Got mine today, thanks Jon

Some photos might help lmao

I agree ^^^^ You aren’t looking at a quick turnaround anymore in my opinion the pitting need drilling/grinding out and welding before skimming. The orange staining on the head around the valves in the last photo suggests water ingress. So you don’t waste money you need a plan that involves others which costs money, but there is nothing worse than spending time and effort doing something that needs to be done again because you were tight in the first place and then you loose heart.

Spal fan wiring and constant full speed dash switch

Hasan Look what got delivered £20. The third photo is the fan part numbers that came with that plug on them the last phot are the numbers stamped on the plug. I messaged the guy to cut off the wires at the fan, and post that, he agreed but then sent me the whole thing anyway. It fits Perfectly. Now to find which one is which, number 3 speed is easy. -
That’s what I meant lol :)
-
Could it be that the relay for the normal headlight operation is sticking in off, may need a new relay on that one.

No worries Jon makes a change it’s not easypops lol

Look at this bad boy. 20 amp draw, I think it would fit where the powered fan sits. You could switch it on manually when in traffic without the engine running to creep foward. -

That’s what I want swiftkid. Only one fan on when speed one triggers two fans on when temps go higher. Found Durite do an in-line 10amp diode. Should be enough. £4 each off EBay -
Mine has a arrived, thank you very much Matt. Looks sweet some double sided tape should keep it in.

I think I’ll use the same size fans and I think I’ll wire it like this unless someone thinks a different way is better as I’m no sparky but it makes sense to me. You could put a diode on each one for piece of mind but I think that is the minimum you would need, based on you guys are running without diodes at the mo without problems. -
Good luck with the resuscitation mate.

I’d try and get hold of a new door lock mech if the handle seems ok lilfuzzer might have one. Is the movement on the central locking pump ok ?
-
If grab hold of the bit of roof lining that moves backwards and forwards with the sunroof, can you feel any movement if you push it forward slightly. If you can its not locked in properly and the bit that catches and channels the water away is not in position to do so.

Do you get a damp roof lining around the sunroof or drips on the seat or both.

Hasan I wonder if you just wired one fan on the first trigger and not the second then at low temps you would just have one fan running. So should be quieter on low temps without resister business. I bet the other fan would never need to come on unless the low temp one packed in. Need to get me one of those plugs too I think this is what I’m going to do. Ready for when my fan packs in and I know it will at some point. Did people use diodes or wire up like in the guide without the need for them. So one fan is to all three feeds and one fan to two feeds, does this make sense. Wires do my nut in but that makes sense to me. Lmao -

I mean, once you get your plugs sorted are you just going for one speed, full power, or are you going to try and get the fan to produce 3 speeds using resisters or such. What have you done with your loom. -

Lmao ^^^^^^ I think swiftkid is right I could feel it doing something when I pushed my single pin in, need another single to push into the hole on the other side of the spade and it should pull out, but I haven’t got one yet. Have you worked out what you are going to do with wiring once you get a plug solution Hasan. -
No worries, Up for grabs then. Cheers Hasan Mk6 or scirocco, no buttons like rocking horse poo. I attached a bottom of an old Corrado wheel to it, so it self cancels the indicator too. My good wife managed to get one for my now only car so don’t really need another one.
-
You will find 2 blue ones as well. Do not plug any of them together, there will be trouble. They will be plugs and connections for things your car didn’t have fitted. No idea what though.

I tried to go for something like that, they do look nice. Schmidt do something similar 17" SCHMIDT Racelite Cup 3pc. Google this and rimstyle are their uk agents. I was put off by the offset et you end up with and having to use stretch tyres to get them in and with my previous experience with 17 x 8 didn’t fancy the ride that gives. Dare do something similar and say 7.5” et35 But for that money not a split rim. https://m.wheelbasealloys.com/alloy-wheels/dare/f5/silver/17-inch

If Bramble doesn’t want it I will consider selling to others. It does look nice in that car though.
