Would 550 be ok, I will have to check on the part numbers to see if vr6 and g60 use the same shocks ---------- Post added at 4:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 4:38 PM ---------- Just checked venom motor sport and the kw website it looks like there is only one model for all corrado's so these should fit your g60

can try and upload more if needed.

Set of stainless kwv1's have been on my car no longer than 6 months with only 2500 mile done on them, have not been used on a track so all road use. These have a few marks from being fitted and the tails on the end of the springs have a little paint loss from being compressed but this would happen to any spring. I have cleaned these up and they look near to new and should do for a long time to come, these have been great shocks but the wiltshire roads are one level of bumpiness to much for me so have gone back to the standard set up. These come with the original box and kw tool kit. Looking for £600 posted and sent with postal insurance. Having trouble uploading a photo but will do this later.

I never knew porsche were that dedicated with there replacement parts, its amazing that my mum and my brother can both keep there mk1 golfs on the road with help from places like classic car parts, yet i have needed a replacement wiper arm and have struggled to get one for the corrado and whats more frustrating my local vw/audi specialist is no longer that special i tried getting some parts a while back from them and they wouldnt get anything in for any vehicles older than 2000 and suggested i go to a breakers yard. -
Not had much interest with the valves £135 posted with the seals.

Yeah I hear what your saying I have a possible mk2 golf syncro project to take up but if I feel the need to have something more modern and quick out of the box just don't see the point at throwing cash at something just to make it that little bit quicker. -

Things like that are what I need to get my head round my old mk2 golf needed an alternator 70 pounds and I fitted it myself it was 1.3 so not exactly a performance Motor. Some people may fret but looking at the cost for a vr6 if anything goes wrong its still expensive and I will also add I have bought non genuine parts for the vr and regretted it so the same would apply for a Porsche spend the money and look after it. I'm not thinking of jumping ship until at least the end of the summer and may still not do so. -

I will keep an eye out for this show sounds good, always liked the old fast Ford's I would never have one but got a lot of respect. For them ,chap who does work on my brother's fleet has two one is a 700 brake monster think it's well known in ford circles called the legend of el. -

from what i can gather having a full porsche service history is quite important for peace of mind which also ups the costs of maintaining it, i have been going through the costs of keeping one on the road and really considering the amount i have splashed out on the corrado it really isnt to bad, im going to have a word with my local garage as the chap who looks after my corrado has a 996. -

Spot on there Daren, I would miss the tinkering and maintenance bills is one thing I have looked into, problem is the next car needs character I would love a mark 1 golf as that is something special, a tt is a good car but as you said lew it lacks something special if I was going for a saloon an r36 or a 2000 plate Audi s4 v6 twin turbo would be my choice. I think the 996 would he my choice as long as maintenance wise I can afford it , I do think though my corrado doesn't need that much tinkering maybe because I have put a lot of time into it, and as such I have lost the need to tinker. I will say I love the corrado for what it is and if I sold it and bought another in the future I wouldn't he dissapointed. ---------- Post added at 10:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 9:55 PM ---------- Going to add that I have looked at the cost of engine replacement as that is the main big cost and it ain't pretty but if you can find a looked after example there shouldn't be a problem -
Been considering another car lately unfortunately for me it would mean selling the rado it does have a place in my heart and I can always see myself owning another one, I drive mine daily and as much as I love it I would like something newer and more refined . Now I have considered quite a few cars but one that stands out is the Porsche 996 as a suitable replacement for a corrado. Any one want to chip in with there thoughts is the 996 a poor choice any other cars to consider? I have just sold a load of performance engine parts for the vr6 A's I feel the money could be better spent on a performance motor straight from the factory.

Such a shame fella, if you can get your hands on a shell that's great I remember looking at the work you had done on the interior and being really impressed that is great news if you can swap it over.
-
Hope you have fun with the cams Dave would of loved of tried them out myself.
-

Watched Dredd this evening, love it to bits quality film with none of that hollywood glitz to ruin it and plenty of killings. Shame it didn't do to well at the box office.
-
I said before the schrick manifold but honestly would agree that the r32 bushes and poly bushes on the arb have transformed the car, considering the price of them it's almost a no brainer, although can make for slightly bullied firmer ride.
-
Only the cams and valves plus seals left. Will except 160 for the valves and seals.
-
I think you end up with the valves staying open all the time if there is to much material taken off which inturn means the valves can get smacked by the piston. That ported head I have has 140mm on it still .

There used to be a nugget driving round kingswood a few years back, possible its the same one.

Hendrixbmx you have pm Dave if I don't hear back from this other chap then your top of the list. Sharpy we will see what happens but cheers fella.

Whats wrong with peoples driving these days. Rant.
captainredeye replied to VWVW's topic in General Car Chat
I think there is a general lack of consideration towards others, my parents live on a tight bend leading into the village countless cars have crashed into there garden simply from going to fast its now a 20 limit. My dad was even hit outside the house coming back from a job while we were sat having dinner, the bloke panicked a bit when our whole family came out and then realised that he written of some ones car on there doorstep he called the police saying we were very intimidating which honestly is a fair comment. The guy was a total toss. Same corner but with people off dog walking and parking just around the bend so that they cant be seen many of them we have told that accidents have happened and that there car will get hit and there response is its insured or doesn't matter its a company car, No thought for others what so ever. -
