Just to update this ad. The car is still available and the phone number in the ad. has been corrected. Apologies to any-one who has not been able to get a reply as I've been away on holiday.

The original VW clip was part of the cable when it was new and originally was available on its own so that you could repair a broken one although it meant taking the cable out completely to fit it as mentioned. That particular clip is no longer available, nor has it been for a number of years, so it's now a case of coming up with some way of securing the outer cable in place. There are some solutions available from the States as you have discovered. If you do a search on Google Images for 'Corrado bonnet cable repair' you will find numerous solutions that others have come up with which might give you some ideas.

Just to clarify matters in relation to buying this car and registering it on the mainland. As N. Ireland is part of the UK the process would be exactly the same as buying a car from your mate in the next street. All N. Ireland cars are registered and taxed at Swansea just like all other UK cars. On completion of the sale we would complete the relevant sections of the current V5, you would take section 10 of the V5 as a receipt and the remainder of the V5 would be sent to the DVLA at Swansea. Within a couple of weeks you would receive a new V5 in your name. Job done. There is no import duty or any other forms to fill in, no matter what anyone tells you. The car is currently MOT'd to June 2016 and this is valid on the mainland. The car is currently taxed but, as per the new regulations, this is not transferrable. The car would retain the N. Ireland plate until such time as you applied to the DVLA at Swansea for a relacement.

Common to all 2.8 and 2.9 V6 engines no matter what they are in. This is the manifold to head gasket. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLKSWAGEN-VW-SHARAN-Manifold-Gasket-JA5068-Payen-1005062-021133227H-New-/331697882308

The servo is bolted onto the bulkhead and also clipped onto the brake pedal. You will get access to the four bolts from up behind the dash and while you are up there you will see where it is clipped onto the brake pedal. Remove the bolts and clip if you have not already done so and the it's just a case of wiggling it about to get it out ........ form memeory it is a bit of a faff.

Lots of photos of them on Google Images on Golfs etc but not on a Corrado ............. nice wheel in any case.

I've just registered ............ I've been to this show before and it's a cracker. -
If you can source a set of DDI mirror glass, I have a set of genuine Corrado plastic backing plates here which I salvaged ages ago when I replaced the mirrors on my car. It would only be a matter of sticking the glass to the backing plates and popping them in again.

It's worth checking that the drain holes at either end of the scuttle are not blocked as you will get a build up of water in the scuttle if they are. It's also worth relacing the seal under the foliage filter or even just running a bead of silicone around the base of the filter to keep the water out

Genesis Audiophile 5.25 inch mid bass speakers. Here we have an immaculate set of Genesis Audiophile, A13.02, 5.25 mid bass drivers. These are the same depth as the standard door speakers and with very little work would be a direct fit. As can be seen in the photos there are four lugs on each speaker with holes for the mounting screws. The standard speakers have four lugs with an open slot in each for the mounting screws so it would be necessary to slightly open out the mounting holes and open them to form four slots as per the OEM speaker. These speakers are rated at 130 watt max, 80 watt RMS input and being Genesis, whose whole ethos was 'sound quality', they are an extremely able and composed speaker which will handle any genre of music at any level with ease. You would hear a marked improvement even if you only mounted them in the standard door pods, used the standard dash mounted tweeters and ran them off the head unit. Check out the photos below. If the door handle is loose in the door, tighten the black cross head screw which is just above and to the right of the door latch. If you need to remove the door handle, completely remove the screw, pull the back end of the handle away from the door and slide it back and out. The white clip slides onto the lever on the back of the door latch (the one nearest the camera in the photo). You will need to remove the latch from the door to refit it. Disconnect the long bar that runs forward to the inner door opening handle at the handle end, remove the two countersunk screw that go through the latch and lift it out. The little short bar that runs up to the door lock button clips into the other end of the white clip. It's odds on that the clip will be damaged where the bar clips in but they are available from Greece of all places at great expense for what they are. Just do an e-bay search for Corrado door lock levers, right or left as they are sided. You could try VW Heritage if you need one, you might be lucky.

Door diagrams from VagCat at the links below. Part 7 in the second diagram is a white plastic clip which is part of the door lock mechanism. The metal rod onto which the lock button is screwed clips into it and it operates the lock when you press the button down. I don't remember any white plastic clips joined onto the actual glass. If the handle is loose in the door then simply tighten up the screw on the back edge of the door. You will find it just above the door lock mechanism. The one on the drivers door has a left hand thread (anti clockwise to tighten). The passenger side one is normal thread. Shown as part 16 in the second diagram. http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/COR/1992/76/56/848543/ http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/COR/1992/76/56/848348/

Pretty sure you need a replacement window regulator ....... no mention of a replacement cable in the parts list. The regulator seems to be common across the complete range and the same for all years. See the link below....... http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/COR/1989/76/56/848543/

PM me your name and delivery address and I'll get them in the post to you.

I've used standard heavy duty pop rivets in the past with no problems ....... they are not really under any undue stress as they are only holding the regulator onto the door. Part number is N 90478601 if you want the genuine thing. They appear to be used in a number of other cars so they might well still be available. I can sent you a few standard rivets if you want.
