  1. Listers VW Stratford Upon Avon are taking orders and medium postage delivery £5.00 UK . Lovely lady called Tanya who knew how to work Etka better then my normal vag parts guy from Johnsons, also gave me 10 percent discount on the whole order- just said I was a mechanic/ diy classic cars. Listers Stratford Upon Avon call 01789 294477 and ask for parts.
  2. Looks like this engine that was for sale on gumtree came off a Golf VR6 Jap import. https://www.gumtree.com/p/car-replacement-parts/vw-2.8-vr6-engine-gearbox-complete-20k-miles/1328261767
  3. That's the baby! There is a 2.8 strip decal as well that is higher on the thread I posted , so they might of stuck them to AAA engines as well. Would be a good piece to get a 3d copy but agree wouldn't want to risk cracking it taking it off.
  4. This is the last Vin WVWZZZ50ZSK004043 , so mine is i 1595 to come off the production line last. Wonder who has the youngest one out there . Sure I think its a Storm in the VW museum and top gear did a production of it from memory.
  5. Sorry the sticker is on the left side of the cam cover as looking into the engine bay- not unusual for it be missing as only a sticker. The ABV stamp though as Sean says is pretty rock solid and also accompanying documentation.
  6. Sure its an ABV. interesting to see the quirks of a Japanese car , your car last digits are S 1010 and mine is S 2448 so not a million miles away from each other on production. Is it fair to come to a conclusion now that these engine strips came on Japanese cars - the Japanese Yanase dealers might of even put them like UK dealers put the Storm badges on. Does anyone know what was the last production chassis number for a Corrado is ???
  7. Can see ABV- have you got a picture of the sticker mate if its still there. Its bizarre that they didn't just put a DOHC cover on there - I think it looks good though the red 2.9 trim.
  8. Are you 100 percent your car is an ABV 2.9 mate- have you got a picture of the engine number on a sticker on the side of the block next to the airbox and fuel lines.
  9. Be interesting to know is the car complete and still with the owner.
  10. Good find think his car was from Japan . I have looked at all markets and there is only one part number for a Corrado VR6 engine trim and that is 021133286E'. I have seen errors and also parts that are missing off these diagrams in the past though.
  11. You can see on the link below you could buy one new. Not sure if it was early or came in this form in different countries. Many pictures of this trim in this colour code. 021133286E https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/sound-abs/021133286e/ https://www.urotuning.com/products/engine-cover-with-red-vr6-lettering-and-blue-vw-mk3-12v-vr6-021133286e
  12. Yep 2.8 trim AAA and 2.9 DOHC ABV- and Ford has ugly V6 trim. Would be good to know what that trim is off that has been stuck on the engine trim on first picture on thread - might not even have been an original vag part. It looks to me like a side rubber decal that runs alongside of a car behind a fender. Or might well have been an engine trim decal.
  13. Did so mate. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/sound-abs/021133286e/
  14. Galaxy had a cover with ford and V6 on it .
  15. IMO it is not factory and the strip although OE at some point has been glued on.
  16. Dox you are a genius - I think it is a decal from the side trim of vag VR 2.8 and the 8 had been changed into a 9 and stuck onto to the trim 😀
  17. Dont worry Dox when he sees how much a 2,9 trim sells for he will love the little AAA cover ha.
  18. How come the early VR came painted with the writing in red and blue VW emblem and later ones just in silver , did they run out of paint in the Karmann factory ha ?
  19. Fitted these the other week and look fine and fit great. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pcs-Seat-Tilt-Handle-Trim-Cover-Cap-For-VW-Jetta-Golf-MK2-Corrado-Scirocco/402002267809?hash=item5d9933cea1:g:eBUAAOSw4URd-dVY 165 881 607165 881 607
  20. The caps for 14 are a different part number and cheaper - you can get a set of 15 caps for around £200.00- £450 based on condition I think the 15 caps are the same as RS and also a huge amount of E30 came with the 15 RZ mesh so are very sought after. Witness the greed of the scene tax. . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-SET-4-BBS-RS-15-WAFFLES-HEX-NUTS-09-24-032-038-SMALL-THREAD-001-033/324101990068?hash=item4b75fbe6b4:g:R2AAAOSwegReXurO
  21. I've got a MK2 BIg Bumper brochure as well if people want me to load that up.
  22. I really like the RZ - want some for my Golf in 15, but all of them are missing the centre caps and a set of caps sell for between 200- 300 , almost seems a hassle owning them incase the caps get stolen. You will be £750 in after caps sourced and alloys refurbished- getting to close to RM figures and know which I would prefer. By the way the RZ looking great on a 4 stud Rado if you can get a complete set for a good price. Anyone ever owned some of the 6 star Volkswagenwerk alloys - they must be as rare as rocking horse poo. One here brand new in 14 - the vag ones came withh a BBS emblem and BMW in 15 came with a BMW emblem . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BBS-RZ-305-Alloy-Wheel-6-x-14-NOS-VW-Golf-Gti-MK2-BMW-3-Series/202896931232?hash=item2f3d9979a0:g:spkAAOSw-ZJeHPZ9
  23. 100 percent better off buying genuine, its a job you don't want to do again for a long time . One symptom of a failing ignition switch I have stumbled across in the past is the car will only start if you turn the key really fast and firm. Unfortunately the dealers are closed at the moment but I purchased one about 3 months ago and was about £38.00 - just tell dealer you can get cheaper elsewhere - you know what they can go down to now the stealers ha. I know Johnsons dealerships are closed but Im going to try some more today (Listers). If the car has been sitting for a long time could be the fuel and filter adding to the situation.
  24. Had this original brochure out earlier and good to see the optional VW aftermarket alloys - Ronals on there as well. As you can see what we call BBS RZ for a Corrado are actually a BBS RJ. The RZ on show came in a 14 for a Golf - BMW E30 15. . Never seen one of the Volkwagenwerk 6 star splits very nice.
  25. Cool mate, well best of luck selling the parts and thank you for the few parts you sold and posted to me last year.
