Sticking clutch

Probably the slave cylinder seals failing. I would try swapping it out for a known good one, not too difficult a job.
2. Have you tried adjusting the gear selection cables? The levers might not be travelling enough.
3. Will this lot retrofit fairly easily to my dealer-fitted aircon setup? If so I'll take it!
4. Mine certainly goes off and on with everything else still in place, even the valve cover. It should be tight though; there's an o-ring around the body that keeps it snug.
5. Good job, Lucas! Do you have a link to the mirrors you bought?
6. Yes, just the "lip" can be replaced. It's separate from the copper ring. You can probably do it with the controls in place if you remove the plastic surround and the fan speed dial, but if you need more access you'll find the controls are only held in with 4 screws. As far as I recall the copper contact isn't held it by much - it just slots into place.

Clutch stuck

Have you checked to see if the brakes are binding or that the handbrake isn't releasing?
8. Yep, you can remove it and swap it for a new one. Not a difficult job - just remember what goes where!
9. Is the coolant coming out of the expansion tank cap or the relief valve on the side of the tank? The relief valve on mine gave up recently when waiting in traffic on a hot day and the fan controller failed, spraying the engine bay with coolant. I've a new one on the way but currently it starts to weep from the valve when the coolant hits ~100 C. Not sure if they're single-use or whether it's just an old part.
10. Put me down for a set too, please.
11. That plug is on the stage 1 + 2 fan switch and is used when the ignition is on, via the fan controller/relay box. Do you mean the auxiliary water pump stops when the fans come on? That's not so much of an issue as you should still have the main water pump driven by the serpentine belt. Nothing electrical is going to stop that!
12. What rubbish parents they are :/ It's not legal to drive without a driver's side wing mirror - it's the only mirror that must be present. Whether or not you'd be noticed is another matter... I hit a bit of a milestone myself on the way back from Stealth the day after Stanford: 123456 miles :)
13. Is the expansion tank still available? Mine's gone and popped.
14. Hi Matt, I'll take the front disc shields and the fuse board cover please. I don't suppose you have any miscellaneous trim screws kicking around, do you?
15. The easiest way is to run the engine up to temperature and compare the gauge reading to the oil temp from the MFA; they should be about the same. You can also read the value from the blue sender with VAG-COM/VCDS.
16. Also worth having a look at the ISV.
17. I now have a pair of shiny new 6mm bleed screws. Opted for the shorter of the two lengths offered by Bigg Red (29mm vs 38mm). Hopefully they'll do the trick.
18. Distributors are a little bit fiddly to repair, but they're easy enough to swap out. Perhaps see if you can have someone lend you a known good one and see if the running issue is cured.
19. Use a cardboard kitchen roll tube as a stethoscope to help pinpoint the source of the sound. And if you do replace the pulley bearing remember it's a reverse threaded bolt :)
20. It sheared off long ago so I shall have to dig the thing out. Bigg Red sell 6mm ones; I'll call them and see what they reckon.
21. Any idea of the length? I want to have a replacement standing by before I get a screw digger on mine :)
22. Cost me £25 from Babington Car Spares in Leeds. Wasn't off the shelf so I turned up with a decent toolkit ;)
