  1. Latest series is on Nat Geo on Thursdays Rob. Karmann Ghia on the last one. :thumbleft:
  2. Good on you Cressa. I'm in the Forces and did Op Fresco back in 2001 (BA Rescue Team). Was one of the best times of my career, and have massive respect for what you do on a daily basis. :thumbleft:
  3. SeanJaymo (no longer a Corrado owner) was an RAF Technician. Occasionally still pops on here but not heard from him in a while.
  4. Thats quite a loss and certainly requires some work whether internally, fuel, spark, or all of the above.
  5. Ok thanks all. I'll give that one a go. :thumbleft:
  6. Trouble is Duncan, yours has one of the highest mileages we've seen. Without any engine work documented that's what will put almost all buyers off. Whilst I wish you the best of luck, I don't think you'll achieve anywhere near your asking price. Near mint lowish mileage cars are going for what you've advertised as on the private market, it's the dealers that are asking the silly money
  7. Does that connect to the reservoir then and push fluid through like the eazybleed? My reluctance to use pressure bleeders is just that I've ended up with a reservoir with fluid full of air bubbles quite a few times now so end up spending ages draining it all and starting again
  8. As in title Gents. I only have an eazybleed at the moment and it's pants. Can anyone recommend a decent hand vacuum tool for a reasonable price? Seen the mityvac but has mixed reviews and worried it won't provide enough vacuum pressure, so any other suggestions welcome. It's not just for the Corrado so will have occasional use on others. Thanks all. :thumbleft:
  9. Have a shed load of patience! I used petrol for the glue removal, but there are lots of recommendations for other stuff. Tar remover is one, but worth doing a search (use Google as the forum search is pants) to see what others have used mate. Either way, prepare to spend a good few hours getting it off. Top tip, put and old sheet over the engine bay to keep the bits from falling in. :thumbleft:
  10. 45 profile for 16" wheels will keep the rolling radius as close to standard, and keep your speedo correct. What are the offset of the wheels? That'll have an impact on the width if you need spacers
  11. Go for it, always good to share knowledge. I'm sure it doesn't differ much between them all
  12. Thats some cracking Mileage achieved! No mention of engine work done though which could be a little worrying.........
  13. Congrats on your purchase. I do like an early Valver, nice and revvy, and good fun cars to throw around the twisty roads. Keep us updated on your plans and what you are doing. If you start a thread in the Members gallery, its a good narrative for the history of your ownership. Best of luck! :thumbleft:
  14. House will be taking priority for a while mate. I will get back to it, but in all likelihood it won't see the road again for another year. I could probably put the brake lines on and get it legal, but I'd only have to go back over some things that aren't quite finished after anyway.
  15. Nice one Rob! Good you're taking this lot before it's too late. Wish I had the time and inclination to start on my car again!
  16. Ah, I thought you meant these ones https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rear-exhaust-silencer-bracket-VW-Corrado-535253674-New-genuine-VW-part/173157422147?epid=650244382&hash=item2850fc9443:g:I7wAAOSwt4xagt5t
  17. I bought a pair from eBay. I've had them zinc coated though so they last a bit longer as I wasn't convinced on the quality. Alternatively you can paint or acid and zinc coated your existing ones after cutting out the tube that the rubber mount attaches to, get a new rubber mount for about a quid and use a stainless bolt with a nyloc
  18. The company is BBA Reman. They refirb your own if possible, or send you a replacement refurbished one if they can't. Worth a call to see how much and how long the turnaround is. Worth trying to free the valve up though. Find a clear stretch of road and speed up past 35 mph, then stomp hard one the brake pedal to operate the abs system. Do it a few times as the valves do become a little sticky if brake fluid gummed up when not regularly serviced in the past. I know a few that have reported it doing the trick on here.
  19. Probably better off asking on clubGTI or one of the mk2 forums Andy. A lot of very knowledgeable folk on there, though the experience is thinning out a little as time passes but you may find an old post on it possibly......
  20. If you read further it just says parts over weight and size limits, and vehicle parts that contain liquids. Yes you can argue that suspension contains liquids, but I think it's more to do with it leaving out of the packaging and damaging other items when in transit. I think oil filled suspension should be ok.........
  21. I've used myhermes countless times to post items, including a set of coilovers. They go by a maximum package size and price is based on weight. I had to send the coilovers in 2 boxes due to this but still only worked out around £15 iirc
  22. Glad those inpro headlights and colour coded surrounds have gone! :gag:
  23. It's nice and warm in my heated garage. Just saying..............
  24. As all have said, its just an additional wire...............
