  1. Maybe the motor should be removed and lubed?
  2. Same here - my wipers are probably the slowest I've seen on ANY car. Is this normal or should they be that slow and what can you doo to speed them up a tad? I thought it may be a case of oiling the mechanism? If so, is it a motor and mech out job, or can you attack with a can of 3-in-1 from the engine bay?
  3. I used to work with Pirelli up until recently. Did you get his name, I might know him?

    Leather repair/restorer

kevhaywire, i believe there is a method whereby you heat the damaged area with a hairdryer and then rapidly cool it with say a piece of metal sitting in a glass of ice. Good for closing worn areas so i guess you could also use it for that dent of yours.
  5. Ranj, know the car well from my uni days. Typical student, dare i say it poser, car at the time for us lot who thought we were a bit bad...
  6. Whatever you used mate it looks damn good!
  7. Phil K, how did you do your calipers - with a wire brush in situ? Are you going to paint them or polish them? Look cool btw
  8. IIRC if you rub down and fill carefully with primer and then touch up, buff down and touch up again you can get a good finish. Henny is really your man here. It may take a weeknd but at least your loss will only be your time and some paint. Otherwise if its not too deep you could also try some coloured polish, although I cant vouch for how good they are.
  9. Finally refitted teh carpet after washing it thoroughly and got two nice new grease marks on the back refitting the front seats. Oh the joys of a bige interior. At least the carpet now looks beige and not grey! Changed the side markers to clear (tt ones) and put clear mastic around the edges. Rubbed down and polished the speedies. Redid the dash lights to blue (new setup) just need to reinstall.
  10. Fab - that top one looks like A20Lee, but in brown. All that chrome and it certainly looks the part. Cant wait to see some more pics. Any cabin shots?

    Brakes - VR6

Hi Moonie, and welcome. You'll certainly find this a very useful forum for looking after you motor - far better than others I could mention. Take the wheels off and check the sensor for grit or muck in front. Also check the ABS cage as this can sometimes give a false reading. Brake cleaner, or even carb cleaner can be used the clean up the sensor. HTH
  12. Dub Style, cool. Any how-to on this? whose car is it from, anyone on the forum?
  13. So no ideas then? I cant imagine it being too complicated, just that i hope its not a question of taking out 200 screws and all of the dash. Having said that, I dont know where/how to start.
  14. I've only seen the pics and it reaaly is one that can be used for aspirational purposes. I've only driven mine about 700 miles in the past 9 months (mainly due to the electrical gremlins which i havent had time to sort but will be done soon) but my son (who's 4 years old) loves going in it. Absolutely loves it. So Asim mate if the reasons are family related then I'd hang on to it. Plus you also have the security of knowing the kids cant open the back doors or windows inadvertently and will be as safe as houses in those comfy bucket seats. Do your best to keep it bud.
  15. Just a general comment, when you spin the back wheels (off the ground of course) should the pads rub the disk slightly and hinder rotation or should they be totally free? And fronts, because of the diff, these will be hard to move even when in neutral?
  16. Looks the business. very smart and well done for your efforts.
  17. Just to pull this old thread back, it seems it is the air diverter flap. I think that on normal aircon operation it is half shut and on full it is fully closed so there is no outside air coming into the cabin. How do i locate the flap and the actuation equipment (hope its not a whole-dash-out job)?

    resistors for clock leds

stanbates, those are the ones I already have, but cheers anywy. he's a helpful chap (Rob IIRC). Anyway coming back to the issue, would I need resistors per led or just one one the main feed?
  19. I'm just redoing the clock on my 94 VR replacing the single blue leds with a strip with 3 leds per clock. They're all 5v leds which require a current limiting resistor to bring the current down to about 20mA. Normally you would need one resistor per diode but is it feasible to just put one on the feed to the circuit board strip and then solder the leds in normally? My assumption is that they would still all be drawing 20mA and would operate okay. The other option is of course to put resisitrs in front of each, which i dont really want to do as its a lot more fiddly. Thanks guys. BTW, hope everyone is having a good Bank Holiday weekend.
  20. yeah but can you do this at home?
  21. A20 LEE, any more shots of the interior, dash, carpets etc? Something a la PVW shoot?
  22. potatonet, i take it you mean removal only to install the cooler? I've just bought one (without any spigots etc) and have aircon in my car. Just thinking of how and where to install.
