  1. Bremen is what I wanted originally but after reading the newer reviews I'm kind of hesitant. If it was half the cost I would be down even after reading those but not at a premium cost. https://www.amazon.com/BLAUPUNKT-Bremen-SQR-46-DAB/dp/B07XVMBKW4 Also back in the days with my MK2 16V, I went all in with blaupunkt, well I got nothing but frustrations. Problems with the sub, the speakers, the radio, the amp. 16 years ago I told myself never again... Back in the days they were telling me, you have to go with their top quality or you run into problems... Yeah, it was pretty pricey already enough and I didn't like being told that. That shop were the only ones carrying it and they don't anymore... I mean Walmart is pretty much the only one who sells blaupunkt here now and that is not a compliment... And the fact it was transferred to the Chinese I think in 2015 is a "deterrent" to me as well. That said I like it a lot but with the cost and the newer reviews I'm out... I've been thinking of the original SQR45 instead which is German and green illumination but rare and old and pricey too.
  2. So that confirms my thoughts, late spec Corrado had the newer Gamma 4 but I really like the fit of the Gamma 3, just not 100% period correct but I can live with it I think! I'll let you know what I find!
  3. Sorry, the first lines were for Shaun! And yes the rest was for you Keyo! Well I'm glad you like it as well. I'll do some search around and keep you posted. I would not mind having that cd in but I won't pay double just for it... Cheers!
  4. You don't like the Gamma 3 or the cd input??? Me, CD in or not, I like that it matches the dimples from the dash switches. But that's just me. Oh and Keyo, I value extremely your point of views. I don't want to win, just exchange with mates that have way more knowledge than I have. Cheers! To be honest, it's just to fill the hole and look age appreciate. I never listen to music when the best simphony comes from the VR!
  5. Ha haa thanks! I figured it would be a background you mate's may recognize 😉. It seems like that bible is never too far from me 😁 I'm looking for an extra one of those btw! I could trade in my A/C switch panel if someone wants to attempt to make it happen 👍
  6. Thank you for your advice, I'll concentrate my search on the 35/40/45 models instead, I appreciate your inputs. They are pretty pricey and rare to find though so we'll see how it goes! Cheers!
  7. Thanks Keyo as usual! I've never seen them physically so it's hard to tell for sure from pictures but I thought the gamma 3 would be a better fit with the dimpled switches in the dash? I probably should follow your advice and go with the gamma 4 though... Cheers
  8. Thanks so much to you two for helping figuring something out, you mates are fantastic! I do want an OEM look and these suggestions are all good. Ideally I would prefer with CD, that CD Gamma is absolutely perfect but the price holly! So that leaves me with the Nakamichis CD-35Z, CD-45Z, CD-400 for my top choice on a CD unit. Is there a way to tell which is red or green or you can only tell when they are plugged in? That said, I like the Gamma III and IV as well. I don't know why but I think I prefer the III to the IV but maybe for a late spec Corrado the IV is more appropriate? Any thoughts on that? The Blaupunkt Keyo has is very nice, with a green display I would go for something like that as well. I was looking at the unit from the Golf City, it's a great unit if only the button were not red with a blue screen. It's pretty much a Gamma CD but here they go for $25!!! https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds/pts/d/surrey-vw-2007-golf-city-stereo/7223457750.html Cheers!
  9. I'm looking for a stereo, you know one that's appropriate for the Corrado... I had my heart set on the new Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 but after reading the newer reviews I don't think I will commit and it's pretty pricey too. What do you mates have in your Corrado? I think I like the style of the Nakamichi but I'm not sure which to pick, CD-400, CD-35 or? I like the style of those but I'm also hesitant as they are pretty old and still on the expensive side. I like the older Blaupunkt but not sure on models. Anyways, I'm just curious to see any recommendations you may have! Cheers!

I like it! Perfect for the MK2 mate
  11. Thank you Keyo, you're always super helpful! I contacted both yesterday, one said no to shipping in Canada and the other seller hasn't responded yet. I'll see but my hope is not high! Cheers!
  12. Thanks so much! Curious to find out. Cheers!
  13. Thanks Keyo. I called about a dozen of businesses here and no one can get them anymore. No manufacturers supplies them here in Canada. I tried contacting them directly saying I could organize a group buy, like 5 to 10 but that's not enough, would need several hundreds... A friend bought a parts car and I ended up paying to get the used windscreen off as it is the only way left to have one here... Pretty sad!
  14. I too, needed those windscreen strips so thanks to Keyo for the links. Here in Canada, nobody sells windscreens for our car anymore and I'm wondering if Pilkington's would send one or more my way? Does someone have their contact info, email address by any chance? Cheers!

  16. Ya, that's how our cars came equipped from factory here in NA. Those two buttons, they do just attach (slides in and clip) to the heater panel. I deleted the A/C on my car and for me one of the challenge was to find a lighter trim without the holes which I did manage to find. Those two buttons for the A/C are still available new online. I sold all of the A/C setup except for the lighter trim of someone is interested in it let me know! Cheers
  17. I like those as well! And like you, I'm definitely going with black leads as well. Cheers
  18. What an amazing turn around mate! Very happy for you. It's a huge accomplishment and now it's just a matter of adjusting a few things and you get to enjoy it. Cheers
  19. With my reservoir, I ended up brushing it with that creamy product hair dresser uses to color hair, it's 40% volume. You brush that on, wrap it in plastic wrap and leave it in the sun all day. It's not like new but it got 50% whiter I'll say. I'll do it again to see how white it gets... Just putting it out there as it seems there's an interest and we are not all lucky like Martin and have a new one in a box from somewhere. lol. Cheers!
  20. Oh nice and so did I! I bought the last 2 Audi wiper arms in NA a few weeks ago! Not installed yet though. What size wipers did you ended up buying? I got both in 19". It looks really good on your car, can't wait to install them now! Did you keep your original caps? One of mine is cracked and the new ones are not totally the same. I've read you need to remove a washer or something? Anyway, looks really nice! Modernized oem looking.
  21. Thanks for documenting all that work you've done with the MK4 rear calipers. It's further down in my list of things to do... That camber tool is very cool, never seen that before and I'm going to buy one! Keep up the good work and thanks for all those pictures. Cheers mate
  22. I agree, me if I have to downshift from 2nd to 1st, I always wait for the car to be at a complete stop before doing so. MT-90 is what you guys uses for the gearbox? I'm debating between this and the Amsoil manual gearbox oil... Great fix on your ABS by the way, I've learn something new. Good job!
  23. Very nice progress indeed! I understand your "stress" after doing so many changes, I feel the same way. You know, if you've done all of this work so far, I don't see why you couldn't figure out the issue if one present itself... Everything will get sorted out one by one. That fire damaged car sure is a real treasure, good for you! I too will be modifying my gearbox with a Wavetrac. I also sourced a R&P 3.94 and a 5th from a diesel, should make a nice combo. Keep up the good work! Cheers
  24. I could have never done it without your help mate and I'm very thankful to you and your time with this. Sincerely appreciate it! Take care! JF
  25. Thank you, much appreciated! You know at first I went to the junk yard and pulled a 02J from an MK4. But when you take in consideration that the case is no good nor the "L" shape lever. Then may as well upgrade to new bushings while you're there... In the end, I checked with my local VW price wise, I had all my list of parts (bushings, screws, clips, tower)... It wasn't that bad! Yes there's lots like 20 something bags but they are all readily available parts and cheap. It was a no brainer! So I'm using only the two shift cables from the one I pulled finally as these are expensive! Cheers
