  1. VW do them as a seal kit - 030 198 031 (which is Bosch 1 287 010 704) Or, seperate bits can be bought from Bosch... In the above kit you get - 1x 1 280 423 712 = Protective sleeve (Yellow) 3x 1 20 210 711 = O Rings 1x 1 280 320 052 = Support Ring (grey)
  2. You need to remove the metal bracket that holds the bottom of the bumper and spoiler to the rad support crossmember (5 x 10mm head I think) Then the 4 (2 each side) x 17mm headed M10 bolts which go thru the engine front crossmember - you must support the engine when removing the bumber and never attempt to drive the car without!! You might have to remove a couple of the 8mm bolts holding the arch liners on so you can pull the bumper fwd and round these, then it's just a case of unplugging the lights (you may need to release the wiring depending on what year it is or just disconnect the bulbs from the indicators. Really need 2 people as it's heavy!
  3. Riley - Give me a shout if you want a knock sensor, I have a new one thats just been on the car for a couple of months to try..
  4. Right, got that slightly wrong - the FP run-on is controlled by the Rad Fan control unit in the engine bay indirectly as it activates the 'Fuel retardation relay 90' which all G60's should have in position 14 (clipped above position 2 on the main fusebox)
  5. Those are quite old mate - ECU relay is now '30' and Fuel Pump should be '167' I think the fuel pump run-on is controlled by the control unit near the expansion tank on ABS cars.
  6. Normal thread... it bi metal corrosion and overtightening which is causing them to fail - dealers are changing them all the time now!
  7. Did you actually get seals for the rack itself then or is it ok?? Those track rods don't look quite right - should be 6 sided so you can get to them in situ but for putting onto the rack off the car should be fine... You'll need clips for the gaiters and make sure you manually prime the pump (turn by hand with belt off) when you refill...
  8. Who sends cash via Royal Mail too (they won't insure it) Even if he doesn't have a bank account he should be able to pay cash straight into your over the counter... (with your details of course) Hope you get it sorted but this has been noted by the mods - the Gimp is currently dealing with the member formally known as Jimmi but when he's finished I will send him onto his next task....
  9. I have a G60 list but not VR, I ended up buying loads of the feckers - spent around £70 of clips!
  10. Yes but where physically on the car does this fit - at the very back near the tailpipe??
  11. So are we talking about the hanger that is at the very rear of the car?? I have a standard MK3 one that might fit - I will have a look over weekend and post part number if it does...
  12. I'm not sure Dave, I think the bar is just the difference between a Golf and Corrado one...
  13. I'd never use jubilee's on the standard rubber hoses but you need something a bit stronger on silicon, especially boost hoses... I used Mikalors on mine, expensive and have gone rusty within 3 years altho I think they do full marine grade stainless now!
  14. The difference is the roll bar - the G60 one is huge compared to a 16v GTI
  15. Hiya - it's just 4 x M6 Machine screws to hold the hinge to the bracket with the plastic tunnel in between acting as a washer... The problem I think you have if it's a late 16V is that you don't have the chassis bracket on the car so you may need to weld / fab something up...
  16. They are about £50 (with discount) from VW.
  17. Common MK4 part - they should always keep these in stock!
  18. Check your chassis number, upto 50-M-035000 you need 350mm or 425mm thereafter.
  19. Yep thats fine, that bolt should be 85-90mm rather than the standard 75 and should be torque'd to 70Nm Make sure you spray some white grease on the ties that attach it to the beam as they go rusty as fooook...
  20. Yep - you need a large socket for one side and a bit of scaffold for the other... (or a very large socket!)
  21. Go to Halfords as they use a Bosch tester that will test the car also.
  22. Late MK3 VR6 (95 on) and you may need new banjo bolts if the calipers are off a MK4 as the thread pitch changes.
  23. Halfords (with trade card) but GSF also sell them...
