Hi Sean, How does £20 posted sound to you? Dave
-
Looking good Bryan. Good to see a well used daily in such tidy condition. Dave

Mark, For some reason I can't see the photo's. Would be interested to see as mine could do with something like this. I presume it was a local company. Do you have any details and rough cost figure. Thanks, David

On the one hand it makes absolute sense, but it's the typical response we see to every situation. Rather than trying to understand why car drivers drive that way and look to educate them, they look to modify their behaviour by fining them. For me education is key and the reality of this policy is that we don't have enough traffic police to enforce it. As a tax payer I would rather there was an overhaul of the driving test to ensure we are putting competent drivers on the road, than paying for more officers to police the roads. After all, how can you pass a driving test without going on a motorway? Having both a motorcycle and car license I would like some of how they teach motorcyclists to drive to be embedded in car driving lessons. Driving a car is not just about car control it's about hazard perception, reading the road, planning and putting your vehicle in positions that allow you to respond in advance of situations developing. Driving on motorways provides the best examples of this. How many people sit in the inside lane at an on-ramp section when there is no traffic in lane 2, meaning that those joining the motorway have more difficulty in filtering in. How many people even understand what the various line markings mean. These help you understand where there are hazards, they are not just there to help your auto lane control function. How many people in lane two, when they see a car just ahead in lane one approaching a slower moving vehicle in that lane, look to move out to lane three to help the flow. Lack of forward planning also wastes fuel as you are more likely to accelerate and brake hard in responding to situations. However I support the fact that someone is looking to do something about it, I just don't believe it will have the desired effect after all mobile phone use is still rampant despite various high profile campaigns.

Could it be injector related? I'm not sure how you can test them on the 9A but on the old k-jet you took them out and placed them in a container, disconnect the coil and held the air meter flap up whilst cranking the engine. If they are bunked up they can present with similar symptoms to what you are describing.

As others have said, it's not bad. I just can't begin to understand the blue rear quarter and the front end. Round me there is an old shape yellowy/gold A3 with the grill off a newer Audi and it just looks naff!

I like the look of those wheels. Look forward to seeing pics with them on the car.

Carbon Fibre Tailgate - Manufacture Process Begins
destructiv dave replied to 16VG60's topic in Exterior
Thanks for the detailed response John. Is LWS also looking at offering a carbon spoiler? -
I think John Mitchell (16vG60) is looking to do this conversion to his car as he was sourcing parts some time back. Might be worth checking with him.

Yep. That's the central locking actuator for the petrol cap. It may be that when it's done what that one has done, then air is continuously being forced through that gap.
-
Glad it worked out well and you picked a nice day to go for a drive.

Rear seatbelt upper securing bolt, spacer and washer

Sorry, can't help you in sourcing what you need but if you get stuck just take the rear seats and seat belts out for the MOT. If it's not there you can't fail!! -
Quick hello from a soon to be owner
destructiv dave replied to geoffersmaher's topic in Newbies Hangout
Welcome Geoff. Lots of really good advice on here to help you decide which is the best model for your needs. What I would say is don't be put off any of them by the standard negative comments (G60's liable to blow up; VR6 nose heavy; 16v underpowered) and get the straightest most honest one you can find. The engine characteristics do give them slightly different personalities when you want to open them up with pro's and con's to each. Good luck with your search. -
Quick question: are you looking to go wide-track or go 5 stud (and end up going wide-track in doing so). I only ask as you can get Passat parts and stay 4 stud.

2013 Late Headlight Switch Group Buy. Stock Now Arrived.
destructiv dave replied to 8vMatt's topic in Forum Group-Buys
Mine arrived yesterday. Echo the comments of others: great product, great price, great communication. Cheers mate. -
Did you not just have the car resprayed? If so see if your paint shop has any left.
-
There's a little plastic tab that you have to lift and then twist.
-
Sticking to the fuel side of things, it could be that your injectors need a clean. There not too difficult to test and give symptoms similar to what you describe.
-
It's correct to only have two. I believe that some US spec clocks came with an LCD display on the rev counter and the third bulb backlights that. UK cars never got this display (and I'm not sure what info it shows), so this bulb is never required.
-
Front end parts will be fine. For the rear, I'm going to say yes although I have seen posts somewhere where it lists all the different rear beam part numbers and possibly any subtle differences so could be worth checking for this (may be on ClubGTI forum). However if there are issues with the rear beam fitting, then you can just change the rear hubs to 5 stud on the beam you already have.

The G60 RZ's are push fit. I think I need the twist and lock ones. I know what you mean though about sets being more expensive than alloys in some cases. Bloody annoying and means they are more likely to get robbed as well.
-
Good choice of wheel. Good luck with getting a set of centre caps. I have similar alloys, but off a BMW 325sport touring and am struggling to get a set of caps for sensible money. Keep checking eBay though as you may get lucky.
-
VR6 alloys are 5-stud so obviously not a simple fit. Staying 4 stud does offer you a wide range of period wheels if that's the look you go for.

Sebrings should be the standard option wheels for your car. They are pretty cheap to buy though a little heavy and narrow from what I remember.
