  1. I assume that if I have a VDO pump already, then I don't need a new VDO sender and wires, like ETKA tells me?
  2. There's a seperate gasket for the spark plug holes. Comes with a rocker gasket set, probably worth changing.
  3. [youtube:3ce01mcq]5GcvyMF9XVg[/youtube:3ce01mcq] Well worth refocusing the cameras...
  4. You can refit them. I might have some spare. I'll snuffle through my mound of stuff :)
  5. They are kinda plastic welded to the grill on some cars.
  6. Pretty sure it's the random connector for an oil temp sensor not fitted in this country.
  7. You can just use insulation tape on the correct part of the glass, check your instruction manual.
  8. On a KR? Sounds right on certain parts of the system. Where did he measure it?
  9. Get the stick on adapters.
  10. You know how you're good with electronics.... :luvlove:
  11. I might have one somewhere. I'll try to dig it out. I'm going down the simpler route. I'm going to find someone to create a circuit that illuminates a bulb for 3 seconds when it recieves a 12v signal....
  12. Blue temp sensor is in the thermostat housing on the front right hand side of the engine, idle valve is the round thing plumbed in near the throttle body.
  13. No, they are w@nk, or certainly were in the old days.
  14. Share my car if you want? Although if you crash it, I'll defile mincy, possibly by knocking one out in the glovebox.
  15. I'm up for some track action at some point in the summer. Speak about it Sunday?
  16. That's a bit of a turd Jim, but to be fair, it's far from standard, and gets driven like it's meant to, so you will see issues sooner or later. Sadly it's a bit sooner for you. Tandino speaks a lot of sense, a good solid 2.8 would last you a long time, and there would be no second guessing the engine, you'd know exactly where you are. Or go the whole hog, get building up a turbot lump. Spend the next few months wandering aimlessly, saving cash and building an appreciation for motorised transport, and you'll be happier than me, at a scat party. If it makes you feel any better, looks like my VR will be stripped completely down again this summer, possibly having engine work, definitely getting a rebuilt gearbox after my £35 special turned out to be a bit crap.
  17. I've got an early Non ABS rear spare if anyone wants it. Last one in the country and everything. SuperEBAYRARE. Etc.
  18. Late Mk3 VR6 ones fit as well and are a little larger I think.
  19. I've emailed some of mine over, see what you think.
  20. Connector on the back of the guages has come loose?
  21. I've had that issue too. Took a little bit of fiddling and lubrication to get it to work nice and easily.
  22. not to be rude, but in your pic on the side you appear to have some blue neons on your car?
  23. As much as I like people trying something new, and doing something themselves.... I love you. :luvlove:
  24. Well it sounds like it could be fuel starvation, which could be a blocked filter, or a knackered fuel pump. There is a guide on here for changing the fuel filter on the 16v, would be worth checking the pipes and connections at the filter before starting the job incase they need replacing. The filter is in front of the rear drivers side wheel bolted to the underside of the car.
  25. Tried changing the fuel filter?
