    What clay bar

Depends how heavily contaminated the car is but TBH pretty much any clay bar will do a good job. I have used Sonus, Dodo and Bilt Hamber and been happy with them all. Elite Car Care own brand are also very good value for money
  4. Coullstar - slightly OT, I thought the FXX that were sold are kept by Ferrari in Maranello and delivered to various trackdays. They are not road legal and owners were invited to buy the car by Ferrari, only the longest standing and most loyal customers were considered.
  5. There is a guy on Detailing World doing 1/4 pots of Swissvax Best of Show at the moment. Got mine last month and its an awesome wax - could in no way justify £145 for a full pot but a 1/4 pot made sense - affordable but still enough to put 7 / 8 layers on a car / cars. Comes complete with Certificate of Authenticity and in a double skinned pot, even sent recorded delivery - being sold for £40.99 so he is not even making a profit out of it. Drop me a PM if you want the link or just head over to www.detailingworld.co.uk and look in the Samples section From Swissvax website Best of Show - Enriched with passion fruit and apricot oil extracts containing 51% by volume of ultra pure Brazilian non bleached Grade One carnauba wax. Best of Show wax gives your paintwork a lustre ordinarily encountered only on prize winning classics. Best of Show win at European Concous d'Elegance in Dusseldorf.200ml £145 + p&p
  6. Personally I would save some money and buy the cheaper, better equipped and in my opinion better looking S3
  7. Went out in a Scirocco R on Friday - very impressive but not 30k impressive
  8. I haven't seen the car seen UD in 2009 but I have never seen a more desirable C - the whole package is so well thought through and nothing has been sacrificed in the quest for any specific thing. It takes what the Corrado was at its peak and enhanced every area - if I could build my dream C it would not be very different from what Shaun has created
  9. Pure electric seems like a blind alley to me. Hydron fuel cells are a realistic but longer-term better bet, biggest challenge is the infrastructure network required to provide refuelling points. Best short-term option seems to be the range extender electric vehicle like the upcoming Chevrolet Volt / Vauxhall Ampera. Runs purely on electric power but has a small capacity petrol engine that recharges the batteries as and when required - absolutely no connection between the engine and driven wheels. Renault / Nissan seem to have staked everything on pure electric - Renault have committed to a range of 4 pure electric vehicles within the next 5 years - I wish them well but fear the worst.
  10. I believe the block is indeed the stronger block from the S3
  11. Audi and VW pricing has gone crazy but not as crazy as Ford pricing. Model for model the Fiesta is about 1.5K more expensive than a Polo, Focus (ST / RS excepted) is about £1k more than a Golf. Back on topic, I'd take an Ed30 Golf over a Scirocco every time
  12. I know someone with 20 unregistered cars, ten De Loreans, 5 MGB GT LE's and 5 MGB LE roadsters. Think its a crying shame, cars are built to be driven. Wonder if the bloke who has bought 10 Aston Martin One-77's will register them all
  13. Using heavy duty fixings that do not go through the plate, will be putting them on the car at the weekend
  14. Interesting stuff from Dubmeister - got the pressed acrylic ones now and I'm happy with them - probably more in keeping with the age of the car anyway
  15. Sub 20k coupes: 1. Porsche 993 2. Alfa Romeo SZ 3. Lancia Fulvia 4. TVR Cerbera 5. MK1 Jaguar XKR
  16. Got a set delivered this morning, acrylic but with gel domed lettering - 100% legal, even have the suppliers postcode as per legal requirements - great quality and service http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/plate-mate1__W0QQ_armrsZ1 The ones I got are about 3/4 of the way down the page - £29.99 delivered for a pair
  17. Seems like banning refuelling has had a detrimental impact - summed up by the comment about Button - "He didn't leapfrog Rosberg in the pits so he now has no chance of getting past him" - sad that the majority of overtaking in F1 is done by pitstops
  18. Pity it only bears a passing resemblance to a 430

    What Air Freshener?

The new car one from California Scents is great, as is the Yankee Candle leather one
  20. Dealers have been instructed to take deposits from "interested parties" - if enough interest is registered then it will be more likely to become a production reality
  21. I suppose for some the fun is in the creating - if I'd built that I'd be keeping it and enjoying it
  22. Don't think its bad value either http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1517192.htm
  23. Wayoyl is OK but this is better http://www.bilthamber.com/hydrate80.html http://www.bilthamber.com/dynaxs50.html
  24. Had five full Millteks on five cars and only had one problem which was rectified at no cost within 24 hours As good as any other system on the market
  25. Logic can be very illogical :D
