Draining from the radiator's bottom hose won't completely empty all of the coolant so you might want to flush the system using a hose on fairly low pressure directed into the radiator's top hose first. The thermostat should be closed at this point so filling/flushing will be fairly slow going.

Any Raddo owners in the North East?

Leeds here - always up for a day out ;) -
Haha, these are all ace! I have just remembered I also found a very rusty molegrip wedged between the bumper and radiator - it was clamping the hose for the headlamp washers after someone apparently made a balls-up of repairing it!
-
If it doesn't use the rear bias valve does that mean new rear lines are needed or can the valve just be wedged open (or shut)?

Bigg Red sell repair kits for less than £30 which include new seals and they're not too difficult to fit.

So I was thinking I might do this to my Corrado...

That stretch needs a hot tub! -
When I got my van a few years ago we removed the old interior and found quite a bit of cash (including a flaking fiver) along with pens, old shopping receipts and such. Not long after getting my Corrado I found a few quid in loose change in it and just yesterday I found another pound coin hiding under the carpet. So what's the strangest thing you've found in a car you've bought? Any cash windfalls or bizarre items?

Thanks, chaps. I have a better idea of what to expect now :)

Autoglym Air-Con Sanitizer Worked a treat for me. Oh, and one of these: http://pingi.com/index.php/en/products/75-pingi-xl-450-grams

Yeah, I'm going to wait until I've got everything fitted, I think. One other question: would a mapper (let's say Stealth) remove the EEPROM from the ECU and solder in a socket for the remap, or just swap the ECU out for one that's already been modified?

Will these be an improvement over the standard speakers just wired to a head unit or will an amp or other gubbins be required too? Edit: ah, my question has been answered :) -
Does anyone have any of the following new sunroof parts kicking around? Water guide plate (offside) 1H0 898 020 Guide repair kit (nearside) 1H0 898 017A Guide repair kit (offside) 1H0 898 018A I have everything else needed to refurb my sunroof but I've been told these parts are all on backorder :/

For under £40 you could have a new set of leads from Dubpower and it's worth doing since the condition of the current leads seems to be suspect. Have a look at the plugs while you're at it. Looks like you have an early VR6 with a dizzy, so check the cap and rotor too.

Arrived safe and sound on Saturday (well, the "you were out" card did). Cheers for including a couple of editions of Derbyshire First in the box - I'm sure it will be a riveting read :) You should have my original shifter by the end of the week. Thanks again Dave.

I dunno, you'd probably get some takers for a cut and shut like that.

Do you have 3 senders in the thermostat housing at the front of the engine? I wonder if the connectors for the intake temp sender and stage 3 fan (rightmost sender in the housing) have been mixed up...
-
What stage is the fan running at when it comes on (how loud is it)? Does it run when the ignition is on but before the engine is started?
-
You could always try a liberal spray of WD40 on the switch. That sorted out my dash illumination not coming on.

I've been running with the Schrick for a while now on an unmodified ECU and I'm due to be fitting SP 263 cams shortly so it's about time I got a remap. I plan on making some other mods next year (final drive, 6 branch manifold, etc) and I don't want to have fork out for another remap after a few months to see the benefit. I presume if I go to Stealth they'll do a fully custom map and not a purely off-the-shelf job, so am I better off waiting until it's all done or will further mods not really need further mapping once the new program is in?

Get a multimeter on it, Kip!

Hoping to get down to this one again this year. Very much enjoyed the last one - almost too much to see. -
Red J-reg (valver?) heading up Marshall Street in Holbeck at about 15:25 today. Your offside stop light was out!
-
I'm interested so long as the screen quality is on a par with Sekurit and the wire elements aren't too distracting.
-
Dave, could you put me down for one please? Should have done this a long time ago... Neil

Change the oil temp sender first an see if that helps.
