  1. The one a Castle Combe sounded a bit tame from what I heard of it on the track. Looked awsome though!
  2. Thats alot of car there! Is that a Nokia Ringo!? I had one of them in 1998!
  3. Having owned both early and late, I know they have the same mounting arrangement. As has been mentioned though, the early are more recessed than the late. As david has said as well, early ones are plastic. I can't recall them actually being a different shape though, so other than the retaining cutouts for them being further back on the early type, I'm sure they could be easily adapted.........
  4. I can see both sides of the coin here. I've been thinking a bi-annual track day so we could do different circuits as well as it being more appealing to the Northern/Southern folk. Problem with this is that in a couple of years time (even months once all the enthusiasm has worn off and dark days come), it will end up being an event with half a dozen cars doing it, and those on the commitee would have spent a lot of time and effort organising it for less than half the people you'd get at a regional VW meet. Like I mentioned in the previous post, the annual National Day would be an ideal opportunity to get everyone together for such an event. Being held at a track would also add a little more to the day/experience too!
  5. I bough a set of speedlines for £50 with tyres from an ebay member in Chinnor. Think it was stephens dismantlers? Not sure if its the same guy under a different username but I often see Corrado parts come up from that location at reasonable prices. I did hear that companies with trade type ebay accounts often put their prices up massively when out of stock, so as not to have to end the listing and incur more fees if it auto relists. Maybe, just maybe this is one of those times, as he's clearly delusional to expect those prices!
  6. Yup, as mentioned in your thread I'd be keen. Although a few weeks time may be a bit soon for me. I appreciate its coming toward the end of the decent weather though and summer time will be over before we know it, so time is of the essence. Perhaps an annual Forum AND Club event that could be incorporated into a large meet/show of some kind? A National/Anniversary day with free muggets every year!!!!
  7. Surprisingly little considering the problems I've/its had/still has. Circa £300 since I bought the car in March.
  8. Without meaning to clutter your gallery Fay, I'd be up for it too! Again, I'd need some better stopping power and a reasonable set of tyres though. I think Christine would wanna sit in the passenger seat which would add extra weight though, and I'd wanna keep going out to try and beat the previous time.................... it could get soooo addictive!
  9. Would you be willing to split that down a little? All I need are the bits mentioned above and it would cut down alot of postage. The handbrake cover isnt mentioned or pictured on the ebay advert either.
  10. Do you have the handbrake lever cover still? If so how much posted bud? ---------- Post added at 7:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 7:07 AM ---------- Do you have the handrake cover and gear gaitor and knob mate? If so, how much posted?
  11. Looks excellent! May as well get the subframe off and and painted up/powdercoated whilst your at it! I do like a nice clean and fresh bay, I will get onto mine at some point..........
  12. Sorry Fay, I linked in the wrong post. :bonk: I meant this one.................
  13. I'd be up for a set too as mine are looking very brittle, and I'll need to start preparing for next years respray soon!
  14. For early VR I believe you need the sealant for the fibre gasket. The later rubber gaskets are not required though. VW want £45 for the rubber gasket, so I went with an elring one from cp4l for around £15 iirc.
  15. He had six of mine. I paid £20 for them which I thought again was a bit steep, but its the first time I've been round a track so had to get it! A couple of them were very light and over exposed, and he burned it by mistake, but he photoshopped them and burned that one onto disk and gave them both to me.
  16. Thanks for the offer Stu, I've already paid for them off Emu though mate. Thanks again!
  17. Excellent, thanks James. I'll take one in black then please.
  18. Thanks to everyone who made mine and the wifes first Corrado meet so memerable! Special thanks to Judith who made Christine so at ease and involved, Ian who gave us a lot of his time, and James (Clumpy) who engaged us in some good banter! (So sorry the missus though Killi was in Wales!:bonk: Here are a couple of camera phone pics, and I'll link in a hilareous vid I'm putting on youtube of the parade lap!
  19. Just to remind me, does this include the surround, and how does it secure into the tunnel?
  20. Looks excellent! Look forward to comparing it to a not so good one tomorrow, and hopefully getting some inspiration!
  21. Drove up to the folks place in Bristol, longest drive since I've owned it, and I should never have considered doubting her making it! Didn't miss a beat! And just gave the car a quick wash ready for tomorrow!
  22. Yeah I'll go for that then please mate. PM me your details and and I'll get it across. Thanks! :thumbleft:
  23. Isn't it supposed to be "Nee bother"!
