The rad is pretty smart (as far as radiators go!). Just waiting on a slot with the laser profiler and get the costs. Wont be long chaps!
-
I stripped some RS's with a standard socket set.

Hi, sorry for the slow response on these. I made a sample bracket which was tried against a standard and special radiator but the holes weren't perfect and I wasnt confident with them. After taking some detailed measurements of the radiators I now have a bracket that fits perfectly!! I will get some costs together and let you know.

*** Importance of having a fire extinguisher in the car ****
ChrisL replied to lilfuzzer's topic in General Car Chat
I have one attached to the front of the drivers seat, I think it was a factory option. -
I bought the genuine clips and borrowed the proper tool from a mate but you can pick the tool up on ebay for a reasonable price

My CV's were perfect but I did split the drive shafts apart to powder coat the shafts. THats another thing on the list along with new clips for the rubbers.

That pretty much covers everything I replaced when I did mine. You wil also have to factor in some new brake lines which can be made in copper nickel or buy the remanufactured ones from the forum as some of these will be lost when trying to undo them. When doing the rear beam you will probably have to replace the bias valve as these generally dont come off and you'll end up hacking it off! The compensator springs look good if you wire wheel and have them re-plated. Other little bits are the big clips on the rear beam where the flexi hoses meet the rigid pipes. Handbrake cable clips on the beam You will probably want to renew or re-plate the brake caliper bolts and refurb the hex parts of the slider pins. Exhaust hangers aren't available to i went to some lengths to refurbish mine. Petrol tank straps to powder coat and the clips replated. Exhaust heat sheilds look good after a vapour blast and you may want to replace the clips that hold them on. I'll have a think about the front and add to the list! You will need really deep pockets though..............

I was sent the non abs one by mistake and it came with the cap.

Ah yes, I have that sprinter too.

Hi Michael, One of my VAG service workshop manual has the details for changing the LED's for the warning lights, I'll scan it at work tomorrow and email you.
-
Check with Billcor, he may be willing to sell.
-
Could you tell me the part number on the package please?
-
Storm looks lovely! Wouldn't mind some more pics of your daily.
-
Thanks Daren, 2 new sets on ebay at the moment.
-
The best wheels you've had so far Steve, they really suit the Blackberry colour.
-
Can you refurbish the rear Corrado script?
-
Bugger! Was it the drivers side that snapped by any chance?
-
Tried the fan beackets and all seem OK, just a small tweek required. I've also got all the measurements off the standard radiator now. The prices of the fans are on my note pad at work but not there till wednesday now, I also need to get the profiling prices in.
-
I think it's pretty inevitable that ones going to snap, they just do! Can you leave it in soak for a few days before trying a breaker bar?
-
If you go on ETKA all the part numbers are on there. I have all the part numbers and prices on an excel sheet but not the description that tells you where they go! I'll see what I can get you. Front bolts are M12x1.5 x 82lg, part number N90484003 - TPS price £2.12 each inc VAT Steering rack bolts are M8 x 75, part number N90184501 - TPS price £1.44 each inc VAT Locking Nuts for above M8, part number N90226403 - TPS price £0.56 each inc VAT If you need anymore, let me know, I replaced everything!!
-
The steering rack bolts have a spline bit on the shank, just tap them with a hammer and they will come out. Put a nut on the end if you are planning on re-using them. I bought new though. One of them front bolts is likely to snap! If you can, try and get to the captive nut and soak in wd40 for a while. If they do snap you will have to drill them out carefully until you can get the arm off then drill the centre of the bolt with a pilot drill getting bigger until it comes out. Re-tap with an m12x1.5 tap (fine thread)

Love the RS's with red centres and especially that last picture outside VW! We should start a thread and everyone should take a picture of their C outside their local VW.
