  1. The rubber door seals are just push on rather than needing sealant. Are you sure it is door rubber seals and not something else like blocked sunroof drains or door membranes? Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  2. Nearly spat my coffee out when i saw this £13k Mk3 16v Golf (5 door too). I do like them and have a similar car with less miles and less doors but thought £5k would be more fitting. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185689812984
  3. Nice new seats and look forward to seeing you progress this year. December spot on the calendar is nice, I got the February spot with my white one though I just see its flaws in my picture (though will be resolved in 2023).
  4. I'm not sure on the stalling but last year I chased a clunk for ages and changed a load of stuff but found in the end it was the bolts that hold the cross member and bumper on were not to torque on the passenger side. You could also check your engine mounts are all tight as well. Mine went on the mot shacker machine and all sorts and couldn't find it until those bolts were tightened. It went on for months and I was ready to burn the car at one point. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  5. Yes Beru is the best though I bought a Bremi back in 2018 when I was fault finding before the car went off to Stealth and it's still ok today... for now..
  6. That is excellent news and a coil is easier/cheaper than a MAF so win win. I have an extension plate on my coil to stop it getting so hot (and perhaps prevent it cracking?). I got it off the Facebook group but forget the name of the seller, perhaps someone can remind me? It was 25 quid or thereabouts and seemed a good bit of preventative modding. 7. About 18 mths I stumped up the c250quid for a bosch one following poor engine data results on a jp group maf. I tried cleaning the original to no avail. My symptoms were missing/coughing on revs from idle. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  8. Nothing for mine for Christmas though I did drive it to Christmas Dinner at my Mums. I have some bits to fit i bought throughout the year (audioscapes, oil/volt gauges, steering wheel) but right now I am building a garage extension, home office and doing final bits on the mk3 16v so it can be MOTd and probably sold on. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

    Clacking Noise

Possibly - timing noise starts off being noisey when the engine is cold and quietens when it warms and eventually makes a noise all the time. Any history of them being done? If you do consider using the plastic mk4 tensioner instead of the original metal tensioner.
  10. I dont know the car but the MOT history reads like it needs some love underneath- perhaps just surface rust that needs repairing before it gets worse and probably needs new brake lines. It sounds a good basis for a project however for just 2k more you could probably get your hands on a better example with lower miles too. I chap called Lance is looking to move a very tidy corrsdo on for that sort of money on the CCGB Facebook page. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah it's been on the car for a year now. It could be a reaction between base coat and your lacquer possibly on yours?
  12. I used HB 496 as well on a repair on the mk3 16v - blended into the panel below the yellow line. Black side trim was removed before painting and masked off whilst polishing after wet and dry. In hindsight and on talking to other painters it would be better to get a clear that has a 2 part mix but as I think can be seen in the picture the repair worked well regardless. Before pic as well to illustrate area painted. As you can see above the yellow line the whole car needs a good machine polish.
  13. When I enquired to sell my car (decided not to in the end) a couple of places who held both auction and traditional for sale for a price adverts recommended auction for the Corrado in their experience. They felt Corrados did better in an auction environment: they sit forever on the private market so it doesn't look to most buyers that there is much interest so they wait for the price to drop and instead with auction there is a feeling of demand for the particular car with multi bidders. Sort of makes sense to me but market is not great to sell into right now or perhaps in the traditional selling window March onwards next year either however good cars will always sell for the right place eventually. Some auctions hold the money in escrow accounts which is a safer way of handling money of bundles of notes however do check the terms on when money will be transferred to your account as for me it would need to be in my account before the car is collected. Mileage can be an issue but you can still achieve 5 figures with high miles (125k+) and as numbers of corrados fall and the quality gap between cars that have had a lot of love thrown at them vs cars that have just made it to 25-30 years widens then their values will stablise i.e. no one who has put a lot of effort into a car will let it go for a song (unless forced of course) and there are a lot of quality Corrados being renovated at the moment, some of which will make it to market. If you look at the classified for any 30-35 year old plus sports type car with 6 cylinders you'll struggle to see even find ropey cars for less than 10k. The Corrado is cheap in that company at least.
  14. What products/techniques are you using to clean up that grit mixed in with the wax? I tried gunk mixed with apc but still had the scrape with plastic tools. Is there a miracle way to clean this up... or is that wishful thinking. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  15. The car has been for sale for much of this year. It seems light on underside photos, unusual for that selling format, which presumably means one thing - its not the clean car it should be with such low mileage. There isn't any paperwork to support the mileage pre 2007 and records available since 2007 are few and far between. I am sure it will sell but buyer should buy on condition Inc history trail rather than what is recorded on the odometer without the paper trial to support. The condition doesn't reflect 4000 miles to me. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  16. Anything is possible but not heard of it being done. There is a mk2 with K20 swap and assume you would need custom mounts and custom management. I also sawon youtube a 997 with a turbocharged K20 swap - the ultimate car without chocolate engine maybe?
  17. KW V3s are nice - I had a go in one recently and from the passenger seat it was comfortable, more so than I had expected. I've heard the V1s were harsh but never tried them out and could have been someone with large alloys added to the mix. N100 VSR last sold for £14850 https://glenmarch.com/auction-cars/show-backup-image/43601/results One point - I don't see how 9 stamps in the service book is anything to shout about... mine has 27 stamps :S £24k seems optimistic but I have noticed an improvement in prices again and this being low mileage will make people blindly buy as some sort of over riding indicator it's a great car, which this one probably is going by the condition report. Either way a rising tide lifts all boats and I hope the seller gets his estimate.
  18. Me too - thanks fen (ordered the yellow ones) as also struggled like you ger040 for hours with the same gear as you had the last time I did a repair.
  19. Nice look forward to continued updates. Caught the rad support in time. What's plans for the engine - looks to be coming out. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  20. Couple of things to try - you can put a relay 100 (or bridge the contacts) on location 67/167 and your fuel pump will run constantly on ignition. Take off the fuel line at the rail and you'll be able to easily see if you have fuel (you could do that anyway without changing the relay). However if it's been sat for 10 years it could be anything - immobiliser, crusted up injectors, no spark, wiring fault (mouse chewn).
  21. :) nice detail though What have you done about blocking the hole on the bumper? I'm tempted to do this myself as I think it spoils the lines. I have seen somewhere in the world that Corrados had purpose made caps but can't find the part number. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  22. I've got a Hornet Cat1 fitted and never had a false alarm or any other problems with it in 5 years of having it fitted. It has 2 immobilisers and total closure. To be honest I just took what was recommended to me by the alarm fitter. There were other options available at the time but I cant remember what they were. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  23. Extensive checking! What about the rotor arm on the distributor itself? On my mk2 16v I did similar checks with voltage etc but found the rotor arm was a touch loose so when it span it didn't hit the contacts in the cap. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

    Replacement key?

I've got a bag full of the tumblers but wanting to keep the original keys if I can. I would just like a spare key really, everything is working fine but I can tell the key itself looks less sharp than it would have done so not ideal for copying. Cheers Crasher - TPS - I don't think they deal with the public? Good move though if I can get them to help me out. I will try my local dealer with the part no too.
  25. Welcome and feel free to ask Qs lots of old hands on the forum and there are some how to guides in the tech section (you have to pay annual membership fee - £15 to access though)
