  1. I might have some aluminium high temp paint in the garage that I did my head and gearbox with if its any good to you Matt?
  2. They can be pulled in with some stud iron, that's how mine where done. Make sure you clean the bores in the axle first!
  3. Its a real shame your feeling the need to sell Kip. Good luck with the sale, both of them are worth every penny and more. Wish I had more room (and money!)

    Caliper refurb

If you want them in a standard silver, grey or gold paint it was £79 a pair for fronts and £89 a pair for the rears. The premium oven cured finish in various colours was £129 fronts and £139 for the rears. Mine where done with a premium electroplate with a copper pre-coat so cost a bit more. The prices include the carriers to be done and you do get all new seals, pistons and bleed nipples. I think you get 10% discount if you get all 4 done at once.

    Caliper refurb

Give Biggred a try, they do everything including new seals, pistons etc. come pressure tested with a years warranty and much cheaper then new ones. Just had mine done by them but I went for the zinc finish.
  6. Have you checked out the build thread in the for sale add?
  7. Not sure if this one is still for sale. got some mods but don't think they come much better. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=88141

    Pistonheads

Looked tidy, must be the quickest sale ever!
  9. nearly finished, new brake discs and refurbished calipers on.
  10. Not sure if I'll have enough for both wheels though!
  11. Oh dear! Make sure you get the anti room bar the right way too. Wasn't really obvious when I put mine back together
  12. Cheers everyone, just been out and got some Castrol grease.
  13. Putting some new wheel bearings in over the weekend and wondered what the best type of grease to use is? I've got some moly grease which is black in colour but this mainly states cv joints, is this any good?
  14. Don't have have room for one more do you? If not, might Bob down in the golf.
  15. Thanks, it was looked after extremely well be the previous owner. I used some red enamel from halfords.
  16. The 38 and 72 must be factory markings as they where on the beam and backplates before I stripped them. I took measurements and positions before hand so I could get them the same.
  17. I painted them, they are actually koni adjustable dampers on standard springs (the only part not standard on the car). Are yours red or black on the new VR?
  18. Well my intention was to have the beam e-coated but in the end I couldnt get the new bushes out without damaging them and at the price for new ones it wasn't viable. So the plan is to use it this year then maybe get it done next year. So moving on, the guide tubes for the handbrake cables had started to corrode so I took them out, cleaned them up and re-plate them. I've also bought new genuine cables just because the ends will be cleaner. I've also had the rear calipers stripped, cleaned and replated, I'm really pleased with the finish: So now this is where i'm at, beam, hubs, backplates all back on. Should get the new discs on at weekend and hopefully get it back on wheels!
  19. This one: and this one:
  20. If I'd have known, you could have had mine for half price and I'd have paid the extra for new ones! They are all great and have been cleaned.
