It shows in the instructions which type you need, they're kind of ribbed, the older type are flat I believe. I bought some too but turns out mine were correct. Check if you can first, cos they're almost £40 for the pair from TPS! Probably much cheaper if you get non genuine though, which tbh doesn't make a blind bit of difference as they're only a bit of cast metal.

Plus axle is part number 190109. The other is 1909093. A quick Google search confirms, and thankfully I have the correct one to fit when I finally get around to it! Make sure you get the right one as Sean_Jaymo recently got bitten with this, which I believe ultimately caused him to lose faith and sell up.

The Nothelles are incredible in the flesh! Got to admit, these are possibly now my favourite wheels on a Corrado now. Helps that the car surrounding it is simply stunning too! Good seeing you again yesterday Michael, catch up soon mate. :thumbleft:

It was the later cars that got a space saver, so worth trawling the breakers for early cars on here and PM'ing the OPs to see if they still have one mate.

Yes they are different unfortunately. No idea why tbh.

The bottom hose will remain cold until the stat opens btw. This helps get the engine up to temp, then at 87 degrees the stat open which circulates the coolant through the rad, and keeps the temps stable. To bleed, run the car up to temp with the expansion cap off. Rev to 2.5k rpm for 30 secs the let it idle for 30 secs, repeating over and over until up to temp. During the idle phase, squeeze all the hoses you can safely get to, to help push any trapped air out. When finished, turn off, allow to cool and top up as necessary.

Yes its pretty low mileage, but its certainly not worth 5k, even being optimistic. CAT D, and quite a bit of rust. Interior isn't mint as described either, and it could certainly have benefitted from a clean in there! Its by no means beyond saving, but it would take a near full body respray as well as the rust and damage sorting. Thats a good few grand to do all that, and its not worth 8k + which is roughly what the outlay would be after the work.

Yes the slam was damaged, however how is the safety catch released? Thats right, its pushed back........ Therefore, with enough wind resistance against the catch, and a vibrating car whilst travelling at speed = bonnet release - released! Anyone that thinks its fine is as stupid as the guy in the original pic imo. Oh, and that washer bottle was filled with halfords ready mixed crap by the way, not coolant! lol

195s on 8" is bad enough, but on 9" wheels is down right dangerous. There was a guy on here not so long back that had a blow out on 2 separate occasions whilst cornering due to ridiculous stretch. I hope you don't find an MOT station stupid enough to pass it on these, or the Police pull you at the earliest opportunity to "advise" you that it's unsafe!

Indeed it does, I saw the thread when you originally posted it, but had to wait til I was home to be able to post that pic. He laughed afterward, but the bonnet obliterated the windscreen and luckily he was on a quiet road as it could've been fatal to other road users. Not cool at all, and extremely dangerous.

BandB components (tiered on ebay) sell them. £65 which is the cheapest I've found, and are ATE so top quality.

Epic work there mate, well done for being so thorough with it! My chain guide had snapped in exactly the same place on that mounting point, and they had all been replaced about a year prior. Not sure if it was due to over tightening as they have a metal sleeve, or its due to slightly too much play on the chain. You're obviously replacing the lot though which is a good thing. The mk4 tensioner bolt and top guide would be a wise purchase. :thumbleft:

106 is perfectly fine. That's oil temp though not water temp. Water is indicated by the dash needle and oil indicated by the mfa readout. Oil will always be higher than water but just keep an eye on it The 16v should run cooler than the VR but with spirited driving or in slow traffic, 106 is fine. Over 120 though and I'd say you have issues somewhere in the system.

Just had a good look through the last few months progress on this as I saw the other thread about the headlining. Some absolutely cracking work and real credit to you for doing everything so thoroughly. This will be an extremely well sorted car when you're done! Made me remember I need to get some cavity wax on mine actually! Also reference headlining, is yours the foam backed stuff on the as-trim website? I went to check the car the other day after 5 months since parking it up. I did mine a while back and just used a light fabric, but the Glue soaked through in a couple of places near the edge of the sunroof which is really annoying me, and it's also started to come unstuck in a couple of small areas now where there obviously wasn't enough Glue put on. I can't view your photos when I'm away at work, so look forward to seeing some real progress again when I'm back in late December! :thumbleft:

This is what happened when the guy that bought my accident damaged valver decided to drive it to his yard for breaking. It wouldn't close properly, so was held on with just the catch.
