  1. David, I'm thinking if the plate has rusted though he could undo the bottom nut and lift it and just hacksaw it maybe...
  2. LOL - Yeah I've been in KFC with Kev where he's ordered a meal and asked for no fries and drink - bonkers!
  3. Locking - In future please do not create multiple posts about the same issue!
  4. Yeah, if it's coming through from the inside then I bet it's been replaced in the past and not prepped properly... As above replacement is the only way, either new while you can still get them or a good second hand one. easy enough to fit as its bolt on although should be sealed to the body
  5. Nice one -these are about a fiver from VW and come with new O rings.
  6. Nice one - getting a bit annoyed now at people on here saying stuff is obsolete when it's not! I just ordered a full set of interior trim clips (around 25 different parts) and not one part was obsolete or on back order
  7. Jesus - not good - you might find it's the top spring plate that's corroded... Bolts should only be really hand tight so shouldn't be difficult to undo - maybe soak overnight in WD40
  8. Yep, that VW flush is great, especially if there is any sign of rust in the system.
  9. I've had several, all completly solid and rattle free with all the trim in place... Just wish the Corrado interior was that solid! I did have my G60 arches stuck on with Tiger Seal though... :)
  10. Of course they do - why would you think otherwise? :? Cost pennies and renewing them keeps water out the boot - why the hell anyone would fit with silicone is beyond me!
  11. Hello, worth putting what type of car you have and the model year and also if anything has been done recently in terms of servicing.
  12. There are adjustable rubber stops on the underside of the tailgate, you can also get some adjustment out of the lock position using the allen head bolts (car side)
  13. Looks fantastic - what did you actually do to the arches out of interest? Mines being painted next week - what make of paint did you use? water based I assume?
  14. Ah... I just assumed you'd either re-drilled or used the Eurospec conversion hubs.... I didn't think the 16V wheel bearings and CV's actually fitted the VR hubs? Glad you are getting it sorted though with those VR6 Type 35 discs
  15. Yeah - Schrick is a nice bit of kit - cooling fins too.... There is an Audi engine with a sump that fits but the cooling fins are then sideways to the airflow.
  16. That's good to know mate but makes me worry even more about the quality of my CNC head and didn't yours come with the valves / springs in place ? I think mine is just a standard GTI one and doesn't have the sodium exhaust valves - runs hotter that ever but doesn't loose any water and everything else seems to be working fine.... I wouldn't buy another to be honest though, too much money and the corrosion on the outside of mine was unacceptable - man in the shed next time for me... Also were you running a cam? I know Shrick say you should uprate the valve springs with a high lift cam but most people don't....
  17. Might be worth borrowing an ECU just to rule it out... Could also be something like a bad battery or alternator / regulator Also maybe worth cleaning / re-seating all the plugs and connections to the ABS pump / Valve block.
  18. Relays behind the glove box.... How old is the fluid? Have you checked the ABS ECU for water damage ? - I'd do this before anything else...
  19. Hi Trev, did you bleed the master cylinder? If this doesn't sort it then the MC might be at fault - seals damaged...
