank.s. I'll look them up. I had the car towed to John Mitchell in Littlehampton, the problem was with connector on one of the breather pipes.
-
Should be a good investment. I've always liked these and 1990's replacements.
-
Are these recent asking prices unreasonable? I would argue not: 1. There is no doubt some negotiation room and perhaps a part exchange deal to be had. 2. The prices of other classic cars are on the rise. You could easily pay £10k for low mileage MGB and there are thousands of these on the road. 3. Restoration costs are very high. £4k to £5k for a decent respray. Engine refurbishment and mechanical works are not cheap and what happens if you need a gutter trim for the roof.

What design features of the Corrado keeps it so "upto date"?
MarkR replied to Mawrick's topic in Off-topic Chat
Not sure I would call it an up to date design. However in my view it was always a well proportioned and neat design. -
My VR6 is with John for the next week or so. He is carrying out a lot of work to the underside including the brakes and rear beam. I'm happy to give feedback when the work is completed but so far I have found him very conscientious in his approach.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but my search of the forum has drawn a blank. I decided to give the Corrado a spin today as it has not left the garage for over a month. The car started fine, but then there was a bang a lot of smoke and the engine refused to idle or rev smoothly. Unfortunately the car is far from driveable and I think I am going to have to get the AA to tow it to a garage. I live about 10 miles south of Maidstone, and I wondered whether anyone could recommend a garage to work on the Corrado? Thanks

I live in hope, if only to justify the work I have planned.

These people did a fantastic job on mine and for less than the cost of the insurance excess!. They are a long way from Plymouth but I'm sure they will be happy to give you some advice over the phone. http://www.kdskeltec.co.uk/
