  1. Love it James, always had a soft spot for a Cav. As mentioned, my old man had 5 one after another through the years so I've always been fond of them. Now get it out of the bloody rain!!!!
  2. Looks cracking, can't beat fresh paint! :thumbleft:
  3. Pretty sure they're available from Heritage, but it's just a sheet so you have to cut them to shape. Probably better off just finding something similar elsewhere for a fraction of the cost mate.
  4. I agree with Chris on this Jim. Yours is better than your giving it credit for. We all agonise over the small details and there's very few who won't be able to point out a dozen things wrong with their car. I've spent a huge amount of time, effort and money on mine yet I could still do that. I know it's given you a rough ride the last year or so, but there simply won't be anything that will cost much to put right if it does break down. I know your thinking from a reliability perspective, but I don't think any of the problems you've had have meant you couldn't make a journey within 10 minutes on finding the problem? How much will the lease cost you over the 2 years - that money can be put towards the Corrado in preventative maintenance ie Changing out sensors, abs components, wheel bearings etc when you have time. Or save that to be put toward paint as that seems to be what's most on your mind. Stick with it mate, take it for what it is and remember how good it really is. :thumbleft:

    Late fogs

Pretty sure the early fogs are a different size, but they're certainly a different shape and profile. I'd almost certainly say no tbh mate. It may take a couple of months, but they do pop up for reasonable prices every now and again. You just need to be patient, but swift when they do appear!
  6. Not keen on the repeaters, but otherwise looks like it's half decent and well priced.
  7. Exactly that. It's very common as screen fitters often scratch the paint around the lip. As soon as water is introduced it obviously corrodes, but is missed until it's too late as it's hidden. If it was likely replaced a few year ago, the metal will need cutting out and the whole process could prove costly.
  8. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=58587 Check out the last couple of pages, someone is just sorting a new batch out now.
  9. There does come a point when people want to move on. Some do permanently, many don't. It's an awful lot of hassle, not to mention it takes a lot of time and space to break a car. Many parts won't go or will take a long time advertising (which costs also) so it's usually best to just sell as is unless it's already on the cusp of becoming a scrapper. All the best with what you decide, but not sure I'd pick a clio as a successor. Sure they're pretty good fun to drive, but you'll always have the feeling you could have got so much more for your money if you buy one............
  10. I got a good quality replacement with fixing tabs intact, and I've put it on for the time being using number plate strip tape, but the top still isn't fixed properly. It fixes for a few minutes if you push it at the top, but comes unstuck pretty quickly. My previous one had been bonded on with tigerseal which made it impossible to remove without breaking.
  11. Why is it going up again now though. DVLA have just reportedly saved themselves £40m a year by doing it all online, why are we being charged more year upon year! And regardless, 2.5% is still far more than inflation!
  12. I have VT mounts all round and have noticed no additional vibration in the cabin. I did however just get the competition front. The rear and GB mounts were fast road so a little more forgiving. As far as costing, every one of mine were almost completely shot so needed doing, and replacing with genuine would not have saved a great deal over VT. If you use aftermarket it a slightly different story, but there are huge variations in quality, especially with rubber components if using aftermarket products.
  13. Wow, second one on a P in 2 days!
  14. OK I'll take it if Stuart doesn't. Thanks.
  15. Hi mate, interested in heater box with controls. Would you be able to post, and if so how much? Thanks, Sean.
  16. Posted today mate, emailed you the tracking number. Cheers bud!:thumbleft:
  17. Bloody hell that was quick! I'll get them packaged up and in the post by Tuesday mate. Cheers!
  18. 288mm front brake calipers and carriers Taken from a mk3 Golf and have been wire wheeled, and painted VHT Silver by me, with the carriers painted with hammerite solid black by previous owner. I secured another set that were less than a year old before fitting, so these are for sale. There is some corrosion that had eaten away at some of the lettering so came off with the wire wheel, but still quite presentable. Pistons move freely and seals are intact. Anti vibration springs included. Will fit VR6 on standard wheels no problem, also mk3 Golf obviously, and Skoda Fabia. Collection welcome, any q's fire away. All correspondence to be kept to this thread unless confirming payment details, to keep within forum rules. Cheers, Sean. 19. OK I'll pass on this. Thanks Chris.
  20. I'll have this please Van you pm me your details for PayPal. Thanks!
  21. Charlie, I'm still interested in all carpet fixings, boot spoiler motor cover, and B pillars if you have them as Tomi has not replied. I'd also have both footwell trims (one by bonnet release, and the same one on N/S), and also sunroof motor cover, sunvisors, sunroof switch, and lower handbrake cover if the clips are intact. All posted if possible please mate. Cheers.
  22. Good to hear it's finally sorted Dave, well done for persevering. There is a plastic bar type thing that slots in along the middle at the back of the fusebox, which looks the plugs in place if you haven't noticed it mate.
  23. Here you go mate. They're available from VW for about £25. http://wiki.the-corrado.net/ignition_switch_replacement.html
