Sterling/Toad immobiliser failed - need Auto-electrician
Dox replied to dalhalvaig's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Have you tried the spare transponder if you have one? -
I did wonder if yours was heading north again while you took care of a green VRT for a while?
-
Well he's said he doesn't like green, so I'll say Rams old charged VR
-
It is, but that ones not a happy buying experience for him so I can't see him buying it back at £10K? Lots of nice cars for sale at the moment, turbo / supercharged VRs etc
-
Wheels for sale at a guess? Or as its his build thread he's buying another?
-
In the past I've just used the closest possible from used barrels and ground off the excess with the key in the lock.

I may have a sender for the above link if you need one. I'll offer to buy your used pumps too should they be made by pierberg -
CTS are just temperature variable resistors https://www.google.com/search?site=&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1366&bih=614&q=vr6+coolant+graph&oq=vr6+coolant+graph&gs_l=img.3...2593.8795.0.9251.17.10.0.7.3.0.225.954.7j2j1.10.0....0...1ac.1.64.img..5.12.948._jiJPoG4h4w#imgrc=-IVvxofDr_K-cM%3A There probably a graph in the Bentley manual for it. After being sorn over winter my car idles like a bitch and cuts out, after a few runs out up to temp it idles fine. It could be the lambda is contaminated from idling, if yours is a hotwire MAF I've read that after turning off the ignition there's a current passed through the hotwire for 15 mins to burn off contaminants. Is there any chance you can take the car out for a varied drive? Maybe disconnecting the battery prior to this so the ecu can relearn the sensors parameters?

Hi, you do realise average mileage for a 20 year old car would be 240K miles. There seems to be some decent cars coming for sale atm, it might be worth mentioning where in the country you are too? Good luck with your search :)

Or brake fluid? CV grease is usually deposited on the inside of the rim or wishbone / ARB in gooey black lumps
-
Mine does the same, I was hoping you swirl pot was intact but your pump faulty
-
Have you fitted the pump on the left? What's wrong with the Pierberg? pump on the right?

Isn't Tempests G60 US spec?

288s and 280s both have 54mm pistons, so if both are working as intended the pedal travel should be exactly the same. The 288s have a larger pad area and a wider swept area compared to 280s

VR6 ABV crank position sensor question - now fuel pressure issue
Dox replied to fendervg's topic in Engine Bay
The advantaged is that you can move the spanner down the hex giving an infinitely adjustable "extension". Once you've cracked them off half a turn or so they turn freely, my advice is to remove them with your fingers as the hex becomes wedged against the rad etc as the bolts turn out. -

Great news, do you have a link to the NRV please :) It could be there's not enough power going to the pump when cranking due to voltage drop in the wiring? You turn the ignition key, the pump primes and pressures up the fuel rail, you turn the key to crank and the pressure in the rail is enough to fire the engine over? I notice sometimes my car fires into life just as I give up cranking, did you notice similar? Great result anyway :)
