Well the mk2/jetta lightswitch arrived today, and as stated above its a straight swap(except the L shaped locating lug, which was promptly removed)......works perfectly and does seem sturdier than the original (which'll be getting repaired thanks to daves16v).......so its a thumbs up from me :D

lol, i'm sorry mate... there were loads of good contenders...! I'm going to try an do a mash up of all the runners up pics and have it in there as a back cover maybe... I'm only kidding on mate :D .......i know mine was one of the weaker ones :lol: .........made me realise that i have very little good pics of my car :roll:

The ABS ECU isn't in the engine bay......its behind the left hand panel , passenger footwell......

Ok had a wee rummage......and i have 2 , one might be off a VR6, but one off a 2.016v.......pretty sure both kinds are interchangeable :D PM coming your way

When i cleaned mine out i covered one end with clingfilm and then filled it up with brake cleaner, left it overnight and flushed it in the morning, then got a thin screwdriver in there to make sure the springy thing moved then put a little 3in1 oil in to help the lubrication..........seemed to work :D And your welcome to come over and see if my spare helps(just give me notice so i can find it) :lol:

I too have a leak from there........replaced the gasket with the VW rubber/metal one, used blue instant gasket(not sure of the type) and all seemed well for a couple of days but the leak has reappeared.......i also have the thinner gasket so that might be next,but £45 for the bolts :censored: .......oh and i'm pretty sure i started in the offending corner too :bad-words: :lol:

Its joined onto the spoiler mechanism, which is in the tailgate beside the rear window wiper motor :D

No idea mate, sorry........i just know some people have had gear issues before and this has been the culprit on more than one occasion......i am however not one of them so i'm not speaking from personal experience. What i do know is that 99% of questions asked have been answered before in some form or another.........BUT your issue might not have been seen before and if not then i hope someone with the knowledge to help you comes along with the answers :D
