ah, nuts, could be... my memory is a little fried today... been wiring and can only see little blue and red wires at the moment...
-
yeah, exactly what I thought on first glance... it's only 'cos I've been brushing up on my french recently that I realised it was a set of instructions for modding 'em before I scrolled down and saw the pic with the mounts cut off... 8)

Google is your friend... ;) Click here for translated version... ;) They're modded BMW lights Dazzy, it's just a page telling you how to mod either the Hella or In-pro BMW lights to fit a corrado... 8)

Hasn't Cheesy done this already? :? Interesting find though... 8) *edit 'cos I can't spel rite.... *

IIRC there IS a C in Oz... and I think the owner is on this very forum too... 8)

have you had a clutch done in the recent past? Reason I ask is that if they've tried to start it without connecting the engine's earth strap properly, the next easiest path for the engine to earth through is the ECU! :| Open up the ECU and see if there's a burnt track, that'll be the earth one, simply solder a thick wire in it's place if it's burnt and give it another go... I've done this to several different VWs in my time (fixed 'em not burnt the ECUs! ;) )

I turn to HERE when I manage to screw things up (which I have done on several occasions! ) but then, you look at the amount I've managed to succesfully do to my car and work out how much I've managed to save doing it (and how good it feels knowing that I built it myself) and it makes it all worth it..... 8)

It's in the post now... look for the dodgy looking matt black gaffa tape'd box! ;)

That's definately too thirsty... :| I've just put 53 litres of optimax in my car and had done 324 miles... Google and a calculator tells me that: 1UK gallon = 4.54609 litres so: 53litres = 11.66 Gallons (tells me my fuel gauge is crap 'cos it was reading almost empty! ) 324/11.66=27.79 MPG! 8) And that's me blatting upto York and back (averaged 73mph! ) and going to work and back for 2 days sat in traffic... I'm well happy with that! 8)

get the green power steering fluid (original name huh? ;) ) from VW, it's not expensive and it's the only power steering fluid they do... you'll need about a litre if you've got red stuff in there to swap it over... 8)

VW charges about £20 for the switch and it takes less than 30 mins to fit it... They are taking the utter p!$$ with that quote... Also, IMHO, if you have spark and the engine is cranking over, it's VERY unlikely to be the ignition switch...

with ya there kvwloon 8)

you're hitting the air resistance barrier there Kongo... 8) That's the flat out speed of your car, the point where the engine's power is equalled by the resistance caused by the air in front of the car which stops you accelerating any more.... 145 is about right for a G60.... 8)

Fully synthetic oil is too thin for a 1.8 16V... stick with some good quality semi synthetic like VW's Quanta Silver oil... it's good stuff and not very expensive either... 8)
-
Welcome to the forum... 8) There's a breather pipe on a 1.8 16V which comes from the front of the block and feeds into the airbox above the air filter... you will get small deposits of oil dropped onto your air filter over time... If it's a light amount of oil, don't worry about it... if it's REALLY heavy deposits of oil, check that this breather pipe isn't blocked... Which indicator light stays on? Sounds like it may be a fault. When the indicators are left on with the ignition off, the sidelights on the side of the car you're indicating towards should be on as this is how you turn on the parking lights... 8)

DIN = the standard size for a car stereo *edit* I'm pretty certain that: DIN = Deutsche Industrie-Norm(enaussxhuss) (German Industrial Standards Authority, equivalent of EIA, BSA etc) 8)

Check HERE for instructions on how to replace the switch... 30 mins and £20 if you do it yourself... 8) Read the whole thread from that link onwards as there's some nice touches to add onto the method I wrote up including not having to take the seats out etc etc etc... 8)

yeah, John does a cracking job too... (Guess who did all the gas-flowing on mine! ;) )

the motors ARE mechanically interchangeable.... 8)

Second gear selection problems are often caused by the circlip on the end of the gear lever pivot coming off... pull up the plastic cover inside the car, and move your gear lever side to side, if you can see the lever moving side to side on the bar which allows the lever to pivot forwards and backwards, there's your problem... the circlip costs about 12p and will sort your problem for you... (Guess who's got this at the moment too! ;) ) I'll take some pics tonight so you can tell WTF I'm on about! ;) The other part to check if you've developed 2nd and 4th gear selection problems is the bracket on the gearbox where the cables attach to... if this comes loose, you'll loose both of these gears, but R, 1, 3 and 5 will still be pretty much OK... (don't ask, I've just had a few gear selection problems recently!  )

I'll see what I can do in the morning... 8) Pretty sure I can go upto 10mm... :D

Ah, that makes sense then... 8) The bits that have broken on the roofs I've had have been the "spring-loaded lugs that pull the lining up when the roof tilts" which have either snapped off and jammed up the mechanisms on them or fallen off and hit me on the head as I've been driving... :| Guess I've just been lucky with my unlucky-ness with sunroofs then!  8) Cheers Mike... 8)

 ah! man! That was a beer spraying moment when I read that!
