Here you go, if anyone is interested. I was mistaken with my previous post, you'd need a rev limit of 7000rpm to achieve 170mph on a standard VR gearbox. Using the undeniable truth of maths, and the gear ratios from the wiki, a rev limit of 6500rpm is a max of 40mph in 1st, 68mph in 2nd, 101mph in third, 127mph in 4th and 157mph in 5th. http://www.gearboxman.co.uk/inforatios.html - Feel free to try it out for yourselves.

I'm sure I've got a gearspeed calculation spreadsheet somewhere that says a VR on standard gearing and a 6500rpm limit could theoretically reach 170mph. If I can find it I'll post it up here.

Have to say I've been waiting with baited breath for the iPhone 6 but I'm completely underwhelmed and Apple's pricing is bordering on madness. The 16gb one is useless and there's no way I'm paying the same price as an iMac air for a bloody phone! My iPhone 5 will be up for sale soon and I'll be looking at going back to android or trying a windows phone, either way I'll be buying sim-free and going with giff-gaff again.

Didn't someone on here try to do this already? And although he got it working it was a complete PITA! I could be completely wrong (it was a few years and many drinks ago) but he had big problems with injector firing and control. Although essentially the same block all the sensors/inputs/fuelling ratios/lambda parameters etc etc are different. Not even thinking about the VVT or variable inlet side of things I don't think this is a good idea. If you want my 10p worth I'd get as much as possible from the donor vehicle and just transfer over everything you need. Far far simpler.
