...and a beard. -
Selecting Volkswagen and then Corrado works for me. I think it might just remove the options if there aren't any of that car for sale in your area...

:( Another one goes to VR6 heaven :( - Or does it?

Oh man that's awful, but glad everyone's ok. Here's hoping the aforementioned pisshead gets a serious seeing-to :( -

Looks and sounds rather tidy Yan! Digging the front bumper mod too - pimpin' 8) -
Ahh you gotta love the complete anti-climax it was with Kimi winning  Nobody was quite sure what to make of it and the world's most boring man didn't even look all that excited. Bet Bernie's happy tho - he can drag out the whole "Hamilton got so close last year, you've got to watch this year!!" thing...

You might be waiting a while cos my 'work' is scheduled for Jan...

Yeah, but that's only for 91 RON. Think of how sluggish your VR would feel! Plus the government picks up the rest of the tab, and how do governments make their money? Taxes. The US use an RdON rating that is calculated differently to our RON values, so their 91 is the same as our 95. http://www.torquecars.com/articles/fuel ... atings.php But yeah, it is depressing how much of it actually gets swallowed by the government - the actual price of the fuel is only about 30p/litre.

I'm guessing it's the same 70 litre tank that we've got here. The dollar's about half a pound at the moment, so call it £30 for a fill up. Or in other words 43p/litre :(

I've noticed that mine knocks and pinks a scary amount on 95, but runs fine on 97/99. My car did put down very good numbers compared with all the standard VRs on the last RR I had it on tho, so I have a suspision that mine's been chipped for 97 at some point in it's sordid past.

Me, a sunny day and a bumpy road video - part 2!!!

Heh heh cool - quite interesting to see just how far the suspension travels! -
Yeah, this I've heard... Oh and you have a reply to your questions about throttles on vortex ;)

The only way to tell really is to get it hooked up to VAG-COM and see what it tells you...

If you got rid of your C what modern car would you have?

Just seen a bloke from work driving out of the car park in his brand new one of these  -

Ah cool, chars for that. I've got some neoprene that will hopefully do the job, but some uber-thick Skinz on standby if it doesn't.

So then chaps - what have you all done about the gearbox and driveshaft situation? How many of you are running the 02M box and what have you done with getting the driveshafts to fit? Have you done a cut 'n' shut with R32 inner CV and Corrado outer CV? Or did you go for custom-made driveshafts? If so how much were they and who did you get to make them? (Carl - I seem to remember you saying you got some custom ones made up for £500?) Are any of you aware of any standard driveshafts that'll do the job?
-
If you want to bolt one up to a normal Corrado VR engine then you're going to have a few issues. Firstly, the 02M box uses 113mm diameter flange shafts (snigger) whereas the Corrado uses 100mm ones. So your inner CV joints won't bolt up. Secondly, the 6-speed 02M is slightly wider than your average bear, thus the output flanges are further apart, thus you need to shorten the driveshafts. You may be able to use the 100mm flange shafts from the 02J 5-speed box used on the Beetle amongst others, but I'm not sure if the shaft and splines match up inside the box, so it might not work. Interesting what you say about the bellhousings tho Crasher I was under the impression it would bolt up, but you'd have a few gaps between engine and bellhousing that would need plugging. When you say the clutch needs shimming, presumably this is to make sure the clutch doesn't interfere with the 12v VR engine? My plan was to take the engine and gearbox as one into the C tho, so hopefully not a problem for me ;)

It is indeed! :)

Heh heh. Actually, clarification - you need to take the plastic corner covers off the plastic surround and remove those 4 screws. That comes out easy enough, but don't lose the cover bits cos you can't get them any more and they're small enough to drop and never see again  So, then the gauge pod itself is held in with 2 screws - one on each side. They're easy enough to get to, but don't drop the screws cos they could well disappear into the dash. Then you've got to manhandle the gauge pod around to unplug the connector on the bag and get it out of the dash without removing too much skin from your knuckles or scratching the front of the gauge pod. It's not actually that hard, just a bit fiddly. My weekend task is to finally fit my DDI gauges

IIRC four screws and a big multiplug at the back on the left. It's a bit of a pig to get out tho...

I'm fairly sure DEL VR6 has 312s and Borbet C's... can't remember if they're 17 or 16 tho, but I'm fairly sure it's 16. Could well be wrong tho, so don't take my word for it

It is freakin' funny tho

I was having a peruse through ETKA the other day trying to work out how on earth you convert a 4WD 02M gearbox to 2WD and I think I've found it! The 2WD and 4WD versions of the gearbox appear to be identical (there are a few ever so slightly different final drive ratios for the 02M but neither seem to be specific to either the 2WD or 4WD version)...apart from one part as per below... 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf02M 4WD Diff.gif[/attachment:d7fc3] 02M 2WD Diff.gif[/attachment:d7fc3] The parts are all listed on the diagram and it looks like the total list price for them all is around £60. I've not actually tried this yet, but it is the only difference I can see between the two 'boxes and it makes sense that the only difference is the output flange. Please note that you won't be able to bolt the standard Corrado driveshafts up to these, but I'm looking into the parts you need to do so. I've heard that it's just a case of buying different flange shafts, but I need to check on that. Just thought I'd share :)

Show's what I know then  VRs are deffo 4 bar tho.
