  1. GLWS its a shame to see you moving on and the car- no shame if you change your mind either- I did once gave the chap back his deposit on black magic . Its well worth the money your asking.
  2. Yes I’m pretty sure you need 3rd for 60 in the G60 - I suppose it’s how the other gears behave in the cht- I know my Mk2 gets to 60 in second .
  3. I’m not entirely sure but it’s good to have a spare 4 cylinder O2a- it’s seems have a different looking shift tower like a hockey stick .
  4. Car looks nice - sorry about your misfortune- I have an o2A Mk3 TDI box sitting in my yard under cover - code is CTN - let me know if this is an interest to you - I think they have a good rep for high torque but never done much research about it but I believe they use them on high power conversions.
  5. Another little fuelling project I’m working on for the KR - Pro Alloy big fan of my first experience of thier goods - stressfull been shipping things from all over Europe Mainly the housing buffers - bloody rip odd for the little bits. I also got myself some intank fuel line which is differnt then R9 and I believe is known as R10- R9 will melt in tank. https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/rubber-in-tank-fuel-hose-by-cohline-per-metre-2190-0615
  6. It’s great to see that they chose the best colour 😎 I’m bias !
  7. Be great if it gets recorded and put on youtube. Looks like a proper bare metal job .
  8. The funniest one a came across was a guy in the early 90s when I was working for SGB - he was a body builder and even had a big image of himself on his car and the food sponsor energy whatever it is - so goes he lasted a day as couldn't handle the equipment as muscles he had never used- he looked a bloody tortoise with a heavy shell useless. From my own experience have put three through college averaging 5 k which i didn't get back either in funding - not to bore you with but had this birdcage scaffold going through the factory and it was x2 6 hour shifts over Saturday and Sunday when we could get into the line - so the one lad was saving for a mortgage I trained - anyway fluffed on a Monday morning after 2 weekends and had a tantrum and left the yard- well it was 500 gross for 12 hours work over 12 weekends- as if you wouldn't take that looking for a mortgage add that onto your weeks wage . So goes the 5 lads stayed on job were all over 40 long termers I drafted in from my days working at firms before I started off- they loved it and if one couldn't come in they refused extra labour to split that wage amongst them. We put the side scaffolds up first and then the centre part was up and down every other weekend in till it reached the end- so the machinery and the staff could continue as normal and an alloy tower could be placed on the scaffold to paint the ceiling. I told the kid you dont know how lucky you are when I was your age I was doing cantaliver drop lifts for vodaphone (era of mobile phone growth and mast installations) every weekend when i was saving up and that was when they tube was all heavy gauge you snowflake. Picture below 92 in Brum and Church next to the Villa stadium- aye crap money compared to today as well and charge hands were monsters and alcoholics but grafters. There is even worse then leavers they are starting firms that are shit scaffs and barely qualified and were wank scaffs- I can only think they must of grown drugs or insurance fraud to get the money to start off as they are mostly druggies and also never saved a penny in their life and in the Monday club- be loads of accidents as they have no standards or morals.
  9. We have a culture now we want all and we want it straight away . Its a sad war everyone is someone son - one thing it has highlighted is how tanks and heavy armour is becoming obsolete- you certainly dont want to be in a metal tub in the Ukraine at the moment, sitting duck. As mentioned crimea - could of prevented this war if they started taking action then hitting the wallet- its also highlighted the failure of UK energy - we need to build some serious stations and get some big juicy filters .
  10. The UK has huge quality issue in most sectors these days. The main issues are poor management- especially amongst uni leavers with no time served on the front line so dont really understand the sector and the workings . s i. e 70 s 80 s site foreman ex brickie (gets respect off work force and cant pull the wool over they eyes. - now uni leaver never got hands dirty - easily blagged- can not identify the foundations of error and nip it in the bud. Staff that are not easily replaced so hard to reprimand Programmers have caused generic havoc to customer service by computer says no and no individual problem solving or responsibility of staff. Lazy staff/ owners. Too many middle men. None specialised time served tradesmen that have learnt the proper way. Lack of quality apprenticeships and too many attending none specific vocational higher level education. All these combined have led to a pretty toxic trade and service industry- Im still on the tools to control quality but when I come off I will inspect every job but the hard thing will be replacing the scaffolders when they get fed up of me sending them back to a job and highlighting their errors- but an error in my trade can easily lead to a prison sentence if an accident occurs due to a fault in the scaffold which will primarily be me getting clink not the lazy so and so that did half a job. I would say if you have not fell out with a builder or someone carrying out a big job for you then you have taken your eye off the ball , my last project here plumber got thrown off the job and so did the plasterer - dont hold back and let them convince you what is good for their short cut is good for you . The ironic thing is life has got so much easier with modern material and the work place in general but the standards have reached piss poor levels. Just look at the Victorian buildings - the tools they had - wages- and compare that to a micky mouse new build of today .
  11. Mine was on a transit flat bed pick up - clutch change - few days later driving down the motorway and rear drive shaft fell off as they forgot to tighten bolts - disgrace.
  12. Yes the factory long life is the best quality money can buy- the oe manufacturer was Leistritz which was later purchased by Eberspacher. Ive been collecting this 16v exhaust for the last few years - some odd nos parts do come up in the States. This is for sale- shows how well its has lasted. https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/vw-corrado-vr6-original-abgasanlage-leistritz/1983881640-223-1100 v
  13. Some good bits on here. https://www.butlertechnik.com/installation-accessories-c63/fuel-line-accessories-c70
  14. Good stuff mate - it was well crusty the old one- could see micro cracks and that hard think I could of broke it- you might as well do it as i dealt you will sell your car when the time comes lol . Will be doing the vr one to as that is very crusty. Ive just notice as well I need to go back to it tomorrow as the white clip has snapped and i need to twist the hose- last owner got the rear brake lines done- shite ones and looks like they snapped it to get the brake line into position.
  15. I took off again for a good picture - it has sleeve so your good to go. The last picture shows the line other side of filter which you can still buy for 50 euro so im just putting a new line on there- but yes you could just replicate what i have done the other side with a short cut off codan hose 7.3 mm. .
  16. Yes they have a metal lining - I only tighten with a screw driver as not to over toque . The black part is the same but of a mk2 swirl pot I have spare im experimenting on - bottom picture you can see the black pipe I cut off the mushroom and that is the pipe.
  17. Did the fuel filter rubber replacement today - pretty easy .
  18. My fastest was a brand new mustang S550 5.0 425 bhp - also 996 and 997 these put the power down better 320 Bhp . The most premium car I have owned by a country Mile R129 Sl500 5.0 around 305 bhp . The engine bay still looked newish after 20 years - absolutely best quality cars ever built . Fastest I’ve been in is the latest M5.
  19. Yes mate it it has one of them rotten mushroom fittings cut of the the fitting- slice the fitting open do not cut hose . This genuine codan hose should work fine cut section as needed. I will use these clamps also with soft edges, . Just dont over tighten them - the lines are pretty hardy its just the rubber hose on the end that rots and the mushroom sleeves rust . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132124984649?var=431472213572 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/382558389619 You can also buy these sleeves. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333662625744 The genuine vag hose is 7.5 mm part number N90080102 - I would just by the cadan 7.3 mm its ethanol safe as well.
  20. Maybe the new mouse invasion will give everyone a bit of encouragement to fit before they get chewed up.
  21. I have done a bit more research on this and yes its correct- cut off the metal mushroom and install hose and clamps to both ends,
  22. I got some nos ones few years back - one each side but Im still going to buy these as spares because of the mold shape is hard to replicate.
  23. Yeah I got some spare they are mega money - also came on an audi i believe- I will also be buying some of them fuel lines from the passat but have you fitted them yet- any issues ?
