  1. Brown is always Neg or Earth on VW looms.
  2. Yup, Eurocarparts are an ATE dealer so should be able to get an OE one for you.
  3. Either VW one from TPS or a Bosch Silver from Halfords (5 year warranty) Should be about £60 if you have a Halfords Trade card??
  4. Yep, all plugs, terminals and repair wires available from VAG. Just tried to tool on a Headlight switch loom and an electric Window and Mirror loom and it works on every plug! You simply slot in the plug side and pull the wire out the other... Fusebox plugs are interesting though, they seem to have an extra lock that slides across so you need to remove these bits first.
  5. Indeed - I'd also be worries about the state of the fuel pipes next to all that unwrapped wiring!
  6. Neither - buy a VW one!
  7. Yep, VW do the housing as a kit with the filter.
  8. Have you sourced an engine then Henny (or a complete front end would probably be a better idea)?
  9. Sorry just to be clear. Either of these will work without aircon? Yep - the tensioner will allow for the extra... you might find a 1635 works but difficult to get the tensioner on if it's a newish one.
  10. Not for a Corrado they don't - a 95 on VR6 Golf kit comes with the front banjo hoses for the ATE brake setup but the rear beam and rear caliper hoses are all the same.
  11. I've only tested a couple so far but seems to work - got it from Bennetts on Foxhall Road by the way John - they had to order it but came in next day..
  12. Basically the VW terninals have 2 locking tabs that clip into the plug, that tool simply pushes in and releases them properly so the plug / wire can be re-used.
  13. Indeed, I'm not usually a fan of cheap tools (and Laser make some real rubbish) but this seems to do the job well and the VW version costs nearly £30
  14. This is what you need for releasing the terminals from OE plugs - very useful tool to have for loom type stuff along with some Scapa cloth tape. Got mine locally from Bennetts for £5.70 + vat http://www.bennetts.com/electrical-sold ... 683706.php Slightly cheaper from here online - £4.80 +vat http://www.toolsheduk.com/Q/444/2/4/Terminal-Tool.html
  15. It's from a Passat of the same era - still available new from VW
  16. Indeed - I drove a Scirocco with the engine a couple of weeks ago and it's not slow at all - The Corrado weighs a lot less and handles better! Henny - as far as I know no one has done this yet but it's exactly what I'd be looking at doing now as the price of Diesel is going up. You can get the engine manual and self study off ErWin if you've not already.
  17. Yep - looks like a 1.4 TSI to me - superb engine and about time someone fitted something nice and light to a Corrado and keep the 4cyl Handling as is should be.
  18. Is it ABS? If not I have a brand new VAG one you can have for £75 posted... Easy enough to change yourself if you are used to doing brakes / bleeding etc. If it is ABS then the MC is £250 on it's own so go for it!
  19. I dunno guys - it's a pretty rare book and over the last few years most I have seen go on eBay for £100- £150 and they are not new / sealed like that. EDIT - just looking at the other stuff, the last Revell / Zender kit I saw on the bay went for over £250 - be interesting to see what this fetches...
  20. Very nice and tidy - I think the scuttle is just the SWG item is it not?
  21. Yeah blimey - last time I bought one it was £33ish but that was probably 2-3 years ago and I know some stuff has doubled in price recently! I still wouldnt bother with 2nd hand though - you could try somewhere like pirtek and see if they will copy the old one with stainless fittings...
  22. It's just a pipe - get a new one from VW, no point replacing a part like this with second hand!
  23. No, they are w@nk, or certainly were in the old days. No, nothing to do with Storm Developements - Engineuner and Storm Performance are run by two brothers and they are Rice / Subaru 'specialists' - pretty poor rep from what I've heard!
