  1. Think you just need a Throttle body adapter plate for it to fit? Pretty sure it'll work perfectly fine other than that. I'm sure someone will have fitted one in the past......
  2. Find that hard to believe! Lol
  3. 35, had the current one for 4 years
  4. Welcome to the forum. It's a bit high in my opinion, but without knowing exactly what previous work has been done it's hard to say. Dealer prices are obviously going to be high, but it's maybe a 5-6k car privately. Have a look in the wiki section at the buyers guide. Print it out and if the car is relatively local, take it with you and have a good look over the car and paperwork. Best of luck with your search.
  5. Combat Systems Engineer. It gives me the advantage of being handy with electronics/electrics, but as mentioned its just nuts and bolts. I started out tinkering with cars on a Mk3 Golf I bought really cheap. Its grown from there really and I'd recommend to anyone interested in getting hands on to buy something for a couple of hundred quid, get a Haynes manual and get busy. If you cock it up you won't have broken the bank trying! You'll accumulate tools over time and you'll become more confident in tackling the more technical jobs too. :thumbleft:
  6. Excellent, just in time for pay day! Thanks Anna!
  7. Not after changing all those, I wouldn't recommend running with temps that high. I think 146 is the upper limit it'll show too so could be even higher!
  8. I have heard about the battery being shorted killing the ECU. Fingers crossed for you it hasn't done that, but I'd certainly check fuses too mate
  9. Had a feeling this was happening when the RS's went up for sale. :(
  10. In no particular order; Diablo SE, Esprit S4, McClaren F1, Ferrari F40, Dodge Viper. All adorned my bedroom wall!
  11. Trim deluxe have a very good reputation. Do lots of custom show car interiors too.
  12. The clutch kit is just pressure pad and plate. Depending on where they go it, the release bearing will be in other too (might be worth asking as they're only £15 anyway). The forks are quite common defects due to fatigue so be or Crack. Should have you up and running again though!
  13. Welcome! If you have a look in the wiki section there's a good buyers guide too. Good luck with your search!
  14. The bearings are cheap, however the labour is the killer here!
  15. Try to remove the motor first, it may be that it's seized. You should be able to pull it up by hand then. If it's stuck in the guides, you my need to get a dremel or something to cut away the lip of the guides where the captive nuts are. Remove the mechanism, the pull the spoiler out. You'll need new guides then though which hopefully came with your new mechanism.
  16. I've got these with 288mm calipers and there is tons of clearance! though I cant be 100% sure, I'd be confident in saying they'd easily clear 312mm brakes.
  17. Have you pulled the manual lever out before trying to turn it? Sorry if its a simple one, but worth a try!
  18. Glad its all sorted for you Rob!
  19. I have one. I'll try to dig it out tomorrow, but the horizontal textured part is a little warped (bows in). It'll probably be salvageable with a little heat, but its yours for £5 incl postage if no one else offers one up and you want it mate.
  20. It may be the drivers side one Rob. Close the bonnet gently and push down at the pin area to see how well and when they locate. Its a bit of trial and error when re-fitting them tbh mate. Ians pins and catch do look great when fitted too!
  21. Its probably that the locking mechanism is a little tighter so the spring is slightly engaged Rob. If you loosen the cable off a touch it should be ok. Alternatively, wind out the pins half a turn and try again mate.
  22. I don't think it's owners, in fact it has probably been the other way around from experience. There have been some very good reviews in press over the last 2 years or so as they start coming into the classic bracket. Traders have obviously seen this and have adjusted asking prices accordingly. Private owners have then (rightly so) adjusted their expectations of what they're worth so prices have definitely increased in this time. The vast majority of old dogs have been broken for parts, so the volume for sale has gone down whilst the standard has gone up.
  23. I imagine it would be mate! Look forward to hearing about the progress. The fact you had such a newly refubished engine so recently means that fingers crossed, there aren't too many additional expenses that are usually found when doing this kind of work.
  24. Not at all. A couple of years ago you could have got a good condition set of leather seats and door cards for £4-5 hundred. You may still get lucky, but judging on the most recent prices, it seems you could be almost doubling that.
