Very nice Chris! 👍

ABV is the 2.9 engine code. Think it being stamped on the block is a pretty certain giveaway that it is.

Yeah but pretty sure the Galaxy was AAA so 2.8 anyway. The covers I've seen are either 2.8 DOHC or VR6 DOHC. I have seen those coloured covers, but they are few and far between even on early cars so assumed they were aftermarket or had been painted. Happy to be proved wrong. 😉
-
I don't think they did.....
-
I think the galaxy was fitted with the AAA wasn't it?

There should be a 'insert other media' drop down menu at the bottom right when you select the reply box

I think I remember reading that the blue wire was for speed/volume auto adjustment. Not sure it was ever used in UK or even European cars, but can't say for sure it was used in the US market either... May have been a radio dependant option.

Could be worse, could be Ham & Cheese....🤐

Well done for persevering! I've attempted to go through the whole thing a few times again since, and got bored so skipped over a lot of it! Lol. You'd think now would be the ideal time to get it all back together as the only thing I need to get are brake lines and a new M/C, but I've not touched it in weeks as I've been busy digging out the garden. The quads are excellent, we've actually sold on the boys green one as it was a bit sluggish on the fields over winter where he's got a bit big for it. He's now got a 110cc 4 stroke and it's an absolute beast! Pops wheelies with me on it! Haha. They are great fun and he loves it. Helps that we now live quite rural and have farmer friends who let us skirt their fields. 👍

The antenna looks stock so for me, it's a good upgrade and allows far better options as you can fit 'retro' looking radios but have modern functionality. 👍

Non A/C has 3 stages too, at least European ones do...🤔

It was a workshop when I was in Portsmouth on a course so I don't know the details unfortunately. It was a 20t press of a budget type, but it did the job well.

Mine took about 8 ton to break out initially, then pushed out with around 2 ton. Pushing back in was around 2 ton as well, and I made sure it was home by going up to 8 again.

I sent them a link to SeanJaymos old members gallery as it shows them side by side with part numbers etc.... You can send them a link to mine as well if you like, and a few others that have had the same issue and received replacement springs. They can't deny it if you give them multiple instances as evidence that they've set a precedence in replacing them previously.
-
You don't need to send them off, they sell the rebuild kits and pistons separately
-
Bigg red do rebuild kits including pistons for most calipers

Ha, it's the only engine/bay bolt I've not got a replacement for! Think I'll just spray it with a bit of silver paint now! Lol. Aren't they reverse thread as well?

Not all heritage parts are cheap, a lot of them are genuine VW, you just have to check the description. They can order specific parts from VW classics as well which if you're willing to wait up to 3 weeks (their scheduled shipping dates) then you'll save on the postage from Germany. They've also done a lot to get parts NLA remanufactured both by VW and aftermarket, and they're great to deal with and very helpful. Some parts may not be of the highest quality but we suffer with a bit of a lack of options on a lot of things, so it's pot luck where you get parts including eBay. I ordered a set of TREs off eBay (listed as lemforder) and when they arrived they were topran. I sent them back as the seller said the lemforder ones were out of stock. If I couldn't wait I would have paid a premium for substandard parts imo. It's a one stop shop for a lot of Corrado parts, but if you're willing to shop around and make multiple purchases for multiple parts each with their own postage price (don't kid yourself that it's free, it's offset against the item cost) then that's fair enough.

Plenty of time mate, no need to rush. I'm not planning on having mine on the road for a fair while now. Was hoping for May but I think late summer is more likely. Shame as it won't have long until it'll be tucked back up for the winter!

205 is right. You'll get a little stretch depending on which tyres you go for, but next step up (215) will possibly rub.

Good work, keep it up and I look forward to watching this progress. The cable connectors at the top of the struts are for the front ABS sensors. One goes down to each front hub and the other side of the connector joins the ABS loom.

Ello stranger! Hope you're well mate!? Yes forum is subscription unfortunately. Only real way tbh as Tapatalk died, image hosting sites began charging, no one could upload photos and the wiki was out of action. Unfortunate for the casual poster as you say, but only real option to keep the forum alive. Are you thinking of returning to ownership then?

They're not Vento cups, they were 17" 7J compomotive MO5 speedlines. That was what the group buy was.

Check Robrados members gallery. He has a set of them fitted. They're 17" and look fantastic with a decent drop
