Thanks Chris, how much posted mate?

Ignition switch mate. Are you with the car now? Try starting it and wiggle the key whilst it's turned. Very common fault.
-
I've not seen it tbh mate. It's possible to retrofit anything with enough time and patience, but the mountings are there at the back for it, and it would make life a bit putting in the standard place. It's your call if you fancy something different though bud.

Seeing as it's intended for hillclimb/track use Max, why don't you do away with at least the passenger side leccy window to save a bit of weight? Bit of perspex butted in place, job done!

A standard compensator is sufficient for the job. They are available from Heritage and the same as the mk2 Golf iirc. I'd say you definitely need one.

Well Bernie said at the press conference that there could be as little as 14 cars running next year, but the US track principle said the US public are not as excited as the cars sound so dull, to which Bernie hinted that there could be another major engine shake-up in the next couple of years with a return to big N/A power plants and less emphasis on noise levels as "its not f1" ...........

Window Rollers - on hiatus due to c*ck up
seanl82 replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Forum Group-Buys
OK, I suppose I can stretch to the 4 required. Cheers! -
Yeah your right there Graham. When we have to make repairs in situ, we use strongbacks to ensure they don't flex on these weak points. I was a bit quick to reply last time and as per PMs, my apologies. Both methods have their applications though. :thumbleft:

Ooh yes please. I'll have a set for both sides dependant on final price? :thumbleft: -
If the glass is OK see if you can separate it first. Much cheaper to buy a cracked fog and replace the glass. It can be done to a good standard if you take your time.

ABS Brake pedal position sensor - DG Refurb service

Looks easy enough. Plug unclips just below and to the right of the steering column, and I think it rotates 90 degrees and comes out by pushing toward the bulkhead. Not 100% that's correct but it seems that way at a glance mate. -
Just heard Martin Brundle mention the possibility of an Audi (VAG) F1 team for next season with Stefano Domenicali heading it up. It's the first I've heard about it, but could be a real benefit with R&D probably having a big uplift in the group, and eventually finding it's way into the mass market? What are your thoughts?

I understand with why this would be done in high temp areas. Especially with solder mixes nowadays and joins being nowhere near as strong with no lead content. I have access to 60:40 tin/lead solder luckily which is still used in aeronautical and military manufacturing only. A correctly crimped connection using a high quality crimp tool with the correct AWG setting for the wire is the way to go though. :thumbleft:

Standard sized fans are available from veedubmachine too if you want to retain the standard bracketry and looks.

Doh, I binned one last month. Sounds like it would have been worthwhile having a spare. Are they available from VW?

I'm convinced he's buying heritage stock and flogging it on at an inflated price. He's got another 50mm and 90mm splitter on the go again now. He must have sold over a dozen "spare" ones! -
Spotted on Watchdog. Outside a dodgy engine replacement specialist.

Bugger, I had a Bosch one delivered yesterday from a Polish ebay seller for £66. -
Carcoon or carcapsule do like big bubble type things. Not particularly cheap but it depends what lengths you're willing to go to. The indoor ones are cheaper I think and you'll probably be able to get away with a budget one if your there often to vent it etc.

It'll buy you time to get a decent set of replacements. I agree about not modifying too much though. I've kept mine to put back on if/when I sell should the buyer desire. Always nice to have that option.
-
Ah you should have said last week Matt. I had mine out and separated the seat loom from the other bits it's wrapped with on my old loom, the re-wrapped it into a new one that didn't have heated seats. It's all back in now, sorry mate!

Just remove them all. Looks much cleaner imo except on light coloured cars where it helps to break it up a little.

Just watching it now, I was just about to post that!!!!
