If you could find out the centre bore size that may help, pretty sure the Scooby ones are larger
-
Indeed. I count myself extremely lucky in that my salary is unaffected by all this, which isn't the case for a huge number and I imagine it's quite a distressing time

They arrived the other day and are correct! 😁 They did only come with caliper bolts for one side though, although I've ordered a full set of slider pins front and back which come with boots and bolts anyway. 👍

Wow, no never heard that before. They are interference fit so can only imagine the ring gear has a crack which has loosened it off, or someone that didn't know what the feck they were doing has "lightened" it in the wrong place.......

The late MK3 Golf block was notoriously underreported for power output, but that was mostly down to OBD2 management using figures up toward 190 instead of the reported 175. The biggest gain though is apparently through the inlet, so putting a Corrado intake with the much larger plenum on a 2.8 block 'apparently' releases good gains and are very comparable with the 2.9 block. I can't comment from experience or do I have any RR figures to show you, bit it has been done numerous times without issue. A remap will likely wipe out any difference also between the two, so if your hand is forced, I wouldn't be too worried about a drop in performance.

Without reading back, isn't the MK4 sump shallower meaning you'll need the MK4 pickup too...
-
Chris, have you put it on the CCGB Facebook page? I only know Ron White who's the merch man, but don't have any contact details I'm afraid.
-
I'd say so. I got mine 5 years ago now so not sure if they're still available.
-
I've gone back to original 280s and stock rears too. Had all the original calipers refurbished and electroplated silver by Bigg Red. The description was correct for the pads, so we'll see!

Ordered a set of front Pagid pads from ECP for £4.39 delivered. Bargain!
-
Ha, you've got so many spare parts now you can't find them! Lol. In fairness, I bought a set of rear ABS sensors and handbrake cables, forgetting I'd already bought them a couple of years ago! DOH!
-
Satin silver, the car is pretty much flawless! Recaros have been recovered with Napa leather, again flawless! And the VSR was bought from a car that he and easypops bought together a couple of years ago that had been fire damaged.

I was thinking you'd been quiet after seeing your mug in Martin's post! Hopefully see you at some point this year mate. And get the Nothelles back on! 😁

I think with the recent weather, and the fact that the show is seen as 'scene' and very much a celebration of modifications which most have probably moved away from now in favour of preservation of factory spec, it'll always be difficult to pull people to this one. I know most shows have a concourse or show and shine with 'original' classes, but again the weather has probably put a dampener (excuse the pun) on that too. There just aren't that many around anymore in good enough condition yet with owners willing to drive them in all weathers, for a lot of shows to be attractive.

Yeah I've bought one or two bits from them recently. Postage is a bit of a killer for small parts and takes an age to get here. Still waiting actually! Thanks for posting links, I'll keep my eye out.

Saw this and thought, I'd better check mine. Guess what, I've lost my splitter iron! I've no idea where its gone, it was quite distorted and only pushed in place when I transported the car so can only conclude its come off in transport. The splitter is just held on by the outer two bolts that don't go through the iron.... bugger!

Thanks Chris! Certainly different from P1!!!

Thanks all, really pleased with it. Shame about the jubilee clips, but I'm buggered if I can find any ear clamps of the right size without buying another set of new boots. Just building up the drive shafts so hopefully fare a little better this time round. Hope to have it on the road in May, but need to sort brake lines as the seller from the group buy hasn't responded in a while to my emails.

Santa came early! (Or late!!) Pretty pleased with the powder coating, for £120 it seems like a bargain! There is some pitting on the rear axle & tank straps but that obviously couldn't be helped, they're not new after all. The subframe and smaller bits look brand new though, really pleased with how they've come out. Most of the bolts have been picked up from VW (the ones that were available) or delivered from Heritage or further afield - had to get some from Germany which is as mental as the delivery cost! Still a couple to come but almost all there now. Brand new genuine grille as well so I now have all parts to de-Storm it. Don't think I will now though, just because I don't want to damage the paint removing badges! New sump as well cos mines looking a little rough. Hopefully finish the underseal/painting this weekend so I'll get some pics before reassembly begins!
-
Yeah they've been obsolete for around 5 years now I think. Those are the correct ones but pretty expensive if you consider shipping, import duty and tax too. I got replacement leather for mine and did a pretty reasonable job of replacing it and tucking in by the badge (the second time round after having the same issue with the foil coming off the numbers like you). I managed to get a NOS badge luckily but must admit, I'd prefer a proper one. Wish I'd got in on the steering wheel group buy a few years ago too!
-
I don't begrudge you getting them (or any other bargains) Martin, just jealous as hell! 😁
-
Well I managed to get the last two in stock of the rack bolts, and I actually had a set of the pulley bolts in my watch list on ebay! lol. Got everything else including the carrier bolts from heritage, but I'm still after the ear clamps and pipe clips.

Ooh B12, very nice! You'll need the correct front spring plate, as they are different in size on some (early/late). New top mounts and bearings are well worth it too. The correct spring part number should end in 2002HA. 👍
