  1. I had a hairline Crack on the crimped part of my fuel filter. I left the lines alone at the time as they were fine. Pretty sure filters are still available from VW though at a reasonable price mate.
  2. I've got to admit, I'm not a huge fan of mystic blue and don't see why so many like it so much. I think aqua blue is a nicer colour tbh. I think the greens look great, and although I'm not drawn to the flat colours in pictures, they look fantastic in the metal. It really is an all colours car as Jim says. :thumbleft:
  3. Well, still using it daily which is taking the enjoyment out of driving it a bit, although noticing the tyres were at 46 psi so letting 10 out of each certainly improved the drive! She's plodding along like a trooper though and taking everything that's been thrown at her without so much as a hiccup so can't complain too much. Still getting the odd bits and pieces for the Underside refurb too. Thought I'd stumbled on a gem from veedubmachine having both front brake splash Shields but alas, a partial refund was issued today as the left side isn't available. Unsurprisingly it's this side which is virtually non existent on my car so some work to track down one of them required. New rear disks, pads, bearings, & abs rotors purchased too along with the RHS front splash Shields. Just need wishbones, bushes front & rear, hubs, stub axles, CVs, and nuts and bolts now and I'll be ready to go. Moving back down to Plymouth in August and we've been allocated our house now which has a garage, which is definitely a Brucey bonus! Oh, and fitted the bonnet pins and catch I got back from Ian (gloucesterox) which look amazing!
  4. Changes depend on the insurer, AF are just the brokers I think. Again depends on insurer as to ncd. Some will accrue by mirroring your daily use vehicle, some will start from zero, some won't do it at all. Like all things insurance, it's an absolute lottery so check the small print.
  5. Mine failed previously due to the light being off. From what I'd read previously, the lighting circuit forms an integral part of the system, so if it doesn't operate, the system won't work. It really depends on the tester, but up until about 3 years ago it wasn't a fail, just an advisory.
  6. Do you not have key cover on your insurance? Worth a look.
  7. Classic symptoms of a poorly MAF that mate.
  8. Pretty sure most classic policies have a 5k limit, limit Jon. I went through Adrian Flux too this year. Same as the OP, I have the ability to commute, all the extras and a £7k agreed value for £237. Pretty happy with that tbh.
  9. I've tried chain and strap wrenches in the past, but if the seal hasn't been lubricated before fitting, the only way I've found affective to get it off is to drive a long screwdriver through the side about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way up all the way to the hilt, then use that as handles to turn the thing. Crude but does the job every time!
  10. http://vr6parts.com/onlinestore/index.php/volkswagen/vr6/12-valve/12v-vr6-camshaft-set-263-street-1.html These are very well recommended amongst the Corrado community. You'll need to factor in shipping costs, but far less all in than you've seen so far.
  11. Have you changed anything to try and diagnose it? I remember someone else here had similar, but when going through the MFA options and back to oil temp, it would be 20 degrees lower iirc. Have a search via google and you may locate the thread. Can't remember how it was solved in the end, sorry........
  12. Haha! What's he driving now Stuart? I've got a lot of time for him actually. He came down with the kids to collect some parts a while back so we had a good chat. He's a really nice guy and it's a shame he moved on so quickly.
  13. The slave cylinder is very cheap and easy to replace. Start there and move to master if it doesn't sort it mate.
  14. Because Wayne started a thread in the members gallery! Tbf, mine isn't too far off his, but he was here less than a year I think!
  15. http://www.veedubmachine.co.uk/genuine-vw-floor-mat-set-corrado-vr6-g60-16v-g60-8v.html Just saying...............
  16. Bit early to buy yet, but thanks for the link. :thumbleft:
  17. Thanks Rob. I may have to hit you up for a nosey when I'm next down if you don't mind
  18. I remember you posting pics of those disks. Unbelievable how ignorant some people are to problems with their vehicles, especially when it's something so safety critical and you have kids to think about, let alone other roads users.

    door seals

I got mine from VW heritage, although they are a little pricy. If you do a search through Google, you'll find a thread where different ones have been used. They're good and pretty cheap. The only difference is they don't overlap quite as much so there can be a slight gap by the rear door cards.
  20. Thanks for the responses guys, I've signed up to club 80-90 forum (T25 OC), and asked a similar question too. Jamie, thats great thank you! I'm definitely leaning way more to a T25 if I'm honest. Rusty, the T5 is probably a little out of the budget I was hoping. That said, looking around a bit more, a decent T4 is actually more expensive than a T25! Go figure...... Edd, I'd originally thought a late T25 TD would be the way to go, but I'm now more inclined toward the 1.9 or 2.1 petrol as it'll only have very occasional use, so economy isn't really a problem. A Diesel with a PD conversion would be ideal though. Thanks again gents, food for thought!
  21. Why oh why do people cut holes in stuff to fit crappy bloody tweeters! :brickwall:
  22. So I've been looking at campers recently, with a view to buy one early next year. I know its a little preemptive, but there are obviously so many options with regard to converting from a panel van, all the way up to one already fully fitted so I want to do tons of homework on what would best suit. I wouldn't mind a new project, but I expect the wife and kids would be pretty cheesed off with me if I bought one with the intention of restoring - which we probably all know can take quite some time! It depends on price (which leads onto below), but probably a T25 which needs a little work or has started to be converted, or a T4 which is ready to go but could do with updating/interior refurbishment. This is the headache I have........ Obviously the T25 are cooler - being older, but I'm a little more worried about reliability. It'll be used for its intended purpose - weekends away with the family etc so being stuck on a hard shoulder late at night with 2 young kids isn't ideal. It just seems to me its the (slightly) more affordable classic at the moment, but no doubt prices will creep up a little over the coming years. Its not an investment and its not what I'd buy if for don't get me wrong, but it would be nice if when the time comes to sell, any work would have paid for itself. Onto the T4. Obviously newer and more reliable, more comfortable to drive and "camp" in, less likely to be rotters, and cheaper. I don't think these will ever attain the status of the previous ones though and therefore no different to any other manufacturer produced camper. Is it just riding the classic VW camper wave and overpriced for what it is? Sorry if that sounds really negative toward them, I mean no disrespect and I do like them! Anyone have either or know much about them? Thanks all! :thumbleft:
  23. I thought 17k was pretty optimistic, but maybe there would be someone that came along eventually and offered a few grand under. This though is just insane. I genuinely cannot see anyone paying anywhere near this, even if it is one of the top 3 in the country. Mental!!!!
