The 2 rear ones (1 under the backbox and 1 over the middle box) are still available from VW. Part numbers are: 1H0803310B IS £101.29+VAT 1H0804155A IS £67.64+VAT Both parts are on back order so approx 2-3 weeks i believe. The small shield on the petrol tank is also available. Not sure if the tunnel shields are available though.

Lovely car Daren. Definitely keep it standard, the drive is so much nicer then the crashy coil overs. See you at a show later this year then!
-
Looking good Matt, was going to pop down but ended up in the garage fitting my beam and it took longer then expected. Will definitely pop soon to check it out.

This Corrado passed me in Whitby today, does it belong to anyone on the forum still?
-
We'd all be gutted though if it was a nice one and they trashed it!
-
What a shame, you've had the wheels refurbished too haven't you? Will they repair easy?
-
Good news on the MOT Sean but gutted about the wheel. Suppose it's lucky you didn't damage the paintwork.
-
Looks good, could do with a thin stainless trim around the handbrake hole. How easy is it to get the centre section out? I want to change my handbrake cables and guide tubes?
-
This is a common problem on front subframes. The bolt can be drilled out and re-tapped using an M12 x 1.5 tap (cheap on ebay). I did this on mine, good as new.
-
Looks fantastic Sean!! Shame about the splitter, one way to stop it happening is to run standard suspension, you'll never hit anything at that height.
-
Might have a go at getting them out since I'm doing all this work. Also, found a company that does the e-coating to the original specification!!
-
I would like to do the handbrake guides but didn't want to have to strip all the interior out. How do they come out please?
-
Checked out the e coating but the guy's said its just a primer and would need overpainting anyway so had it all re-painted in a more satin finish. Happy now as i spent some time in my local VW dealers laid under a new Scirocco, the salesman thought I was nuts!!! Anyway, little update. Cleaned all the floors now and its come up perfect Had a few parts plated ready for the rebuild. Exhaust hangers heat shield clips, hanger bolts and a few more bits plated yellow: More updates soon.

Dont think I will be, they do have a section for standard cars and mine should be back together by then but there will likely be salt on the roads and its not good for the finish on my brake calipers!
-
Can't wait to see some pics Sean. You've done an amazing job with it, so different from when you first got it. Hopefully see it next year! Bet you'd think twice about running it down bruntingthorpe now!!

My Dad has a Panerai and its an awesome watch. I have an Omega Seamaster but it needs a new strap so probably going to trade in for a new one.
-
Send your calipers to bigg red, they are doing my rears at the moment.
-
Congrats on the purchase. Its not my old one though.

The curved blades are quieter then straight. The sickle shape blade’s swept design and thin trailing edge reduce pure tones in the sound spectrum and decrease vortex shedding to generate low wake turbulence for a quieter impeller.
-
They dont need to be pressed in, a simple threaded bar and metal plates is all mine have been put in with. Make sure the hole in the beam is clean and the new bushes poke out by 8mm!!
-
I want to take my rear dampers off to paint them, does anybody know if the bottom spring plate comes off easy or if its part of the damper? they are Koni dampers with original springs. Cheers
-
Definately OE type and genuine ones too.
-
Looking good Matt. Silver wheels will definitely be the way forward when it's painted.
-
There are some on ebay mate.

Not updated this thread for a while but I've been doing bits on the car ready for next year. The beam, exhaust and heat shields are all off and doing a bit of cleaning and refurbishing. The heat sheilds have been pretty time consuming, I started with 2000grade dry, then same again wet, then onto 3000 grade paper and then a metal polish. I wasnt sure what the finish should be on the shields but finished with scotchbrite to put a bit of grain down. Look pretty OE though: Close up. I was in 2 minds with the beam because it was in amazing condition for its age but had a couple of marks that I wasnt happy with, so this has been painted (not powder coated): Brake back plates: Suspension brackets: Amazing paint finish but.......... Its too shiney for OE so its gone back to be repainted again! So just this to clean now, again not bad for its age.
