Tabs ordered today. 68p each from TPS for future reference.
-
They're coming in under Audi. Should be season after next from what I understand. Think it was the whole reason Stefano Dominicalli was hired by them.
-
Haha, don't fluck it up Matt!
-
Just ordered a few from TPS, £2.80 each if anyone wants to know...........
-
Ah yes, explains why the paint is down to primer in that area on the Aqua one too! :thumbleft:
-
Legend! Thanks Jim. Most of the plastic tabs are a bit knackered now so I'll get some of them ordered as well. Thanks mate! :thumbleft:
-
No its not Michael. The photo isn't very good sorry, there are two of them. The top one is flipped over in the pic. I thought they could be seals under the quarter panel windows or something similar, and the tabs look to keep them in place maybe?

These were in the car when it came back from paint, so I can only expect that they came from somewhere! I've had a look on the other Corrado, and I can't see anywhere where they would go. I'm sure I've seen the tabs in the second pic somewhere, but can't for the life of me remember where from! Whatever they are, its time for them to go back now so any help is much appreciated! :thumbleft:

As an ebay troller of all things Corrado, I genuinely think they are on the rise. 2-3 years ago the dregs that had been run into the ground were going for £500-900 in 16v form, and even VR6s could be had for much less than a grand. There are a few of these still about now, but heres the difference, they are much fewer in numbers. It was easy to pick up a decent one for around £1500 at the time too, but I think you'd have to add another 50% on top of that for a reasonable one now. This time of year will always reduce car prices, but even so there are some very nice examples around lately. The ones with engine conversions are seemingly very hard to sell, whereas the absolute original ones are being advertised way overpriced. This increases the expectations in cost to the general public, so those ones with light modifications which the vast majority are, are seeing the benefit. The examples I'm giving above are for cars with a buy it now price, or a classified listing. Those going through auction are hard to judge as it depends on who/how many are at the bidding table. Good cars can still be had at a steel, but its worth viewing before bidding as many people are lazy and won't bother, which means prices will remain low as they are reluctant to pay what its actually worth without seeing.

This country gets more like a police state every year

Surely common sense should prevail here. Most meets of any substance will have been organised by clubs, so injunctions can be placed on said clubs organising further meets if it's members don't behave themselves. I'm sure it's not as cut and dried as the article suggest, as this would include all classic car gatherings of which many of the members will be a little more "mature", and with vehicles that are probably incapable of doing burnouts! As it has said, it's "convenient" for the Police to ban everything associated with these meets, but it tars all motoring enthusiasts with the same brush. As for fracking, we'll leave that for another thread/debate shall we............... -
Ahh looks so familiar! You'll have fun putting it all back together let me tell you mate!
-
Where do you find all these sets of speedlines! Want!
-
That's a good price. They're not worth a huge amount, but for 6 with plenty of life left in tyres, they should sell pretty quickly at that price.
-
I've had the same thoughts recently but decided against it in the end as my fronts are near new and rears have about 10k left in them. I think grooved look best unless you have massive disks behind the wheels. They'd be lost behind standard Speedlines regardless though I think.
-
No mate. The dipstick should just fit snugly into the guide tube.
-
Bugger! I ordered a load of little bits from Heritage/classic parts on Friday. Could have done with these too but didn't think they were available. Oh well, that'll have to be included in the next order then!

Ooh shiny! Thanks on my to do list next winter Theo. Looks ace and glad you are planning for the future with the car, after the little wobble a few months back! :thumbleft:

Haha, I've got an Aqua Blue VR that needs a new home early next year Daren............Needs a bit of work though!

Is that the one that was on Watchdog last week Jim? It was truely impossible to hill start on a steep incline!
-
Where are you located?
-
Follow your battery earth down. Theres a little post just to the back left of the battery. I'd start with that one. Also starter motor, and the right hand side of the block as you're looking at it. Remove them all, wire brush with some WD40 both the cables and the earth points, wipe them down and re-attach. Internally the main one is just behind the drivers side vent behind the dash. Shouldn't be any problems really with that unless you've been tinkering with your wiring. There are a few others in various locations, but those are the main ones I think.

Its only 3 months Stella. See if you can leave it on a family members drive, or rent a garage or parking space for the period. I'm away for 8 months from April so I've rented a garage from the Local Authority.

£35 + postage seems to be the going rate.
