  1. The stem seals need doing as well as the hard gasket using a little to much oil at the moment, by any chance is your rado a blue k Reg from derry hill?
  2. Welcome, someone else from my neck of the woods, don't think there are any local vw clubs most have disbanded, unless you fancy joining the saxo crew in b&q carpark. I might have to give you a shout at some point as my vr6 is off the road with engine troubles and I'm sure to get stumped at some point.
  3. Yes we will be there, its a week earlier so the weather should be a little more stable, give me a shout if you guys are planning on going.
  4. Good choice Daren a worthy Corrado replacement, love the colour there was one local to me but with blue leather interior.
  5. yep thats me with the green vr, lots of corrado's in the area but none of the owners are forum members.
  6. Red one heading in the direction of Devizes, waved then realised I was in a golf
  7. Well just about to get towed can't get the car in gear and have smoke coming out by the gear box flanges, will know more shortly.
  8. Just noticed when the clutch pedal is fully depressed it makes a constant clicking sound, it stop as soon as I slightly release the pedal and gear changes are fine with no sticking this happens when parked or on the move when the engines running any ideas?
  9. I'm just down the road so should be along for this but getting time off from work is a little bit hit and miss at the moment I will know closer to the date so will keep you posted.
  10. I will be rocking up on the Friday put me down for this please Andy.
  11. I love my Corrado but a mk1 would be the win for me especially one that tidy shame you can't have both.
  12. Think they are worth the price Darren considering the condition of them, it just one of those items where you have to wait for the right buyer my last set of wheels were on ebay for months and got nothing but silly offers then several people were interested at the same time and got a good price for them, stick to your guns and be patient.
  13. Check the mounts are seated properly, had this on my old car and it raised the engine a fraction had to un do them and raise the engine with a jack, worth checking before you start chopping.
  14. You have made the right choice there Darren your car just gets smarter and smarter!
  15. I have bought a couple of items from these guys including a wing, i don't think they are particularly delicate when it comes to stripping parts off of the cars.
  16. Could be just me but I think the 195 are a little more fun in the corners, loved my old golf with skinny tyres small engine but could throw it into the corners even at low speeds and it would feel like it was on the edge.
  17. How does it invalidate insurance is it that it's not the size fitted at the factory? I ask because I have 195 on mine

  19. Real shame Andy, a bigger shame I won't have the cash to buy yours when it's up for sale, it's a proper stunning car so all the best with the sale and at least we may se you at the odd show.
  20. Strangely it was both the headlight switch and clock looms that burnt out on mine.
  21. Had a couple of burnt Looms to deal with last year and it's definitely not one of my favourite jobs, the fuse box where all the looms connect to needs pulling out there is a couple of clips also there is two bars that need sliding out to release all the looms that plug into the fuse board, you may already know this but it took me at least an hour to figure it out myself so thought worth mentioning. Good luck with it my car had been played with before and all the wires were tangled so spent a little extra time organising them and even went as far as labelling a few to make my life easier next time.
  22. Lovely car dude! I go to mainly air cooled shows and see a fair few of these about wonderful shape well worth holding onto, enjoy
  23. Quite like the hot rod rado at least it's being used and its quite nice to see a car like the Corrado being used in different racing circles plus it looks pretty tidy, better than being ratted and rusting out in 2 years time.
