if you have to go modifying and shortening the system for a perfect fit it doesent sound much good to me, best cut your losses and buy a supersprint,,,
-
cutting out then not starting for half hour sounds like it could be the hall sender in the distributor to me,,

ones digifant and ones running a maf aint seen one like that before,,

i had the same temp light flashing issues as you and the gauge going up when everything else seemed to be fine and it was the black temp sender on the front of the head at fault,, -
put on eof those monster 8mm thick cable ties around the tensioner, that takes the tension off easy enough and keeps it in the same place for when you put it back on,, easy peasy,,,

hi ya ive been offered a brand new lambda probe for next to nothing from an ABF code 16v engine, (found in mk3 golfs etc) and wanted to find out if it would be suitable for my G60? anyone know? :?:
-

yeap the idle valve works the same as the n/a vehicles until you have an overboost situation, thats why on the boost return removal kits Daz supplies a small filter for the ISV as at idle its sucking the air in to stabilise the idle.
-
that negative "boost" / vac is measured from within the inlet manifold, the throttle is closed so therefore the engine is trying to draw air in that it cannot have, hence the vacuum, Daz is talking about the other side of the throttle body, when the charger is spinning at idle it is still producing pressure which is vented out of the return butterfly,, as darren says this part of the throttle body is always blowing not sucking,, hope my explanation helps,,

my car came with an awfull scorpion syatem, soon to be replaced with a supersprint, as ive had one of these on my mk1 golf for 8 years now and the fit and qulity along with the exhast note is really impressive,, supersprint are pricey but in the long run they show their worth it,,,

had a 4 branch on my mk1 track car for years it has no flexy joint and has not cracked, i put this down to it being made of mild steel though. in my opinion a much more suitable material than stainless for the application as it is not so britle and less prone to fracturing, and corriosin is not a problem this far up the exhaust syatem. only time 4 branches crack (stainless or mild steel) is when they are fitted to a car with engine mounts in a far from servicable condition and an exhaust with worn out hangers, they are good as gold when everything else is in order.

any of you know if i can connect a 5 wire wideband sensor to a normal air fuel gauge? or will they only work with a lm-1 or similar instrument? as im thinking of instaling one soley to run my air/fuel gauge if so where do the wires go and what do they do? i.e for a four wire sensor, 1 ground 2 heater, 3 to ecu/gauge 4 switched live, :D

the float arm travels down through the tank as it empties so the level marked on the gauge is linearly proportional to that, however the tank is not a constant shape as the arm travels down therefore the rate at which the tank empties is not linear, no way to get around this really unless you re-marked the lines on the gauge, but doees it matter really? surely all we are worried about is wether or not we are going to run out of fuel?

G60,poor fuel consumption and who for charger rebuild?
olly elworthy replied to 955matt's topic in Engine Bay
sounds like a prime oppurtunity to replace the oil feed pipe as these can become troublesome and clog up,thus limiting the oil flow to the supercharger  , you can get the pipe and associated fittings (banjo bolts and copper sealing washers) either from the main dealer or from G-werks,, -
i embarrassed my mate last night in a straight drag onto a dual carraigeway, i was in my g60 (sns chip 68mm pulley) and he was in his mint vr, my brother was in his car and said he hit the rev limiter twice trying to keep up, i was pleasantly surprised!! i didnt beat him by a long way but i pulled on past him,,
-
badger 5 is a shrick dealer, think Gwerks are too so they should be able to help you out,,

have you calculated this figure or are you just reading this off of the mfa? as the mfa may no longer be accurate with your current set up as it were designed for a standard motor,,
