Thanks cressa never been at the back of the fuse box so this will be where I would struggle.
-
Ok so you have the plugs that plug under the seat , what about the other end of the loom how do you get these out of a car, remove trims from car or the fuse box ? Thanks - obviously have the heat loom all ready in my car so more about the motor loom . Thanks
-
Thanks the advice chaps .

Please may I ask a few questions about the Factory Recaros. 1)How do you know if the seat has heating ? Because a lot of the seats purchased second hand where put into cars that did not have the heat seating loom and switch set up. 2)If it does have heating is it controlled by the same heating switch as stock on dash with standard leather heated seats ? 3)Does it just plug into to the same loom as the heated switch of standard leather ? 4) How easy is it to remove the recaro loom ? 5)Do the recaro seats remove from the car the same method as the stock seats by undoing the bolt at the front and slipping them out if the track Thanks.

I've had one in my car for three years and works great with no issues, I would say its an upgrade from the original as been lighter which is Ideal for a six cylinder engine in a small car. Also solid flange at the top corner.

You can still get the motors pretty cheap same as a T4 if I remember. I got a new OE new old stock the other day for make an offer £33.00 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Transporter-T4-Front-Wiper-Motor-1C0955119-New-Genuine-VW-Part/183896279118?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

They are called bbs ch .

Looks similar to a bbs Rx226 it I can see writing on the alloy which rx226 do not have . they look great !

Just had a look in there weather has dropped a few degrees tonight ! All cables looked connecting and very clean in there, so I imagine it might be carbon build up in the motor or need lubing, think slamming the bonnet loosens it up a bit and then works. Going to give it a water test to make sure no water is coming through the registration lights.
-
Ok I think I know what you mean check the rubber casing between the tailgate and shell ?
-
Thanks do you know where the cables run ib to the shell of the car ? Thanks
-
Yes rare agreed can't deny that but most people's cup of tea I wouldn't think so. All I want is Shaun's Recaros ha to finish my car or anyone else' s ? God knows how much VSR fetch now I reckon 2.5k.
-
Yeah but Recaro, Corrado scripted gauge pods, and VSR (pierburg )are VW options so are highly sort after as correct period factory upgrades.
-
Its not about what most people flock around that most Corrado owners want, they want their dream Corrado which is recaro, gauge pods, VSR /Shcrick, Turbo supercharged for some. How often do you see a well sorted one that has all these options without the seller selling them on first. Well lets hope its goes for strong money for the sellers sake as I have seen the seller mention 50k been spent on the car.

Has anyone ever had this issue before. Spoiler does not raise manually or automatically. However if I open the trunk and then shut spoiler it works on manual and also auto 60 mph and carries on working until the car is laid up to rest then same again have to open boot and shut it for it to function correctly. Does the cabling run down the passenger floor pan/ rear door card. Im wondering if I have unsettled some of the cabling whilst doing the passenger insulation Thanks In advance.

It can get to you sometimes but we somehow all manage . One thing I will say about the 996 is a great driving machine and I totally disagree the interior is poor quality as a lot of reviews state, I had alcantara headlining on mine and also the leather is that thick they must of got it from a Rhino. Just everytime you go and see a Porsche specialist they seem to wiggle 1.5 to 2 k off you from my experience. I've put a couple of pics on my album of my old seal grey 996.2 do- miss the old girl. In fact sod it think i'm going to sell my Golf Mk7, I've lived without one to long and use My Mk2 golf as a daily what they were intended for. The bloomin Merc having major regrets selling that ! https://photos.app.goo.gl/KofL9bRESGSeZJv47

Totally agree with the Campaign comments, I personally wouldn't pay any premium for it because I'm not into the exterior or interior colour scheme, sort of reminds me of the special editions that they had in the R129 which equated to ornate trims and a funny name like alamantine, these hold no extra premiums in the R129 world , unless it has a SL60 or Sl73 stamp on the back then your sharing the same engine as a Zonda so well worth the extra. Would like to add a 911 to my collection again but no urgency there are 5 pages alone of 996, full of them on Autotrader - could not justify selling a rare Corrado for a 996 as bloomin hard to get hold of a well sorted Rado with a Schrick and your desired interior/exterior colour scheme.

There is also a Storm for sale with only 24K miles on the clock. If you could knock a few K off it and spend a few k on it I think there is an easy 5k profit for someone. Collectors like two things LTD Edition + Low Mileage. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1193094

Modified and not an original G60 but what a lovely looking motor and great colour with great history. I would change the front grill and lights to original 4 round Hella but the rest would stay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-Mk2-GTI-G60/184154452313?hash=item2ae075f159:g:DXsAAOSwGj9eNCS5 -
Ok my guess is 24k.
-
Its a fully restored Corrado apparently. It was up for 40K. I reckon it will go between 20k - 25K or might not sell because the reserve might be to high.

Be good to see how much this goes for at auction we should have a sweepstake? Is it rude to say what I think it will go for ?

No worries George can replicate any fuel line, they custom made my Injector rails on my Mk2 Golf 16V which are a lot more complex so they will 100 % be able to do it for you. Really a ton of these need making at least to feed the market. You'll have to bell them up on Monday and have chat with them if you decide to use them, very helpful staff there. I would be careful making your own up unless you have a facility to pressure test as the last thing you want is squirting fluid on a hot exhaust, Of course Hel carry out this procedure to any lines they custom make.

VR6 not starting, low voltage at fuel injector rail, can anyone help?

Sounds like it could be the NO1 suspect then Shaun. -
Geaorge Hel Fuel lines will be able to make you a stainless steel one up and also will supply you with banjo bolts and washers. Think they charge about £50.00 includes postage a line and you'll have to send your old one to be custom made. Might well be worth asking them to record the manufacture to help other folks out so they don't have to send there old line in - If you have butchered the old line taking it off you will have to do a diagram of how it looked or send in your whole refurbished fuel pot with pump etc. I have used these guys they are the Bees Knees. https://www.helperformance.com/ Or you could even do a group buy to bring costs down.
