  1. Now here's a surprising list http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/18112010/36/be ... med-0.html
  2. Which model is it? The 1.8 16v has an additional bleed valve in the clutch line mounted on the bulkhead. Follow the pipe back and you'll find it. May help, fingers crossed.
  3. After treating it to a new voltage regulator it spat the dummy and threw out the drive belt. Ended up taking the power steering pump off to replace it. The allen bolts that hold the pulley on were impossible to shift.
  4. That what she who must be obeyed calls mine! Coincidence or what.
  5. Fitted a new regulator to the alternator. Got electricity now. What a difference for under a tenner.
  6. There are two ways to go here. I had this hose leak and replaced it on a temporary basis with the feed hose from a propane tank to the heater it was supplying. It's still there after four years. The other is to remove the valves altogether and join the hoses with copper piping and delete the valves. The last is balanced with whether the heater matrix has been replaced as the valves were a recall item to prevent matrixes filling the footwell with boiling water. Later matrix's (Matrices?) are supposedly stronger.
  7. It sounds very much as if your switch is on the way out and as you are getting some reaction from the MFA when you fiddle with the switch suggests it is not helping. Have a look here for switches that fit and I would advise a quick read through the whole thread. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=92789&start=30#p1070562
  8. My Corrado moment was when I first sat in it and thought, it's mine, and smiled so wide the top of my head was going to fall off. I still do it, look back when I've parked it, and most annoyingly, never shur up about it.
  9. Be careful what you think. It's a Corrado!!
  10. I found the easiest way to check the cold start injector was to unbolt it (2 Allen screws) when the car is cold and get someone to crank it over while pointing the invector into a glass jar. It should spray petrol in a cone into the jar while cranking. Stop cranking, wipe the injector dry and wait a couple of minutes too see if the injector leaks petrol. If it does basically it's foobarred but this would not be your current prob;em as leaking would not affect the cold running. More likely to result in lousy MPG. Two birds with one stone. Replace the valve, start the car and run it up to temp. (over 30 degrees C is the cut off figure I think) then quickly remove the injector again and try cranking the motor again. There should be no petrol ejected. Cold start system checked by undoing 2 screws twice. Not being electrically minded I find this easier to do than checking resistances and things with amps amd volts and multimeters.
  11. If the plug ends (electrodes etc that are actually inside the head) are free of oil and not black and "Shiney" as distict from "sooty" and only the threads are actually covered in oil it is more likely that the rocker cover gasket is leaking oil into the plug recess. There is a separate sort of central gasket that seals around the plug recess in the rocker cover/ cylinder head gasket which can leak and cover the extrior of the plug with oil. Get a paper towel and roll it into around tube type thing and push it into the plug recess in the head and see if it comes out withhevy oil staining. Theoretically there should be no oil there.
  12. First, buy a bottle of Wolfblass Yellow Label, pour a large glass and sit and consider while watching your Corrado (bonnet up). See viewtopic.php?f=10&t=93629 for further options.
  13. Used to be a fireman, retired. Retrained and became an IT guy, redundant. Now a domestic assistant in a care home for dementia sufferers. I'm also a published poet and perform at venues all over Scotland. I've had short stories published and a novel currently with an agent. Just to really annoy audiences I also sing traditional folk music. None of these are particularly good at income generation. To continue the theme of earning little or nothing I'm a director of Read Raw Ltd, a writing collective set up to promote creative writing, http://www.readrawltd.co.uk/About.html , and I'm also heavily involved in a new bookshop which we have opened in West Kilbride in the past year. Someday it might even make a profit. I'm contemplating a factual book on the importance if wine in the extermination of ants on your patio!!
  14. I can see the Corrado in it but a couple of points annoy me about it. The almost straight swage line across the door looks out of place and if they had continued the upward sweep on the rear quarter instead of turning it back down it would make it much better.. It also looks a bit on the overweight side in the above view as if it's profile has been determined by the wheel size. But then, I'm not a car designer and as I'll never be able to afford one I'll find something wrong just to justify not buying it. Yours grumpily Wullie
  15. A definite NO. They look crass, even on cars that have been designed with them on.
  16. I saw one!! I saw one  Blue 16v J ***MAO at JR Volkswagen in Paisley. Was in for it's MOT, hope it passed
  17. Don't think it was THIS pensioner. I don't remember driving that slow on any B roads recently - but that might just be 'cos of the Alzheimer's. Nah wasn't you! I don't think of you as a 'pensioner' anyway, so please don't feel you are part of my generalisation when I use that word :D Same goes for Wullie. From now on I shall refer to 'Sunday drivers' as "Senior citizens who don't drive a Corrado". I approve of the new terminology. What's a Corrado? I remember something about that.
  18. Yeah. The Chiraz ran out, we drank it all so the ale was the next choice. I really am going to bed now.
  19. Not the pub actually, was doing my poetry thing, (now with suitable music in places) and indulging in copious quantities of free Jacob's Creek Chiraz and really reasonably priced real ale. Only problem is I'm early shift tomorrow, er, today.

Remember to wear your oldest jeans and a torn jumper
  21. Dear Fulltimejunglist. I have been driving since 1966, probably since before your father was a glint in your grandfather's eye. I have never had any points on my licence, I have never been responsible for an accident and have been pulled about half a dozen times in all. I am NOT a slow driver, I own a Corrado because I like fast smart unique cars. Previous cars include an E-type Jag and a Corvette Stingray so I am no shrinking violet when it comes to looking for speed. If you come onto a forum looking for sympathy using suitably misspelt foul language because you have bee pulled for the 25th time, or does that make it 26? I would not be calling other forum members fags because they may feel some doubt about your driving style, car or whatever. I'm not really that interested to be honest. Get the chip off your shoulder, learn to spell and realise that that the use of obscenities only indicates a lack of knowledge of your native tongue. As someone has said previously as you sow, so shall you reap. I am not a religious man, despite the previous quote, but I think you should have another look at what's going on, especially yourself. I sometimes fail to understand why people modify their cars illegally, number plates, decatting, overloud exhausts or whatever then run crying when they are justifiably pulled and done for it Get a (proper) life.

I went to my local Autoglass depot looking suitably pauperish and asked if they could recommend something. They fitted it there and then using some two part stuff and wouldn't even accept the price of a few beers. Might be worth a try as it's been there for 6 or 7 years now. I had prevoiusly used several useless concoctions from Halfords and the like.
