  1. Corrado looks lovely, that is such a great colour... Having just bought a Mk1 and seeing yours at stanford last year i hope one day mine will be at that standard, beautiful example...
  2. Karl, i hope you get this sorted very soon and fair play to you for keeping going...
  3. Congratulations, ive just had a little Mia as well, on Friday.. Car tinkering continues but its definitely second fiddle.
  4. That Valver looks mint, nice find.. How many are you on now, double figures??
  5. The RXs look great, the slight charcoal look seals it for me.. The other rims, if those are Lensos then id say no, i juts dont like reps..
  6. Thats an interesting stat, it picks up really well, ok some of it is due to the feel of the car but the speedo needle moves up very quickly. Now where near the mid range grunt of a VR though. Its a very dated car which i guessis the attraction, the grab handle on the B pillars, the very strange heating set up, very heavy steering and quartlight windows to name but a few just add to the character.. Over the next couple of days im planning on raising her up a bit, i want it low but its a bit too much for me at the moment, im going to give it a full service tomorrow and then its major cleaning time to see exactly what ive got so its all wheels off, bumpers off, arch trims off. The paintwork is very good but as we all know black doesnt hide a thing, a good polish will bring it up well but there are a few areas that will need some attention but nothing where rust has taken hold. Theres a few defects to deal with, usual MFA, pathetic wiper motor, headlights not playing will keep me busy.. Ill put some more pictures up once its has the full treatment..
  7. Baby seat is in the Bora Karl..... :D Its quick Andy, ive got a dyno printout at 130bhp but it would smoke my old Mk2, it doesnt like going much over a ton though, handling is simply brilliant..
  8. Ok, the Corrado has left the building... After a lot of hunting though i havce found this little baby. Its a Mk1 GTI, non sunroof with a whole host of nice little upgrades that im enjoying and have a list of to dos that is quite long.. Basics Full windows out respray in 2005 Engine rebuild including TSR 1.9 conversion, ligtened and balanced bottom end, ported head, 4 branch, stainless exhaust BBS RZ (Rado G60) rims, refurbed with Uniroyal rainsports Mk2 16v brake Servo and front set up Original and very tidy interior Lowered on not the best coilies but theyll do for now Its had pretty much all bits that will go changed so its th basis for a good project, its no minter but shes good.. And one with the Bora in the background
  9. I bet you are over the moon to have the bumpers sorted - Magnex??? Time for a drop...
  10. I really do appreciate the nice comments guys, ive met a lot of nice people on here and ive no intention of vanishing.. I had to laugh earlier, i looked outside and the neighbours cat went to sit under the Corrado but there wasnt enough room, thats when you know its low enough...
  11. Well, final drive in the old girl thisafternoon, price agreed, leaves tomorrow morning to its new owner. Mixed emotions, really pleased with an easy sale and decent price in the current market but i will miss her alot. On a brighter note the genuine reason for sale is that i may have be saying goodbye to my baby but in two weeks i will be saying hello to a baby of a different sort - a baby girl.. I need a replacement though, ok the budget isnt massive but im sniffing at several Mk1 Golfs so watch this space, i will update as and when a new motor arrives... Parts clearout coming soon...
  12. Oh dear oh dear that sounds bloody great... Really pleased your getting somewhere Rob, i was worried that the engine might have been no good.. PM me your ECU number and ill keep my eyes peeled..

Now that paint looks very nice, bet you are well chuffed with that... Dutch life treating you well then????
  14. Ive got to admit personally i love TTs, both the old and new ones.. My Corrado hasnt even gone yet and ive had a few looks at some others although ive really got the desire for a hot MK4/another MK2 a bit more...
  15. What rims have you got on it at the minute? Rolled arches now so must be sexy wheel time... Those drivehsafts are a bit nice mate...
  16. Well it still hasnt gone, havent driven it for months now so probably best that i dont or else i wont want to sell up. The guy who looks like he will have the car isnt an enthusiast if im honest, he may turn into one but if we are all honest once you get the money for the car then its no longer you concern. The new car has arrived. Its a 2003 Bora TDI 130, very sensible but it really does shift and 50 to the gallon is a welcome bonus. Plans, none, too many doors to start anything and this car will be a workhorse, ill just be happy to keep it nice, its done nearly 100k but with all bills from new it feels like half that mileage.. Ive got to admit though ive already started to pine for another silly car, i cant see me getting another Corrado, or at least not for a while so im feeling another Golf, nothing rediculous as it will not be garaged, hunting has begun for the right machine though....
  17. Very nice dash, going to end up being another beauty...
  18. Well, after a time away im back on dry land. The car is provisionally sold and all being well will be going on Sunday, obviously im disappointed but nice changes dictate so. Im looking at getting something abit more sensible, family car required. Ive not ruled out a smaller toy for tinkering, nothing major so im reaquainting msyelf with Mk1, Mk2, Corrado prices to see what the options are.. I hope alls gone well this summer, shows, builds etc, i feel a bit behind the times......
  19. Some very nice goodies to move to your other one.. Seats, AC, washes all desireable items.. Nice position to be in John...
  20. Is DBP the same (or very similar) to Aubergine?? That could well be my favourite colour for a Corrado, very nice...
  21. Very taken with that Bora, nicely done...
  22. You must be a very happy man, still the benchmark in my eyes.. Im on the verge of selling mine so dont make it too nice or i may just have to keep it..
  23. Im a no show again this year due to work.. The plan car wise, is to sell everything and as boring as it sounds make a house purhcase later in the year, time to settle and all that. Im really feeling the need for a MK4 R32 though in the not too distant future...
  24. Everything is all good, no real plans. Thinking a Diesel Bora will be aquired later in the year and after that i want something thats nice, quick but that ill be more likely to use than i have been with teh Corrado...
