Wait till you try and fit a new sunroof seal. What a complete bar steward of an afternoon that is lmao.

Interesting Dox. So if he follows the photo and no light could be fan controller OR the yellow sender you say
-
I don’t know why Jon. Even with ignition off Wheatley yellow plug is plugged in or not the fans will come on. As you can see. Power to fans if low temp triggered.
-
I think the above is mostly correct but, The sender/sensor in the rad does stages 1 and 2 that’s why it’s three pin. The yellow one has something to do with after run. It’s all in the guide which I have used to prove my older sender wasn’t working properly. If you bridge the plug from Red to Red and White - stage 1 should come on Red to Red and Black - stage 2 should come on If you remove the plug from the fan and put a test light from the red and white wire to ground and bridge the Red to Red and White on the rad sensor plug, the test light should light up. If it doesn’t there is something wrong with the controller as pfnsht says. Below is a picture of the plug you need to remove and bridge. Your ignition needs to be on. When you turn the ignition on you should also here the electric secondary water pump come on for a bit. If you don’t here anything you need to investigate this too.

They come up with all sorts of tosh sometimes grrrrr -
Nice photo. Obviously not a Corrado owners garage.

This explains how to check if your sensors are operating the fans. Just have to bridge a couple of plugs. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?38925-The-definitive-VR6-cooling-guide

You can fit the led ones to your normal fluorescent units, you just need to alter the wiring a bit so it’s direct 240v at one end without the starter/ballast in the circuit.

Is there pressure in the fuel line in the morning ?

Spal fan wiring and constant full speed dash switch

I know what you are saying but if it carries on rising I need to stop. The manual switch I’ve wired in is battery fed so I can turn it on anytime even when the ignition is off both fans are on if I want, I did it like this to keep it fairly simple utilising as much of the loom as I thought safe. On the brief testing I’ve had since installed it’s doing what it should so I should be good. Most cars only have two stage these days so I should be good. Also if temps get too hot you get a warning on the dash if you aren’t paying attention to temps but I’m temp crazy as the turbo keeps you coming on your toes. -

I cut 2 off 280mm holes in it and 7mm holes to suit which ever fan used for fixings, used 6mm stainless bolts for fixings, you don’t need anything special as there is plenty of room between the rad core and the bottom of the new cowling. I didn’t bother wiring the third stage in, as if stage 2 can’t cope you are out of options. I did wire a switch in so I can manually bring them both in when I want. -

I haven’t really got time at the moment Hasan to do anymore but if you or anyone else wants to get the plate made using the dimensions I used, happy to help, the photo is a quick sketch that I gave to the sheet metal works. -

I have built my fan unit tested it and fitted it, believe or not it actually went really well. Had to fettle the holes a bit for the after market rad but no dramas things went that fast and it was spitting I forgot to take more photos. -
If it’s not the electrical connection to the solenoid/actuator there is a soldered joint if you trace the plug wires back in the loom to the bottom of the door, this joint can corrode and cause problems too. I think I’m talking about the same thing as Bauhaus

I bought the plate cut and folded to shape 3mm aluminium from sheet metal works in Rotherham £45 then cut it with a jigsaw where needed. Hopefully I’ll see if it fits later fingers crossed it does. -

Think I got my bracket made. I say think because I haven’t test fitted to the car yet. But Corrado people are optimists. -

Sorry Geeba that fan with the plastic bracket is off a Sharan, but it’s plug (male)fits onto the Corrado fan plug (female), so you don’t have to cut the Corrado loom. -

No Corrado type plug. Mk5 plug is slightly smaller but you can get both ends of the mk5 plug easier from the scrap yards. -

My understanding is the diode goes on the positive side towards the fan like in my sketch if you want it to not power fan 2 on speed one. All earths are/can be connected in some way. I also found this while researching, but can’t confirm it.I can confirm that this photo is WRONG ! This is Correct :- Red & White. - Low speed Red & Black. - Med speed Red & Green. - High speed -
There is a man in Cardiff on Facefeck selling all. He got 2 heads for sale one of which has been refurbished for £500 it’s a TSR or TSW head ported I think. If you aren’t on give me a shout and I’ll get the wife to get his number if you are interested.
